Exactly this. My kids didn’t go to full time nursery, a relative looked after them while I worked part time but from the age of three they all attended the playgroup attached to school five mornings a week. She appears to see nursery as childcare rather than a place of learning and socialising with children of his own age. That's why she justifies saying that they work from home so he doesn't need it.
Friendship groups all start from nursery and by the time he starts school, he will have no friends of his own. He definitely needs to learn social skills and manners. Will he still be climbing all over the tables at school?
It wouldn’t be so bad for Woody if they had lots of family and friends he interacted with regularly but all he has is Beggy, Ratboy and Alfeh. He could be seriously overwhelmed when he starts school at five and end up quite withdrawn which is so sad as he is a lovely outgoing little boy at the moment. They are a selfish couple, if it inconveniences them or doesn’t directly benefit them, they aren’t interested.
