Oh I thought he might have taken his own life. But yours sounds more plausible!
Sounds like a suicide to me. Apparently, he made a previous attempt very recently and Mail Online is giving out the Samaritan's phone number, which is standard in suicide cases.

I did wonder that, but it was such a public place.

Ohh that explains more. Can’t believe his defence brushed off the suicide threats when he had told them in custody what he planned to do 😔

I am relieved there’s no wider risk.

Has anyone been watching the new documentary series on C4 tonight, Imposter: The Man Who Came back from the Dead?
It's about Nicholas Rossi AKA Arthur Knight.

Really enjoying it so far. It's made me laugh a few times, how pathetic and deluded he and his wife come across. There has been a few twists and turns so far and it's really well made I think.

I think all four eps on are available on catch-up already.
Watched the whole thing. Absolutely mental the most stupid thing was the judge in Utah not understanding what the duck was going on when he said he was called Arthur Knight.

I was flabbergasted by the podcaster in episode two when she thought he might not be Nicholas Rossi.

The wife I thought was totally innocent but she's a crackpot too!

I think the rumoured name on X is an ex BBC sports news presenter who won strictly. But it could be anyone. Normal people were presenting MOTD so unlikely to be Linekar\Shearer\Wright.

But there are so many Sky presenters that it could be... its hard to say.

ETA its likely their child was the victim given the ages involved and the length of time of the abuse, which is very sad.
From what I've heard, it's highly likely BBC sports related.

I think they were potentially arrested last May (although seems weird to seize devices a year later) and they took out an injunction last July - that's probably available online.

Has anyone heard of the Karen Read trial? It is ongoing now in the US, state of Massachusetts. She is accused of murder - hitting her boyfriend with a car and leaving him for dead to freeze to death in a snow storm. The court sessions are being streamed live, courtTV streams them as well as some lawyer you tubers that also give commentary. It’s 15 days into the case and the prosecution still hasn’t put forth any scientific evidence to explain how he died and how she did it. Her defense is that she’s been framed by local police. Her boyfriend was a Boston POlice officer. The owner of the property he was found on is also a Boston Police officer (retired now) and has many connections to the local police (his brother is a local police man.) Her lawyers are excellent to watch. Somehow the FBI also has investigated and provided evidence but no one understands how they are involved.

I'm watching it. The prosecution still has a duck load of witnesses to bring in. I actually am getting annoyed by her lawyers trying to make issues out of certain things when there seem to be so many other issues.

What the hell? How is this a good thing?!
German pro-pedophile activist group Krumme-13 (K13), which is described in German media as a so-called “self-help” organization for “pedosexuals,” have issued an announcement to its members offering legal advice to circumvent the law until the bill is passed.

WTF. This is all vile. What's wrong with Germany?!

And why is a newspaper still using the term 'child-porn'. Its 2024.
Child pornography doesn't exist - its a term that seeks to legitimise the contents.
Call it what it is - without exception - its the Images and Videos of the rape and abuse of innocent babies and children.

Agree…sometimes her lawyers seem they are going down an avenue that isn’t too important. But maybe it all ties up in the end somehow. I’m annoyed the prosecution has gone over so many irrelevant things but not given evidence of the timeline and injuries. That would make the other witness’ testimony more relevant. If person a, b, c all were at the house at 12:30am does it matter if the prosecution says something happened at 1 am!! We don’t know!! We don’t know their theory and evidence of the case.

I feel like the prosecution are spending a lot of time trying to debunk the conspiracy theory the defence is putting forward rather than focusing on their own case. We will get the testimony about the injuries John suffered but it seems they are leaving it to the end. Maybe keeling their strongest evidence until last.

Child porn is a term I hate. I also hate the word "nonce" and the term "kiddy fiddler". They are crass and so reductive.

Jury are now deliberating in the Simon Shotton case. They are both clearly liars, but I don’t think they can find Atkins guilty on the count of murder, even if they want to, it’s just not 100% certain that he wasn’t acting in self defence.
---
Pereira has clearly perverted the course of justice so will probably be found guilty of that, but not murder.
Verdicts in.

Pereira guilty of perverting the course of justice, not guilty for murder.

Atkins guilty of murder. I am shocked that it was a majority 11-1 verdict. I thought a couple more would lean towards self defence. Not saying I believe that, but it wasn’t completely beyond reasonable doubt.

Very surprised too - I thought manslaughter but thankfully the jury was not taken in.

I guess that's not even a minimum? She deserves longer.
2/3 to be served in prison and the remaining 1/3 on licence. The sentencing guidelines are 8 to 18 years, with a starting point of 12...tbh it's more than I was expecting.

I hope every single minute of every single day the other inmates make her life a living hell.

I'm really surprised the nursery owners got off without punishment - surely that should be corporate manslaughter?
