Thank you!!! I’ve got an anterior placenta so I’m thinking to call them before I book for some advice

I have a question re. early private scans. I’ve heard mixed reviews about them. I’m 6 weeks tomorrow but feeling incredibly anxious as both my mother and sister have had multiple losses. My sister has said she’s heard quite a lot of negative things about private scans…. Have people had early scans and how did they go?
I went at 6 weeks thinking I was 7 weeks based off the date of my last period. The advice from here was to try and wait as long as I could so there would be more to see, I was impatient though, and had my dates wrong! All I saw was a smudge with a heartbeat but it was still amazing to me as a first timer. The sonographer was ex-NHS of 35+ years and really helpful. It was transvaginal but to be honest I prefer that because I absolutely hate having a full bladder because my bladder is weak and it causes me stress 🤣

Has anyone had a 4D scan and if so what week did you have this at?
First baby was 28 weeks and this was perfect. Current pregnancy we forgot to book it and did it at 31 weeks. This was a bit trickier as he’s a big baby anyway and we didn’t get as good pictures.

I didn’t do any with my first 4, but no4 ended in a missed miscarriage at 13 weeks (but baby had passed at around 8). So this time I decided to have an early scan at around the 8 week mark just because if something was wrong I wanted to know sooner rather than later as thinking I was having a baby for weeks not knowing they had died was worse than the fact I miscarried at all.

Scan was really positive, I was put back to 6+5 (I think), saw a wee heartbeat and they were so lovely esp after I explained that my last was a mmc. I’ve had x2 gender scans, an early scan and the scan where they found the loss at the same place and always had a good experience. They were so gentle with with me when finding the loss as well x

Thank you all. I think I’m going to book in for a couple of weeks time when I’ll be 8/9 weeks. That way hopefully it’ll put my mind at ease or at least I’ll know where we stand. The 12 week wait just feels too long and my nerves are already shredded!

Tattlers..

I’ve just found out I’m pregnant w baby number 4. Wasn’t planned but I’m not unhappy about it! One afternoon without the kids and this happens 😅

anyway, my last baby was premature (35 weeks) he PPHN and was very poorly. Is there any extra care or anything for women who’ve had prem babies? Also, I really want a vaginal birth. Has anyone had a VBA3C? I feel like I’m clutching at straws 😅

Oh god, really? At 23w mine was super sure, but I've known since before since it was ivf.
Both at the 16 week and today’s 20 week baby have been uncooperative. They said they think they know but aren’t overly sure - I’ve been told a gender but I don’t know whether to tell partner & older sibling in case it then changes? What would you do? Also that’s an open you so anyone not specially just you! 😆

I would book a private scan! We went to one and they were pretty good at taking their time to make sure they got a good view! Sent me off for a walk for 15 mins with a can of pop to get baby moving

Yes! We were told boy at a 16 week private gender scan. 20 week NHS scan she couldn’t tell for sure but she thought girl. She said it was difficult to tell, due to baby’s position. We went back for another private scan later that week as we were panicking as we’d bought lots of boy things! And they confirmed baby is definitely a boy!
We went to Ultrasound Direct for the private scans, I’m sure they’re all over the country. Our area charge £65 for a gender scan I think it was!

Sadly that’s out of our price range. So I’ll just have to wait! Whoever said money can’t buy you happiness is a liar!

Congratulations 🥳

I do not know specifically in your case about a vaginal birth but I am high risk and having a c section but speak with your consultant. Unless they say it’s absolutely necessary one way or the other they tend to go with your decision.
I know that you might have extra scans and appointments with your history. Absolutely push for this if you feel you’re not being looked after

My 20 week scan is early next week and I had a Panorama blood test that told me the sex but I get this feeling the sonographer is going to disagree 🤣 it’s occupying my mind a lot. I don’t care either way except we’ve bought a few clothes and talked about some names etc.

I've waited super long to tell people. And last time I saw people that seem to be the most obsessed with the gender, they didn't ask, and I didn't tell 🤣. Only reason they care is to shop for clothes (because unisex is boring apparently) and to critize name choices.
I'd just wait 😁 they should be happy with new family member coming regardless of gender.

I’ve just had my second section and was told that if I fell pregnant again they’d advise another section. Obviously they can’t force you either way, and you might find that the advice varies between trusts - ours very much push inductions and have a high section rate.

I’m 34 weeks on Saturday and I can’t believe there’s another 6 weeks ish of this, when it’s difficult to even exist at this point! I can’t sleep and it is effort to move around in bed, like a thousand point turn 😂 chasing after a 3 year old adds another entire element 😂

Dear god I am feeling murderous today and my work colleagues are being exceptionally irritating. I hate everyone.
in that club this week. my (micro-)manager got on my bits at the best of times pre-conception and good god it is taking all my energy not to give pass-agg replies to the bombardment of 'have you done this' / 'have you done that' messages this morning

I’m 34 weeks on Monday and honestly I feel you when you say it’s difficult to even exist. Everything is a struggle. I can’t bend down without making a grunt or some sort of noise, putting my socks on takes a lot of time and energy, I would do anything for one comfortable nights sleep. I’ve drank about 3 gaviscon bottles now because the heartburn is insane.

😥😥 can I request an induction at 37 weeks???
