Lost my mucus plus this morning (39+6). Never happened in my first pregnancy where I got to 42 weeks with nothing. How long did it take people to go into labour after losing it?! Kind of hoping I get through the heat wave first as I don’t fancy being in a boiling hospital giving birth!
Half an hour after losing mine my waters broke, 3 hours after I had my first contractions, 7 hours after I had my baby 🙈

would international travel at 30ish weeks be a fools errand? (Or like everything is it "well it depends" and there'll be equal numbers of people saying "I would NEVER want to go abroad at 30 weeks I was having a miserable time" "I went abroad at 30 weeks and had a ball".)

We're wanting to plan babymoon but with wanting to avoid peak school hol season / work annual peaks it wouldn't be til October. Unlikely to want to go far abroad, would probably factor in medical care availability into destination just in case, and intention just to sit on a sun lounger and or light mooching round towns and the like

I went to Palma when I was 29 weeks and had a lovely time relaxing, wasn’t asked for a fit to fly or anything
I’d go again if we had more time before baby is due

I think you know your body best and know if you’d be ok or maybe book last minute?

I'm 32 and honestly this week was harsh. Really wish my prenatal leave to start.

I am 29 weeks and currently in Cyprus. I didn’t find the travel any different than not being pregnant (minus glass of wine at the airport). I’ve spent the whole week relaxing and in and out of the water with our 3 year old. I’ve definitely not stayed up as late as I usually would but being pregnant hasn’t affected the holiday.

The newborn prams have me so confused. Why must they all be so clunky. I tried a few out around a shop yesterday and the back wheels on most just seem disproportionately large and awkward. I know most travel systems will take you from newborn to toddler stage, but I already have my eye on another nippy looking stroller that I will probably buy once the child is a bit more sturdy, I find them much neater and easier to manoeuvre. So really I don’t think I need a travel system with loads of different attachments and awkward clunky bits, I just need a newborn pram that doesn’t have huge monster truck back wheels that take up most of the pavement and isn’t going to be a pain to get inside my tight front door! Is it too much to ask 🤪

I did buy a chunky beast because I wanted all terrain wheels so we could make the most of where we live, but I went to one of these pram megastore places and although it was like 1hr45 minute drive away (each way!) it was totally worth it as they were able to demonstrate everything, were completely unpushy about any brand or type or even about buying anything, we were equally left alone to try everything out and put attachments on and off and wheel stuff about. We went twice, once to get our heads around stuff and once to purchase. Helped us as two newbies who had no clue at all! I’ve seen decent ranges in Smyths as well, the wheels looked a bit more dainty which will suit urban environments!

Check out the yoyo, we got this when our little one was about 9 months old. I had a big chunky bugaboo with huge wheels and it weighed a ton and took so much space in the boot I wanted something lighter for city living. Also cabin approved so can be taken straight on the plane.

Cautiously dipping my toe in this thread at just over 4w to say hello and to see if anyone else has just found out they're pregnant! Having had previous mc's and cp's I don't want to tempt fate, but all seems well so far.

I’m having a sloowww time of it, second sweep today- 3cm dilated now 😂 at least it’s progressing slightly!

Had my first scan today, I was just going to wait until my NHS one (poss another 4 weeks) but somebody told me they had a missed miscarriage over the weekend and it got me worrying. Everything was well and it put my mind at rest.

First sweep today. Had a bloody show this morning and was expecting positive news at sweep but only 2cm and head is not far down enough to press on cervix yet. Booooooo

I’ve literally just had the bloody show! I’m right there with you haha :) when was/is your due date again? The hospital had me as 21/6 but when I found out I was pregnant I used my exact dates as 24/6 so will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow! All the best to you ❤

Hospital had me as 22/6 but based on my ovulation date I think 27th! Same to you!
