I binged Murder in the Valleys last night. I didn’t know much about the case. Would be interested to hear what people think. Fwiw I don’t believe David Morris should have been convicted.
i’m from the area, known people who lived on the street when it happened. literally everyone in south wales will tell you that dai morris is innocent and it was a police coverup. the forensic way the crime scene was set up and cleaned speaks volumes, not to mention the behaviour of the (twin) police officer brothers. bbc wales did an excellent article on it a few months back which i’ll try and find, but all evidence points to it being a miscarriage of justice.

edit: here is the article i was thinking of:

A question for you - do you remember the name of the murderer who was a young guy, in England, who befriended vulnerable elderly people? I think the court case might have been to do with one lady, and one man, and he also gaslighted them by making them think they had advanced senility and were imaging things. He might have even married the man who I think might have have been a professor. Googling is getting me nowhere!

Still think it was the Foster dad who killed her
Sounds like a Levi Bellfield modus operandi. (I know it was the wrong time frame.)

I've just listened to the Redhanded podcast episode on this and watched the interview Sion Jenkins did with Sir Trev when he was released from prison. Have to say, I'm convinced he did it too.

Came here to tell everyone about the Billie Jo doc that's on tonight. It's two hours long. I'll definitely be watching it. I've never had a good feeling from Sion Jenkins but I know that doesn't necessarily make him a murderer.

He had fetish porn in a chest of drawers and equipment in the loft - a hood and ball I think. Milky found the porn and was said to be distressed by it.
I think if I found that sort of stuff belonging to my Dad at 13 I would have been quite distressed by it too.

Not up to date with Billie Jo Jenkins - why do people think it was Sion? Wasn’t he found not guilty?

But Milly didn’t find all that. She found one magazine at the bottom of a drawer - she didn’t find sex toys, whips, chains or anything else. I’m not saying she wouldn’t have found the magazine alone ‘distressing’ but it doesn’t mean her parents (or dad) was a freak that deserved to be vilified by the press. The police found pornographic videos / bondage items in their loft after searching their house.

Oh of course, I didn’t say he should have been vilified just that I can emphasise with how Milly felt.

I've just watched the Billy-Jo documentary. I'm a similar age to her. At the time and and when his appeal was heard I always thought he was quite possibly wrongfully convicted.

I'm now pretty certain they had the right man. The blood spatter is really strong evidence. Add to that the witness testimony from his wife. I fully believe he was abusive, she had no reason to lie, and the extracts from his book sound like words of someone who is coercive and uses those ways to control others.

It's not inconceivable that someone in her position with work would hide what was going on in her own home. In fact I can understand the many reasons why she probably kep quiet.

However, I do understand why there is the element of doubt though and unfortunately it is just enough to leave the case unsolved. Without new evidence I honestly don't think they will solve it conclusively.

I agree. He creeps me out. He’s a deeply nasty, controlling man. I think he’s guilty , I always have snd this documentary done nothing to change my mind

Same. I always vaguely thought he was guilty, then I listened to the Red Handed podcast which made me think so even more. At the start of the documentary I thought Sion was actually narrating it and was worried it would be one sided but after watching I think they handled it well. It was clear to see the police involved with the case all thought they had the right man and I agree.

I fell asleep during the Billy Jo doc but will catch up. The blood spatter is interesting, I seen on the case of 'The Staircase' the defense used exhalation spatter, the thing is surely Sion would have needed to be practically lying on the ground bedside her to have splatter all over the front of his jacket, I suppose at a push in he rolled her to check she was alive or dead. Odd man, seemed guilty.

Jenkins was a sleazy devil, telling a load of lies on his CV to land a good teaching post.

Re Billi Jo, what would be the motive for SJ killing her?
Presumably a violent loss of temper. This is just speculation but if he had been sexually abusing her and she threatened to reveal it, he could have acted in a panicked rage.

Speculation of course but he was about to move up to Head of the school, if Billy had started to threaten to tell something, whatever it may have been, he could have flown into a rage. Also I doubt he had the same bond with her as the other girls, did he really want a Foster child or did his social worker wife want that (not a reason to kill of course but she probably ment little to him)

That documentary about it really upset me, I was left thinking about it for days. He was so cruel, making these elderly people suffer for his own enjoyment and greed
