I think I started losing my mucus plug this morning but from what I read it can grow back/isn’t particularly indicative of imminent labour so we will see. 38+1 today and would rather she cooked for at least another week!

Mine went around the same time and I had him 40+5
I was so convinced he would be early!

On the topic of induction, the midwife said that due to risk factors I wouldn’t be allowed to go over 40 weeks (I think it’s due to age as I’m 40, being a bit overweight, and risk of GD) but now the consultant has said it might have to have to 38 or 39 weeks, does that mean it’ll still be a vaginal birth or does he mean caesarean? I’m current 19+5 and he said I’ll get extra scans in after 32 weeks to monitor size.

Similar happened with me. I was advised it was best to be induced or section before 40 weeks due to my risk factors. I opted for a section. But they should schedule an appointment with a consultant to discuss the options and reasons they give for them, and you still have the choice whether you want to do that or not.

If they are strongly advising an induction can you ask for a C-section instead? I kind of feel if they are so concerned about getting the baby out, I'd rather have a C-section than go through the potential issues that can come with an induction.

Just for balance, I will add that although my induction experience wasn’t great, my recovery was really straightforward. One thing to consider when thinking induction vs section

Try not to panic which I know is easier said than done. I’ve been in and out the EPU with cramps and some others on here have had bleeding too which can be implantation bleeding. Try to relax as much as possible and wait for the scan unless the bleeding or pain gets worse

I've not had any more bleeding today thankfully, some really light cramping and a few niggles but that's it.
Any blood is scary in pregnancy but bright red is just on another level x

Hey everyone, just thought id update.
I've been cramping a bit today but nothing too bad, anyways I went to the toilet and there was bright red blood everywhere, I was sobbing because I instantly thought I was having a MC again. I went to the EPU and they examined me and my cervix was closed, couldn't see any bleeding from it or my tina. So they want to find out where it's coming from so I have a scan next week when I'll be about 5.5 weeks to check I'm still pregnant and if I am, that it's in the right place.
I just want to ask has anyone had bleeding this early on? When I saw it I went into panic mode. I'm not cramping anymore, just a few twinges every now and then x

I wasn't as early but I have had a lot of fresh red bleeding at 6w6d, and again at 11w5d. It has actually continued without stopping and I am still bleeding now at 16 weeks. My bleeding varies every day from fresh red, dark red, dark brown and the cycle starts again.
The same as you - every time I was examined my cervix was closed, no bleeding coming from the cervix and it was only when the bleeding happened again and a consultant had a look it turned out the bleeding was coming from cervical ectropion (sensitive cervix). Cramping could also just be your body adapting and stretching. I had a lot at that same time too. Wishing you the best with you scan! x

Yes, you can. My birth plan was always that I would never allow them to induce me or even give me sweeps. If at any point they’re so concerned that they want to get baby out asap then I’d happily have a c section.
As it turns out I went into labour and then ended with an emergency c section anyway!

Thank you for all your advice on induction. I think I'll ask for a sweep but put off an induction for as long as I can. As much as I want him here now I don't think it's worth it. I also think being one say over is a bit too early for them to be pushing an induction on me. I hope everyone has a lovely NYE.

I’m getting really fed up of explaining things over and over to different midwives and consultants across different appointments. Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful for the NHS, but I wish they’d read my notes before questioning me about why I’m having repeat liver function tests and why I had two weeks between growth scans.

Had a good baby day today though. 33+1 growth scan and found out baby is now head down instead of breech (although both the sonographer and consultant shat on our excitement by saying she could flip back to breech again - cheers for that, we are aware, but let us be bloody happy she’s head down for now) and following along her percentile. Also got the bath mat and little bath watering can we wanted from Asda as well as some Kendamil ready-made infant milk bottles, which we’d been hunting down for months. I’m planning to EBF but I read it was a good idea to get these bottles in case my supply takes a while to come in for whatever reason. If we don’t end up using them we’ll donate them to someone who will.

I know I've not really posted on this thread and it's probably very late to start now haha. 40 weeks today and woke up feeling crampy with some slight browny coloured discharge. Roll on this evening after a few hours at soft play with my toddler (yes I know I'm mad but his dad did the majority of the running around ) and the contractions have started. Not entirely sure what the next few hours are going to bring but after a 45hr labour the first time round, I'm hoping it'll be much less than that!

Good luck! Fingers crossed it is a lot less than 45 hours. Also how you went to soft play is beyond me, I’m struggling to move off the sofa at 37 weeks

Went to get checked out earlier tonight as baby’s movements have seemed a lot weaker and less often today, got monitored and he’s absolutely fine but I didn’t really feel many movements while I was there. They’ve said to come back in tomorrow if things don’t change and if I’m still not feeling much but he’s seemed active and I’m feeling him move a lot better since I got home of course

Our hospital is 20 mins away with three roundabouts at the end near the hospital. Every time movements would kick in at the roundabouts to the point we started going to the one 5mins away to drive round it and just to see if baby moved first little Monkeys!

Urgh, I'm ill AGAIN. No joke I've been ill since mid November. This is the third bloody thing in a row. I don't know if it's just the same illness coming back for a third round or it's a third separate illness. I got two days of feeling good again and then I've been hit again. I don't have anything left. I'm absolutely drained. How am I meant to shift this once and for all. I'm taking my vitamins and doing all the good things but it appears my immune system is ducked.

39 weeks and I am over it and worrying she won’t want to come out- they’ve offered me a c section though which I think I will take

I'm 36 weeks and sometimes it feels like baby girl sticks her hand out of my uterus and into my vajayjay, it's a short sharp pain - is that what's called lightning crotch?
