It is harrowing and heartbreaking. Each day the evidence seems to be as awful as the previous day. Preston had no respite from the abuse imposed upon him. Even though I am only reading what is posted in lancs live, I can hear each expert’s anger and they are delivering their opinions so powerfully it hurts to read.Today's evidence has been very upsetting so far, but at the same time, really damning in the fact I hope it nails these two. I just feel so sad for that sweet little boy

I am not understanding the fracture... why did the hospital think it was fine and a reasonable explanation and now they are saying it would have been due to force and he would have screamed in pain.
If the hospital picked this up in the first place then surely red flags would have been raised and he might still be alive now. Not blaming hospital just dont understand why

Dr Gifford is doing an incredible job of explaining to the jury that Preston was definitely not having seizures and his presentation is due to asphyxia. She's also very clear to explain why his bruises canny be anything other than deliberate forceful injuries.
Oh wow so he was on a spinning thing in the park and they prize his eyes open with their fingers to film his eye movement. Honestly they are sick sick individuals cruel evil.... poor preston knew he wasn't loved by these 2 monsters with them saying frozen watchfulness but different on his grandparents knee. As a mum to 4 kids this is absolutely breaking me ! They are not going to last long in prison i hope they get tortured.
I can't imagine that the defence will have much of a case to present but rather will try to cast reasonable doubt of the evidence presented by the prosecution. Like he is trying to do with suggesting a toy could have caused the mark that was a bite.
The defence have a difficult case to defend but I am glad it's BNE because we can be sure his efforts will be robust enough to stand up to any potential appeal, once they are (not if, when) convicted.

Plus the sheer arrogance of thinking they could get away with it. His last months were filled with pain and terror and no sentence in the land is enough for them.

I think we have only heard a fraction of the horror in this case. There's videos and images mentioned that I'm not sure we've heard before. And I still wonder what was with the hot tub image given JV wanted to distance himself from it in interview. I think what we have heard is absolutely damning so I have no doubt the jury will be sure.
I’m going to try and offer some suggestions here but they may be distressing to read.
we can assume this wasn’t the first assault, especially considering how often he was ill. Depending on what was used previously, it may not have been enough to cause a perforated bowel. I will leave you to consider what things may have occurred.
Re the breathing difficulties - i think JV (or both of them) thought they were being ‘careful’, hence the timer (imo) and that any health related issues that Preston did develop, could be blamed on the history of his biological parents. Someone suggested they could have planned to have a failed adoption and give him back. But they also could have planned to carry on doing this, I actually don’t think they thought he was going to die - he’d recovered every other time, they kept getting away with things and I think they started to feel they were untouchable

I dislike the term “breath play” because it downplays what it is: strangulation. It should never be normalised, we need to educate teenagers that it’s not a normal or expected sexual act, it’s dangerous, and it kills women (I’m not sure many men have died - not counting those who’ve throttled themselves in some bizarre solo act.
Watkins at least never tried to hide what a deviant he was. These two hid behind a veneer of respectability.
It's nearly impossible to comprehend that JV and JMF adopted Preston solely to abuse him
but it must be the case because it's obvious that JV hates Preston.Not only sexually abusing him but hitting, slapping, gripping and handling him roughly, breaking his arm
shouting at him and startling him and keeping him awake and spinning him too fast on that ride And the way he looks at photos and footage of Preston, in that police interview where he has the blond hair, he's looking at him with absolute contempt
This is the baby that allegedly drowned accidentally, you'd be devastated looking at the photos, but there's not one ounce of sadness or regard for Preston
It's like once they got him into their "care" they expected him to be completely like a doll, compliant?
But instead he was "hard work", keeping them awake at night
So they hated him, not that they were ever going to love him - they wanted a slave, awful as that sounds, a compliant one
It was like an experiment of a sick fantasy that they had but it wasn't working out quite like they had planned.

Agree with you all. They adopted him for one reason and one reason only.
I think they abused him daily, but were careful in that they didn’t record any of it so there was no evidence. But obviously JV was careless those few times that there is footage.
