If you can book private first for sure.
We did this yesterday at just over 9 weeks and unfortunately had the bad news 😢
I now have to go to my local hospital for a scan on my own and talk through my options on how the baby will come
Out. Really scared to do this alone but there’s nothing I can do. I’m so glad my husband was there yesterday when we were told the news, and I didn’t wait to find out on my own.
I really hope everything goes amazing for you ❤
So sorry for your loss. It’s devastating ☹
Have they said you have to go alone? That seems very cruel considering they know you have already had bad news

I always had name that I loved for a girl and now I’m having one I don’t like it 🤣
I’m the same! I’ve had a list of baby names on my phone for years and as soon as I found out I was pregnant suddenly I didn’t like any of them 😂

Does anyone have any recommendations for travel systems? It’s been a while since my last baby and wow the market has grown.
What’s considered a good brand and what’s not? Obviously I don’t want to pay stupid money but would like something fairly decent In quality/reliability terms.
We are looking at the Oyster 3, depending on what package you take I think the most expensive one is £850 x

I’d really recommend having a read through the NHS website pregnancy pages. It will help awareness of the things that are just normal and the things that can indicate problems and need checking. It’s a good resource.
Thank you ❤

I am planning to breastfeed but as this is my first baby I obviously have no idea how I will find it. One thing I don't like is the mental gymnastics to make bottle feeding on par with breast milk. Ultimately not everyone can breastfeed for various reasons and bottle feeding is a totally fine method to feed your baby, but in an attempt to not shame bottle feeding mums there seems to be a new huge resistance to accepting that breast milk is better nutritionally. It just seems anti science to me.
If I can't stick with breastfeeding I will happily feed with formula but I can acknowledge the benefits of one without rubbishing the other.

It is interesting I've seem lots of comments where people complain about how breastfeeding is too heavily pushed these days. I'm 30 and when I was born in NI the hospital put babies right on formula. I have loads of younger cousins and not one of them were breastfeed because the hospital pushed formula instantly. I think advocating for breast is better than those days at least.
Exactly this! I KNOW that nutritionally breast milk is best, and I’ve always breast fed at birth until about 16 weeks, but then they’ve all been formula fed.
I’ve been asked prior to birth about how I want to feed but I’ve never been made to feel guilty or pushed either way.

I’m not saying that this is what I wanted to do but if I wanted to go for an elective c-section, are they going to really try and talk me out of it? I know quite a few female docs and always find it interesting as the ones who have had children have all had elective c sections! Just wondered if anyone could shed any light onto if I asked for one, would they actually do it?

Phew! I was going to make a list on my phone over the next few weeks then go to the supermarket and blitz their maternity pads and nappy sections 😂 will start my bag when I start my perineal massage at 35/40 - oh the glamour!!
Do you think perineal massages help? I started them with my first at 30 weeks and ended up with a 3rd degree tear 😂
Didn't bother with my second and it was only a small tear 😂

Did they not give you an in person element of the booking appointment? Take your bloods etc?

Re breast feeding. To me it’s like there’s some kind of cult going on with some Mums that heavily push it. I’m in some antinatal FB groups and the same ladies pop up on anything feeding related ‘have you considered BF, it’s such a good option. Join us over on xyzbreastfedgroup’. Then it’s all about golden boobies, breast milk jewellery, dry feeding, comfort nursing and starting/ending whatever ‘journey’. There’s Mums asking how to get their kids to keep feeding when they don’t want to because they’re ‘not ready to give up their bf journey’. Any Mum that’s thinking of giving up is bombarded with a million options not to until you’ve spent a fortune on lactation specialists. This is across numerous groups, not just one hardcore one. My healthcare professionals have said nothing but it’s personal choice, it’s good to try if you can though for the health benefits whereas the other mums are all over everyone.

My family all breastfed whereas MIL didn’t. My family think if you don’t breast feed you’re really missing out whereas MIL thinks B feeding a child over about 1 is the weirdest thing going and OH is a bit in the dark ages about it too. I can see it being quite an obstacle 😔
(I’ll do WTF I like obviously, but you just don’t need the judgement do you)
I had to go to a clinic thing where they took bloods just sending 1 woman in after the other.
No urine or anything checked though, just went into a big room, sat on the chairs in the waiting room and called in 1 by 1!

Was your red fresh blood?

I have been told there is a polyp there so I’m guessing the internal has irritated it!! It’s been a long horrible day... waiting to hear follow up app and praying the bleeding stops
Yeah it was 👍 it turned brown then stopped completely after about a day or so

Has anyone had exceptionally weird, even non-food cravings, particularly in the third trimester? I always thought cravings came at the start of pregnancy

My 12 week scan I got a letter with the date. Midwife appts I’ve had to chase up myself.

I’m having growth scans so have had less midwife appts. I’m 37 weeks tomorrow and will be having my 3rd appt with her.
You have less midwife appointments if you're having growth scans?
I've had growth scans with all 3 and my appointments with the midwife are the same

So this being my 3rd pregnancy to this point,
I've never had a similar pain so curious if others have 😂
I originally thought maybe it was the start of a UTI 🤔
But I keep getting a constant cramp right at the bottom of my stomach.
Originally it was getting worse if I needed to pee or had just peed... Now, it's every time I'm not sitting.
Even lying in bed, I get woken up with it 🤔
It lasts about half an hour at a time just 1 constant long cramp 🤷🏼‍♀️

Awkward question 🙈 I’m 22 weeks and have been awake all night with pain/pressure in my bum. Has anyone else has this, should I be worried? I also have a little cramping in my legs. I’ve tried searching online but can’t really see much info. Totally freaking out as I’ve heard that it can be a sign of labour but it’s obviously way too early for that. I can still feel baby kicking away and had low placenta at 20 week scan xx

Does anyone know if private scan clinics closed during lockdown? I’m impatiently waiting until tomorrow so I can call and find out if I still have an appointment 😫

I would go with what the gynaecologist said to you. Was this appt with your GP? They are unlikely to have superior knowledge to a gynaecologist on this specific issue and the gynaecologist would be the one listing you for any procedures.
yeah app was with gp, was just to get something to help me to to loo!
I did think the same, from all Iv seen they leave them alone til after pregnancy.... but you know when you just can’t help but worry when told differently

I think with Prams it'll have to be down to reviews.
I'm looking for a new one and due end of March but have no idea what they feel or look like in person.
Every time I've seen someone pushing one I've had a good look 😂 without seeming too creepy and staring haha!
Would not recommend a silver cross pram - It’s awful to work with

I think I read somewhere up to 6-8 weeks to order in? But obv depends what and where you order from.

Have you bought anything at all yet even just a token item of clothing? I feel like if I do I will tempt fate so I haven't yet. Also wondering when is a good time to start practicing hypnobirthing techniques and also online antenatal classes etc.

im also due in July, and hoping there’s time to look in shops. I have literally no idea where to start!
anyone know how long they take to order in?

I wait until at least 30 weeks to buy anything because I just worry too much about things going wrong.
My partner lost a baby late on so he's very cautious about buying things before then too

Sounds partly normal and partly like SPD/PGP have you had a read on them?
