Nobody deserves to be murdered especially a 14 year old boy but unfortunately dea John was not the innocent little victim his mother and the media are portraying him to be. He had robbed another kid at knifepoint and bragged about it on Snapchat so the kids family took matters into their own hands and unfortunately ended up in a killing. Waste of many lives. Some people are trying to compare it to the murder of Stephen Lawrence which annoys me as it is not comparable I’m afraid.
Not surprised at all. As I said on another thread, truly innocent victims are rare. And, unfortunately, most of these parents are fucking delusional. How many more times are we going to hear "he was always such a good boy, he loved his nan and went to church every Sunday" blah blah blah trotted out and then you see pictures of them on social media making the stupid 'gang' signs, addressing everyone as "my G" <sigh> and holding a knife or a gun? That photograph in your post is horrible. And I'm not just talking about black victims before anyone jumps on me. I see it across the spectrum.
This is the second case of a black teenager murdered in Birmingham recently (can't remember the name of the first lad - sorry) which has received major national coverage - and I mean main TV news coverage, which is very rare these days - whereas teenagers of all races get killed seemingly every day in London and no one gives a shit....? I don't get it
I feel I’d defo have good natter with you! Whenever I’ve discussed a case with anybody I know they don’t seem that interested and the conversation just evaporates to something else - whereas I like to find loads out and dissect the case. This thread has opened more flood gates open, hadn’t seen coverage of some.
I have to come on here to get it all out as the OH's eyes just glaze over when I start
Occasionally, he'll be interested but, for the most part, not so much so feel free to natter away any time
I watch a lot of USA real life crime TV shows (far too many) and I know people are fascinated with the Chris Watts' and Lori Daybell's of this world but I think some of the most interesting/dreadful/mind blowing cases happen right here and don't get the coverage they deserve so that's why I share some of the cases that I'm following.
