What are some good snacks to keep in your handbag? I’ve started getting a crazy hunger, I can be fine, head out and 10 mins later I feel starving and must eat! Not too bad at home but I need to keep some food on me for when I am in work or travelling. Small individual packets of snacks is what I am thinking, nothing that will melt or go bad.
Mini cheddars - the Red Leicester ones are elite
Could get some zip lock bags and make your own trail mix with nuts and raisins - maybe some dried apricots (not too many as you’ll get the squits)
Mini rice cakes
Mini breadsticks

Does anyone have recommendations for good maternity/nursing bras that aren’t hideous and mostly cotton?

And Husband has found out today he's definitely being made redundant with immediate effect as are most of his team so that's really taken a massive tit on our special newborn bubble. Gone from being so happy to now wondering how we're going to survive until he finds something else 🖕🏻

Amazon! I got a 3 pack and they are fab!

I’m feeling exactly this today. Little muff has been a bit quieter but I was relatively active yesterday so I’m trying not to overthink things. I also don’t feel “as pregnant” - but maybe little one just did more growing last week and is having a chiller time. Ugh it’s all so annoying. Just let me enjoy this 🙈
I’m still in two minds. The minute I thought ‘yeah, my movements have been reduced today’ he’s been more apparent to me. Of course by this point I’d told MrDragName so he is v. worried. So, I am probably going to end up calling triage at some point and let them decide what I should do. Although, as I type this he’s wriggling about happy as Larry. He’s a wee trouble maker, this one.

Tesco’s ‘value range’ slightly sorted tortilla chips have been a constant for me. Big bag but I decant into a small lock and lock box thingy. I also like Nature Valley bars but they’re extremely dry so water alongside is necessary. Nairns do packets of reduced sugar oat biscuits, the chocolate chip ones are amazing and it’s 4 thin biscuits in an individual packet which is a great amount. Also, multi packs of sweet and salted popcorn. I’ve gone from barely remembering to eat one meal a day to being the queen of snacking!

How many weeks are you now?
I’ve got an anterior placenta so sometimes I feel the movements are reduced then have a cold drink and lay down and I can feel her kicking away or if I’m wiped out and need to sit down it’s like she knows and starts dancing away 😂

So I’ve had 24 hours of the hormonal pessary to dilate and ripen my cervix. I was getting some tightenings, some back pain, so I thought hmm things are working! 🥰 I must be about 4-5cm dilated now! 🥰

midwife came to assess me today after 24 hours and I am a grand total of LESS than 1cm dilated 🤣🤣🤣

I’m laughing but I could actually cry. I’ve had a sweep, I’ve had the pessary, I had another sweep and now they’ve shoved the prostin tablet in my cervix for another 6 hours. I’m sorry but I’m a bit tired of having fingers in and out of my vag. This baby has been serviced an eviction notice and is illegally squatting in my uterus!!

Bless you, and all of this in a hot hospital at the start of a heatwave ❤ Hope things are progressing for you soon!

Thank you lovely, it is roasting in the hospital, fans are in limited quantities but thankfully I packed a fan, even if it’s just a mini handheld one. Easily the best thing I bought with me! 🥵

26 tomorrow with a posterior placenta. He ended up being nicely active (but not crazy style!) in the evening and night time. I think he’d just had a bit of a ‘lie in’ yesterday and if got my anxiety in a tailspin. He’s been ‘normal’ all day today.

Feeling sorry for myself atm.
Had to have surgery late last night to remove an infected cyst, and my God it was so bloody painful, not sure how I'm gonna cope with labour 😂. Been on antibiotics a week and have another weeks worth now. Can't eat for 2 hours before taking them so I can't snack etc as I normally would to keep the sickness under control during the day and it's such a struggle! Feeling really sick and hot and in pain this evening!

Morning all, hope you’re all coping in this hot weather ❤ I’ve got my first sweep today (39+5)
My whole pregnancy I was adamant I wouldn’t have any… my first baby, I had 3 failed sweeps and was told no way was he coming anytime soon (spoiler:he came of his own accord anyway 😂) but my midwife told me they’re often a bit more successful second time round as your cervix never fully closes after the first birth! And I’m fed up now so willing to try 😂

ooh good luck! I have mine on Monday (40+1). I also had 3 sweeps first time round and ended up being induced at 42 weeks. Hoping it’s true that it’s more successful second time!
