Yes, it was a symptom that surprised me the most! I was talking on a phone walking in circles around the room and had to sit down because I was so out of breath 😂 It started almost immediately after my positive. Another weird one was stuffy and bloody nose. Apparently it's all connected to increased blood volume (your body will produce 50% more blood now) along with bleeding gums, spidery veins and haemorrhoids. 😅

The same for peeing during the night - I always thought it's happening in the 3rd trimester because the baby is putting pressure on the bladder, but for me peeing was the worst in the first month or two.

Blame excessive urination on the pregnancy hormone hCG, which increases the blood flow to your pelvic area. HCG also increases blood flow to your kidneys, which become more efficient during pregnancy.

I have to say it's all extremely fascinating to me from scientific point of view.

I have a really weak bladder anyway but I am going to be in tena lady in a matter of weeks I’m sure 🤣🤣 thanks for the reassurance. I wasn’t ‘worried’ about seeming out of puff, more puzzled at how a tiny sesame seed can have me feeling like I just did the London marathon!
My nose is a bit stuffier but also a bit snotty because everyone in the world is ill and most of the people at work have been or are off with flu and rsv and all sorts. I’m just trying to avoid them!

yes the out of breath thing is normal ! I’m not sure mine ever went away 😂 I think it gets better in the second trimester maybe?

same with the stuffy nose! I don’t think I ever got pregnancy congestion in my first pregnancy but this time it’s been here from the beginning and still have it at 34 weeks 😭

I’m the exact same, nearly 10 weeks and it’s still here. I wake up in the night sometimes out of breath 😵💫

I’m a lot more aware of being out of breath from doing nothing tonight than I was before I noticed stair climbing was tiring me. This is not ideal for keeping this a secret at work but at least I’m a bit of a Lone Ranger so can creep about without being seen too much. How unexpected!

Breathlessness knocked me for 6, was also due to low iron levels but it’s really common regardless! Nothing helped and whilst it eased in the second trimester it was back with a vengeance as bub grew.

Baby is so active at night, trying to sleep whilst he is wriggling around in there is not easy!!!

I’ve been a bit quiet, I was admitted with HG, and it’s been a wild ride since! I’m starting to think my body hates pregnancy 😂

I’m 18+1 today, I had a midwife appointment last week where I mentioned to her that I’ve been really itchy (particularly over my belly, feet, arms). She took my LFTs and my ALT is raised. Has anyone had this so early on? They’re repeating my liver function tomorrow but I’m a bit worried about cholestasis, even though my bile acids are normal. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this?

P.S. I’m 18+1, I’ve had 4 scans so far, I have a bump now… and I still take pregnancy tests sometimes 😂🤣

I’ve had intermittent itching from about 22 weeks onwards and have had LFTs taken frequently since then. Similar to you, a couple of my levels have been raised but my bile acids have been fine. The consultant said she’s not worried unless my bile acids spike.

The weird thing with my itching is that it was always on a Sunday. I realised it was being caused by what I was eating. I’d eat really healthily Monday-Friday but then carb load on treats all day Saturday. I’ve since made sure I’ve been having more balanced meals on Saturdays and the itching hasn’t been an issue anymore. I asked a midwife about this and she had a mum-to-be she had in the past also experience it on the weekends due to treating herself more often.

As long as your bile acids are fine it shouldn’t ring any alarm bells with your consultant, but have that convo with them for reassurance anyway. Obviously they’re the professional and I am not. 😂

We had our reassurance scan tonight and it definitely has helped us feel a little less nervous. Although we didn’t see much, hearing the heartbeat was just what we needed.

It still boggles my mind that something so small can have a functioning heart after being a sperm and egg only weeks previously. It's just incredible how your body just knows how to build a human

Love this! Remind me how many weeks you are? I’m sure it was you that was going to report back when I asked about early reassurance scans but I think the messages have been lost when Tattle became 8.cafe for a day or whatever fever dream happened 🤣. It is just totally amazing what the human body can do!

Is it normal to get so pissed off with your partner in the last few weeks before baby is here. 🤣

Since having a possible csection date and knowing baby could be here in 19 days or sooner (yes I’m still worrying my waters will break or I’ll go to labour anyday now 😂) my partner is pissing me off.

I feel like there’s so much to get done and set up and he keeps telling me some of it can wait til baby is here and I’m just not okay with that. 😂
I know some of it is just me in nesting mode but some genuinely feels important. 😭

Also why does it feel like all these packing hospital bags, setting things up ready etc is just down to the mum? What does the partner even have to do or get ready because it sure feels like he hasn’t a worry in the world right now.

Also mildly annoyed at my mum who will be looking after our toddler while we’re at hospital, she’s not ever looked after him for more than an hour before and keeps telling me it will be fine and not to worry about him. 🫠 Like of course I’m going to worry about my own child??? 😭

I’m 36 weeks now and I’m sure if I could get away with it, I’d murder my husband - so I’d say totally normal 😂

But on topic I have my 12 week scan this evening and am so anxious. Just praying everything with baby is ok, I am excited to see them since the last time they were just a blob on the screen at the early scan.

Same here! I was genuinely wondering what the hell I was going to do overnight 😂 would have probably been Netflix or browsing online shopping and spending money that I really shouldn't be spending haha.

I'm glad things have sorted (for now?!) 😊
