Does anyone have any recommendations for travel systems? It’s been a while since my last baby and wow the market has grown.
What’s considered a good brand and what’s not? Obviously I don’t want to pay stupid money but would like something fairly decent In quality/reliability terms.

@elloelloello have you had much morning sickness yet? I am nauseous from the moment I wake up til the moment I go to bed. It’s awful and I’m not even 6 weeks yet.
Not yet, I actually feel fine aside from sore boobs! I was really really sick when I had my daughter and it hit me from about 6 weeks so I’m just bracing myself.

I recommend anything with ginger in! Ginger tea, ginger biscuits, ginger anything really helped me❤

I hate ‘breast is best’. No. Fed is best. My friend felt so much pressure to breast feed that her son started to lose weight. The moment he was put on formula he gained weight like anything. I’m a firm believer in doing what is right for you and your baby because in 18 years, no child is going to give a damn about how they were fed as an infant.
My cousins partner was all ‘breast is best’ with her first baby as she breastfed her. Then she had her 2nd baby in the summer of this year and had to end up formula feeding as the 2nd baby didn’t take to breastfeeding which is perfectly fine, but think she’s now changed her tune about it

Ladies can I ask something really embarrassing 🙈 I’ve been desperate to ask someone but feel really stupid and at least I’m anonymous here.

I’m 24 weeks with my first. I’ve only slept with 1 person and I’m mid 20s so I’ve never had a smear test etc. To be honest I’ve never had anything ‘medical’ happen to me in my life so naturally finding this all very strange and very anxious about it all.

I have always found sex quite painful / uncomfortable and always felt like my partner is too ‘big’ (he’s average it just ‘feels’ that way!). I also find tampons quite painful to use. I went to the doctors about the sex thing when I was at uni as it would cause me to bleed and they just told me to use more lube and sent me away. Nobody has ever actually checked it out. (Boyfriend was also a virgin Til he met me so can’t tell me what’s ‘normal’ or not 😂)

anyway now I’m really scared that medically I might have something ‘wrong’ down there or I might be quite small/ have an issue and nobody would know about it (until it’s too late and I can’t push a baby out of there!!)

Is it possible to be too small to give birth 🙈 (btw I’m not a small person I’m a 5ft7 wide hipped size lady!!)

i am really considering raising this with my midwife and asking her to ‘take a look’ to settle my nerves as I feel like a freak 🙈🙈 would that be nuts?!
Read about vagimismus. It could be a case of that.

My sister has a joie travel system and it’s great, although she doesn’t like the sun hood on it. Their car seats are fabulous so it’s definitely a bonus

I’ve had a mamas and papas sola in the past as well and can’t fault it. My parents now use it for my nephew at their house and love it. I think you can get adapters for it for other brands of car seat eg maxi cosi.

The other one I know of which always gets excellent reviews from anyone I know who has it is the Uppababy.
Sola is the one I have had for years! Loved it

Ohhhhhh I think it might be a bit like Emma’s diary. I got one in my first trimester but didn’t rate it it I’m honest 😕 I’ll have a look at bounty though!
The latest Emma’s diary one is really good, loads of decent stuff, the bounty one is shite at the minute but they’ve gone into administration so I wonder if their partners have pulled out.
I need to do this, have you got your bounty pack? I got a pack of newborn nappies in there so il be chucking that in my hospital bag xx
I’ve been reading hospital packing lists that say take a good half pack of nappies?! 10 at least but I have no idea if that’s correct.
By the time I’ve put them in, some inco pants/massive maternity pads I’ve filled half my bag

I’ve just found out the other day I should have been on the ‘smoking pathway’ since I was smoking in the 12 weeks before getting pregnant. As I’d stopped by the time of my booking appt they didn’t flag me. Already missed one growth scan I should have had but have one scheduled next week now. I’m quite happy about that tbh, just to confirm her position as much as anything else but I still find scans so nerve-racking.

I had a polyp on my cervix during my first pregnancy, it would bleed after sex or if I’d strained for a 💩 (sorry for the overshare). It didn’t cause any issue really, and I had it removed in a simple procedure when baby was 6 months old.
Thanks for the reply!! When you had bleeding was it fresh red blood?
She seemed confident it the polyp that’s caused the bleeding but Iv just been so worried all day xxx

I had a polyp on my cervix during my last pregnancy, I was bleeding at 24 weeks. They did remove mine, it was painless and quick and I even had the joy of watching it on the screen. It stopped my bleeding.
Did you get a choice to leave it or have it removed?

