We received an email today from my children’s school which contained a document that has been issued by our local authority. It states that a fixed penalty notice of £80 per parent, per child will be issued once the child has missed 10 sessions (5 days) over 10 weeks.
After one has been issued, if another is triggered within a 3 year period then they will issue another but at a higher rate of £160 per parent, per child. Then if a third is issued within a 3 year period there will be no option to pay a fine, instead it will progress to legal interventions. I hope this is the same for the new local authority they fall under once they move. I’m sure she would have triggered 3 penalty notices all in one school year, last year! Could be interesting if she faces legal repercussions for pulling her kids out of school all the time so she can tan her arse in Tenerife and go to centre parcs in November cos it’s suh suh cute and pretty and stuff.
