I’ve today found out I’m pregnant! Around 4-5 weeks I think. I’m excited to read through this thread and get some advice! I’m excited for this journey. This is my second pregnancy after a previous loss at 8 weeks. 🤍

38 weeks on Sunday and I’m in agony - lightening crotch, pelvic pressure the lot. Also cried a few times over how useless and frustrated I feel. You aren’t alone!! Not long to go now we can do this last bit 💪🏽
It's so nice to know we're not alone in this journey isn't it. Most of my friends haven't had children so I don't want to bother them with my moaning. You're right though we can do this. ❤

I found out I was pregnant on the Sunday and we had a works do at a sushi restaurant a few days later. I ate the sushi 🍣
I’ve also had a glass of champagne over Christmas and might have one on NYE. I’m also considering still riding 🐎 until 12 weeks.

Some people will frown upon me but I’ve been in a dark place before whilst pregnant and literally stopping my existence because I’m so worried of a miscarriage and it got me nowhere I still had a miscarriage and had stopped living.

I’m sensible and healthy but if you go looking for things pregnant women shouldn’t do you’ll just find a million things telling you you’re wrong and feel guilty or panic.

Congratulations 🥳 it’s so exciting isn’t it? But also a head duck 🤣

I’ve had two miscarriages this year also one in April 💔 which was devastating so I completely empathise.

With this pregnancy I’ve taken the decision to not worry or google things. I also have relinquished all my control and realised it’s out of my hands.

I’m high risk and if I go down that rabbit hole I’ll just be so worried so if you can do not google anything!!!! I found I googled so much in my last pregnancy out of fear and it drove me mad. I can’t go through life so anxious x

Anyone else get javelin a?
Feels like someone is poking my bum with a javelin and it bloody hurts.. random too.
I'm only 15w..
Proctalgia Fugax. I find pushing like you're having a poo helps a bit.

I'm only 17.5 weeks and still have no bump but the last few days my feet and hips feel like I've been on a long hike and really ache. But I haven't really gained any weight so not sure why this is happening?

Know the feeling. My cousins gf had their baby two weeks ago and my work bestie had hers a week ago. I'm not jelous or anything 🫣

It’s the hormones causing the body to loosen and relax I suspect. Muscles, joints and ligaments are all affected. I felt like I’d been riding a horse in my thighs and groin from really early on in both pregnancies.

I’d guess it’s a lot to do with hormones. I’ve hardly got a bump but have been signed off sick for pain since 19 weeks. 24 weeks now and went in the other day to hand in a new sick line, they were all like you don’t even look pregnant. Felt like I had to defend the fact that while I don’t look that pregnant, I certainly feel it!!

Yes, that's exactly what it feels like! Perfect description! I wonder if it's related to how we carry? I presume further back if less of a bump so perhaps more strain being put on everything.

Oh blimey! Is there any treatment you can have to help?

I remember the second trimester with my first being the worst for physical pain, lots of back pain where NHS stopped physio during covid so chiropractor appointments helped me function at the time.. but I have scoliosis so I almost expected back pain.

I have a heavy feeling down below sometimes with this pregnancy too, must be some kind of muscle being pushed.. I'm not showing either but again I'm only 15w so probably won't until 20+.

I’m early on in my pregnancy but the (morning) sickness is ramping up. The one thing that is making me want to throw up is other people smelling. I don’t mean people who wash and shower and are hygienic but people who have stale smelling clothes or skip a few days showering. Normally I wouldn’t pick up on it but now it’s so vile I can smell people a mile off and it’s all the time. I was in John Lewis yesterday and nearly threw up because of a manky couple who smelt off and greasy.

My midwife told me the pelvic pain was due to the progesterone levels we have in pregnancy, and it’s pot luck on whether you get pain with it or not.
My pgp was absolutely awful (I was on progesterone for 16 weeks) but I had my baby 2 weeks ago via c section and the pelvic pain disappeared straight away!

I had this too at almost exactly the same time as you - we were away on a little baby moon holiday and I could hardly walk or move. Had to go to a Turkish pharmacy and try and get some pregnancy safe pain relief 😂 i was freaked out that I’d have it for the whole of my pregnancy but it went away quite soon after that. I then didn’t have too much pain til around 32 weeks. My recommendation would be to (once you feel better) do as many strengthening exercises, Pilates etc as you can. I wish I’d listened to everyone saying to do those as it helps so much as you get bigger and heavier. If I have another baby I’m going to focus so much more on that! Now our baby is 9 weeks old and similarly you need so much strength and energy to hold/carry them (+ no sleep) so again, I wish I’d done more to prepare.

Hey everyone, are you actively avoiding sick people? My friend and her boyfriend just said they have coughs and snotty colds but still on to see us tonight, I really don't want to get sick and thinking to cancel but I have health anxiety so not sure if I'm overreacting. I'm nearly 20 weeks and had COVID and flu vaccs.

I’d avoid personally !

I’d rather not have a cold on top of all my current pregnancy complaints 🤣

my in laws came to visit with us a couple of months ago with heavy colds that they quickly explained away as “just clearing up” despite sniffling everywhere.
Of course I ended up with it and worse on top of already feeling tired and worn out which was highly annoying.
I probably would have still seen them regardless but at least your friends gave you the heads up to make the decision.

baby will be fine if you DO end up with a cold 🩷 but if it will make you uncomfortable or worried there’s no problem in postponing!

As someone who is currently 36 weeks pregnant with a cold and a toddler (help me 😂) I would do anything to avoid getting sick! Rearrange for when they are better, it’s just not worth feeling crap for!

I am. It's taken me weeks to get over this horrible bug and I haven't been able to take anything to help so if I can avoid going through that again I will.