Thanks, actually feel a bit silly now because a few minutes after writing that I (TMI) had to let a big one rip and it seemed to alleviate it 😂 I didn't even realise I was that gassy tonight!
I feel like permanently gassy and bloated but I do get like small pains but they last a second if that then go away also very constipated 🤣 x

I am not pregnant... but wonder has anyone on here got vaginismus and been pregnant??

I have medical vaginismus (can have sex okay) due to a traumatic medical experience as a teen. I have spoken with my gyne about future pregnancy and of course the talk of internal examinations came up. I can't have a pap smear done now unless done under mild sedation due to my vaginismus. I was meant to start exposure therapy for it but then covid happened.

Anyway, if anyone also has this and been pregnant, I am wondering did you manage the internal exams?

My husband and I have been talking about having a baby recently. It would probably be in the next two years or so.
Where abouts in the world are you? In the UK I don’t believe they give any internal examinations (apart from checking dilation during labour, and they try and limit that). The risk of introducing infection is seen as too great

I’m only 12 weeks and we are 70/30 on the names Fiadh or Sadhbh. I want to give it a little longer to see what feels right but I always knew I didn’t want the stress of naming her when she’s here. My husband and I both like the idea of calling her by her name before she’s here. I’ve a friend who’s baby is a week old and she still has no name, I feel like postpartum I would be in no state to think of a name she will have for the rest of her life 😂
My (much younger) cousin had no name until they were forced to go and register him at 6 weeks! They tried 3 different names in that time and discarded them all 🙈

I’ve felt sick since before I got my positive test at 3 weeks. It’s just gradually got worse and worse. My mom mentioned ginger but I really don’t like it. I considered ginger tea but I feel like tasting something I don’t like will just add to feeling sick. I’m just gonna have to wait it out.
Aw sorry to hear that. Keep an eye on if and if it gets unbearable tell your gp/midwife.
I have had on and off nausea but not actually been sick and it’s passed really fast.
The taste isn’t great but when I feel sick I drink twinings detox tea and it sorts me right out, not the best taste but does the trick x

So I’m 16+2 and seeing my midwife tomorrow (shocked I’m actually seeing someone!), and for the past 24 hours I’ve had very light period type cramps on and off in my belly. Also a feeling of sharp pulling lower down where my uterus is.

It’s my first baby so I’m not sure if this is normal? I’d rather not fall down the rabbit hole of google
That all sounds normal! 😊😊

Is anyone else getting worried about not being able to buy bits for the baby due to covid restrictions/lockdown until March? I’m T4 in Essex atm. I’m due in May and will buy most things online but I’m clueless about prams and had planned to start looking this month so I could have a look/try out a few. I also need to upgrade my car as it’s tiny, panicking now that I won’t have a chance to get either before baby arrives!
ME! Luckily I'm not dye until July but we had planned to have a day starting to browse baby bits after our scan to get a feel for the big stuff, prams, how much they cost, what sort of sleeping arrangement works best in our little flat etc. Now with tier 4 everything is shut and although I don't need to buy anything now I wanted to start learning what I need and figuring out what it is going to cost. As a FTM and no family local I know nothing! 😂

Hopefully you will still be okay for May, but it definitely adds an annoying stress to it all.

Hey guys quick question for you all has anyone had bleeding early on I’m pregnancy, I’m 61/2 weeks but I had bleeding on Thursday and it’s stopped now more like a period I’m so confused as to what’s going on I have a scan tomorrow to find out but my mind is going crazy

How awful for you. It’s horrible and so so scary. It’s so difficult but try and not to get too anxious, you are in the right place if anything happens!
Just having a hard time accepting this is likely to continue all through pregnancy

My partner was allowed to come to my 13 week scan but received a letter a while back saying no partners for the 20 week scan and was upset about that, so very, very happy with the news.

Me! I've had them all the way through. I'm 20 weeks now and get them maybe twice a week. I do have high BP which they've prescribed me aspirin for so I think that has something to do with it. Its worth getting checked out. I used the 4head stick to help with mine. Hope they ease soon
I had some really bad ones near the start. Try 4Head strips and the roll on. I still carry the roll on stick with me when I leave the house as still get the odd one.

Eek I was hoping they were just a first trimester thing. I actually have slightly low BP and keep feeling faint in the shower too. Thanks for the 4head recommendations, never heard of that before so will check it out!

Oh another strange symptom, my bladder feels so so weird in the morning! I always wake up busting to go (which is normal even not in pregnancy) but now it's almost like a weird ache that I can feel up to my chest. I defo don't have a UTI as my urine was tested v recently. Assuming it's just down to all the internal changes occurring 🤷‍♀️
