If it makes you feel any better at all I’ve slept better with a baby/toddler (including when she was a newborn) than I did when I was pregnant. That was something else 😂
I’m hoping for this outcome, I’m not going to lie 🤣🤣

thanks so much everyone for the tips. I do try to stumble about in the dark to avoid waking myself up too much. Avoiding the phone/time is definitely something I need to get better at, though.
I second the magnesium ! I take the wellard one - 2 capsules every night 30 mins before bed with some water and I get at least 7.5-8 hours a night! I work a very high stress role and need sleep and touchwood I’ve been ok - I’m 18 weeks now

Have you told work yet so they can do a risk assessment?
im kind of the big boss so… nobody can really do a risk assessment on me except me. I did make two people aware because there was a stressful point in time where I was a bit worried something bad would happen due to the work stress I was under so I just needed someone to know in case I had to disappear at short notice. I think I’m over the worst of that now, but you never can tell. I took a look at the risk assessment template our HR support people give out but tbh I’m not sure what adjustments can be made for me. My job is a stressful one and I’m currently doing the work of two people (which is ‘my fault’) but there’s no lifting/carrying/risk of violence. I can choose to work from home as much or as little as I like and have my own office with a standing desk so I can move about as much or as little as I want, but I’m trying to hide my pregnancy so I’m just in work as much as usual (around the various appts I have!). I don’t really know what they would say, if there was a ‘they’. I’m being more mindful of when I do accumulate TOIL and I use it when I need to, whereas normally I don’t bother recording it because there’s no point, big boss perks and all that!

Can I ask when everyone first felt movements with anterior placenta?
Feel I’m getting anxious as I haven’t felt anything and I’m nearly 19 weeks 🥹
I have a posterior placenta and am 21 weeks but only really started to feel baby move in the last week or so (and she is wriggling around a lot now 😂)
My sister had an anterior placenta though and didnt feel any movement until about 24 weeks!

Anyone had to lie about why they are not drinking alcohol? I have a dinner and drinks night out on Friday with work. My TL will be the only one who is going knows the truth and she said she’s happy to lie with me. Do people really believe the old antibiotics excuse? 😂

I was around 21 weeks, and it’s my second pregnancy so apparently you usually feel them sooner too!

So I consider myself an expert in this field now after having to navigate several hen dos, bottomless brunches etc during early pregnancy! I find the best way to get through it is to try to go to the bar alone and ask them to give you a lemonade in a gin glass / alcohol free wine / mocktaik etc and just pretend. If it’s table service for drinks I find if you can sneak off “to the loo” and let them know at the bar they are usually dead good at telling you which alcoholic drinks to pretend to order then will bring you the non alcoholic version. Good luck haha

In hindsight I started to feel something around 18 weeks but at the time I wasn't sure. Looking back it was movement. Was feeling very clear movement and kicks by about 23 weeks but it can take longer with an anterior placenta.

Hi all, hope you're all doing well. Just after advice from anyone who has had obstetric cholestasis. I have had three previous pregnancies with the first having OC that I was induced at 37 weeks. I'm on 4th pregnancy, diagnosed at 28 weeks and I'm currently 34 weeks pregnant. I have not been able to get any urso for over a week now due to low stock (I'm seeing consultant tomorrow so hopefully I can get some from the hospital). The itching is horrendous, I'm scratched and bleeding myself to pieces every night, I was awake till 5am this morning due to the severity of the itching which is all over and not just at night but in the day as well. I can't bath in warm water as my skin is so sore (like sunburn all over) my bile acids on the 14th march were only 20 which means they won't induce me till 37 weeks. I'm not sure if they have risen as I haven't had blood results back from the 19th March. They probably have as I haven't had urso. Anyway, I have an appointment tomorrow with consultant, this is going to sound selfish but I'm hoping to push to get induced at 35/36 weeks as I just can't take anymore. I'm exhausted, in pain, have had to take annual leave for 3 weeks as I cannot work due to lack of sleep, I'm sleeping all day once kids are in school, I'm miserable, tearful all the time and snappy at my husband and kids, i have little appetite which is common with OC, i have the upper right quadrant pain constantly which is my liver causing it. I also have anaemia on top, sciatica and GERD which is just bloody awful. Am I being selfish requesting for early induction? He's a good weight baby on the 91st centile, still moving frequently so no concerns there, no underlying health concerns. I'm just at my witts end now. I'm worried they will think I'm all about me me me and my needs and not considering the health of the baby

Im so sorry. I don't understand why you are not getting your meds? I'd jusg push first how terrible you feel and then ask if it's possible to do the induction a bit before. Main reason would be baby's weight is good.

They are out of stock everywhere. My daughter has them same ones for her liver disorder and has been without hers also due to a massive stock issue

TMI but can you really not take anything for diarrhoea while you’re pregnant? I’ve got an upset stomach and HAVE to go to work tomorrow 😩

14 weeks tomorrow and I feel massive tonight! I feel super bloated but I don’t actually think I am? If you remember the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory film where Violet turns into a blueberry and they think she’ll pop, that’s how my abdomen feels tonight! I’m a plus size girl anyway (18-20) and I fear my flab is already being pushed forward by the apple sized kid growing away behind it (peach tomorrow I think! If that’s actually bigger than an apple….) and I swear I can see I’m starting to show which is making me a bit paranoid, though I probably just look like I ate all the pies to everyone else.
Obviously we can all come back at laugh at me making this post when I’m 38 weeks and feeling gigantic. I fear I will not have a sweet, small neat little bump, I’m going to become a complete whale, I can tell!

also, while I’m here, what’s good for heartburn? I’m scared to take anything and I had such a crap experience when I went to the pharmacy about my blocked up nose that I don’t fancy going back to ask (I chose a little vaguely independent pharmacy in my work city to avoid anyone seeing/hearing me. The Boots is a bit public for my liking!). I’ve had heartburn about twice in my life before this but that’s what my nausea seems to have started to develop into. Any excellent remedies that won’t result in my kid developing a third arm?
