Even a lot of the media coverage Andrew gets these days jumps around the actual reason he's not a working Royal and has been shunned by everyone

i said any REAL repercussions. Not being allowed to play military dress up and paying off a victim that it’s rumoured his mummy helped him with isn’t a punishment. I firmly believe that he should stand trial in the USA for his crimes. I know that’s not going to happen because he was fortunate enough to be born into royalty and they are apparently above everything but I’m sick of there being some air of him being treated above what he did but Megan can’t turn up appropriately dressed to a funeral and do everything she’s supposed to without a new hole being installed.
It was only ever a civil case and the complainant settled as most do in civil cases. I genuinely don't see how the RF could do more than they've done. They couldn't ban him from his mother's funeral. I suspect he'll disappear back under his rock now

A real repercussion would be to lose his title and his HRH and become ‘plain’ old Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. But that won’t happen, unless new information comes to light. He wanted Bea and Eug to play a part in the Royal Family as a firm and he’s got his wish as Bea has the title/role of counsellor of state. If Andrew and Harry are removed Eugénie will then replace Harry (and Edward would replace Andrew). Now Harry and Meghan have quit, Andrew can’t take on roles and the Wales’ children are too young it could be that Bea and Eug have some role as representing the Royals, we don’t really know at this stage.
But I digress a bit there. I think untimely it would be lovely for Charles, Harry and Meghan to heal their rift. It does feel like Harry had years of pent up resentment and he let it all come out. That way Archie and Lili can see their grandfather more. Maybe in time the rift can heal with William and Kate but I’m not sure, William seems like he is a lot more angrier than Charles.

im not talking about the civil case that Virginia bought against him I mean a proper trial for his crime, he gave Epstein money for his endeavours and he had sex with young women who are trafficked. Crimes. Crimes that need to be investigated properly and people need to be prosecuted for. You think he should just go under his rock for that? People who are sex trafficked cannot consent to sex, it’s the big glaring R word that I likely can’t say on this website. That’s a serious crime, not an “oh well take his titles from him and it’ll all go away”.

besides my whole point is that it annoys me that people excuse him constantly when he actually did something horrific, but Megan can’t breathe without being accused of wearing a wire and called a c u next Tuesday. There’s a double standard there that is unacceptable imo.

a real repercussion would be going to prison for assaulting sex trafficked women. Not told he isn’t a royal highness anymore off to your paid for house.

I haven't read anything about people excusing him, not sure where others are seeing this.

So Katie Nicholl has written a new book about the Royals and allegedly when Harry suggested that they bring in a mediator to work through their problems, Camilla spluttered over her tea. Does anyone think it’s a bit rich that Camilla had that sort of reaction to a positive move to resolve their tensions? I get that Camilla has ‘proved her worth’ or whatever but she was one of the people who caused that family so much pain, so I don’t really think it’s her place to have such a reaction. Mediators can be really helpful so for Camilla to say that his suggestion was ‘ridiculous’ seems a bit silly.

Genuine question - are these kinds of books legit?

I think because they say ‘a source from the palace’ and use the words allegedly a lot they get away with it but honestly I’m not sure. I would imagine there’s some truth because otherwise the celebrities who are featured in books like this would sue?

The Royal Family never really sue which is how people get away with these books. The mantra “Never complain, never explain” is one The Queen, and also Camilla in particular, hold on to as their strongest beliefs.

I don’t tend to believe anything these types of things say, it’s like reading the Daily Mail and taking it at face value in my opinion.

If it is true, I think it’s a good approach for Harry to have taken where he is trying to fix his relationship.

also @thegirlscout I am enjoying your replies on the RF thread 😂

Thank you that’s very kind!

True but they have sued in the past, so I guess it’s if the statements are big enough to go through the hassle.

Haha, they’re all a mix of known facts, speculative tit, made up nonsense accredited to a “palace source”, and the occasional genuine leak from a royal. People will say they believe the books that support the biases they already have, and discard the ones they don’t. I honestly think they’re all garbage written by people who pretend to be tight with the royals when they’re not. I haven’t taken any “royal experts” seriously since that exposé that shown a bunch of them making up their reactions to the Oprah interview without even seeing it 😂 they all talk out their a!

Give me an impartial biography of a dead royal any day over the dreck that gets pumped out about the current ones!

As for suing, I guess lawyers check to make sure they’ve said “allegedly” enough, and most of those books don’t seem to impact the public enough to sue over? There’s always the risk of creating a Streisand Effect if you make a fuss.

I agree completely. I haven’t bought any before. However, I am planning on buying Gyles Brandreth’s book on the Queen next year when it’s out as I’m intrigued about her. That being said I will be buying it with the full knowledge he will be favourably biased and positive towards her.

I can’t stand sour-faced Camilla lol. She’s lucky Harry gives her the time of day tbh. I feel similarly about Charles btw.

Also we are finally due a new thread soon so any name suggestions??

What do we think about this article?

Regardless of content, there’s a reason they chose that photo
The fact that so many people who worked with Meghan prior to royal life have made a point of coming out and saying how kind she was (and that’s from cast mates to crew to people who just happened to be working near a set she was on) speaks volumes about who she really is. There wasn’t one negative story but suddenly she turned into a nightmare screaming at people? Something doesn’t add up.

The author’s book has a particular agenda to push, one that favours certain royals, and the media are going to jump on the negative things about Meghan because they’re desperate to put her back in her place after the positive reactions she had while in the UK these last couple of weeks.

I do think her ‘wake up at 5am and send emails and get things done’ work ethic was probably a sticking point with staffers who were used to how William and Kate work and I’m sure there were high stress moment but I also think this has been over exaggerated to create an image of a screaming bully (which happens to fit nicely into the racist stereotype of the aggressive black woman 😉)

Haven’t had much of a chance to post here!
Are there any updates? Have they gone back to America yet?
i have seen that the press have slightly slowed down on the coverage of these two which is something

i think they have gone back but there’s no proof of that! I suppose the press can’t rip her apart as much when she’s not visible. I think they’re still going for it though with news of how they want to edit their Netflix show to remove “jabs” at Will and Charles, one of their bodyguards has a history of domestic violence and how they could be worried they’re being edged out because their pictures are now low on the royal family website 😂

I believe I read somewhere that Meghan may be receiving an award for charitable endeavours at GQ Men of the Year Awards and if that’s the case she will be back in November. And her podcast should now be resuming episodes next week as the royal period of mourning is over

That’s fair enough! I suppose it’s a good thing that the news commentary on whether she coughed or wore *shock horror* a black dress to a funeral has stopped/slowed down.

I did see that about them being low down on their website, like so what? People were saying “good, they deserve it” but ultimately Harry is low down in the line of succession, so I can’t imagine they’d be higher up on the website anyway?
