Baby Jomble has arrived and is a beautiful little girl.
The birth was quite traumatic and I'm not ready to process it yet, but it's just so amazing that she's finally here. She's doing really well and I can't stop staring at her 😍

I hope you’re offered counselling, even if you decide not to take it I hope they give you support.
So many of my friends have had trauma around their birth experiences 😥

Congratulations lovely! Best Christmas gift. 🥰 I’m sorry your birth was traumatic - let yourself feel all the feelings about it and make sure you get a debrief. ❤

Is anyone else 30 weeks and just feel like they have nothing ready at all 🥲

We have things from first baby that can be reused (need pulling out and checking over though 🥲) and I did order some of the things we’d need new over Black Friday but everything is so unorganised and a mess 😭

im 35 weeks, moved house about a month ago and i have naff all ready… forgot what goes in my hospital bag so havent done that. Ordered the mattresses today for my next2me; cot and moses basket and reusing alot of my first baby’s stuff. Bought a tit ton of nappies though 🤣 Need to get my pram cleaned; car seat cleaned and start washing the clothes after Christmas aswell as sorting my little girls bedroom so i can then sort the baby’s room 😫. Im super stressed out because a health visitor is coming out to my house 5 days before my due date which didn’t happen last time so my anxious mind has gone into over drive but midwife told me not to worry as its standard practice now 🤷🏻‍♀️
Anyhow we are doing great!! We are growing a new precious little human… we’re gonna be fine 🤞🏽

37 weeks and I’m only just sort of organised for the first 3 months I think 🤣 she has no room of her own as yet

my health visitor came out a couple of weeks ago, sat in the living room and chatted about what they would offer, answered some questions we had on feeding and the first few weeks and gave us some leaflets on safe sleep etc - really wasn’t anything much and she was only in about 20 minutes 🥰

I had my first visit health visitor appointment come through today and will be rebooking as they want to come on our first sons birthday with no listed time just a time between this and that, so no thank you will be rebooking. We never had the first visit appointment with our first as baby came before the appointment did. I’m not really sure the point of a first visit when you’ve already had a baby and for the most part know what you’re doing and what to expect though? 😂 but will go along with it.

I had a bit of a meltdown earlier over where all of this baby’s clothes are going to live. OH said they can just go in our wardrobe but I said I’m not having any of that and after taking some measurements have ordered something that will fit in our room. So I feel a tiny bit better and hope things are going to fall into place and be okay? 🤞

Has anyone else really struggled with clothes over the festive season? I’m 21 weeks and in my last pregnancy I had a really neat, obvious, round bump from about 12 weeks, but this time I just look chubby so I’m finding it really hard to dress nicely! We’re going away for a night tonight and I need a nice casual outfit and a nice dressy outfit and I look like Winnie the Pooh in everything!

Tbh I find dressing up for an evening easier.

Bodycon is the way forward. It always looks better to emphasise the bump and have a snug fit on the abdomen rather than anything that skims over as a regular fit.

My standard ‘evening’ or ‘going out’ outfit has been a pair of maternity tights and a H&M Mama tight fitting jersey dress. Dress it up or down depending if it’s an evening date or a pub lunch. H&M Mama do nice pencil skirts too that you can basically pull up to your nipples. Elasticated waist slip skirts (the silky ones) work well too, if you just size up:

I’m going to a house party tomorrow and want to be comfier- so wearing black silky joggers and an oversized shirt, unbuttoned at the navel (both sized up, not maternity)

It’s the daytime that I find hard, particularly in winter. When the weather was warmer in my first pregnancy I wore crop tops (bump out) and low slung linen and jersey trousers. Or just bodycon dresses and sandals.

Cold weather ‘practical’ dressing when the weathers calls for ill-cut maternity jeans, fleeces and leggings is what is tricky. All of the all over bulk makes me look like a battleship.

I’ve got to the point now I’m wearing my partners hoodies and jumpers if I’m going to the supermarket or appointments etc, I just try not to look in the full length mirror too much as I really do look the size of a small garden shed now 😂

I gave up on pants somewhere in October around the 6 months mark, I just can't be bothered to order and return any more of maternity jeans so I've been exclusively wearing knit bodycon dresses. I actually don't really like anything I've worn in the past year because during the summer I didn't really have a bump yet so I just bought a few looser dresses (size up) so I could also wear them next year while I'm getting back to my original weight. I miss clothes, I miss pants, I miss outfits. :D

Not long to go tho, I turned 35 weeks today and honestly have no idea how this happened. It actually feels insane that I could have my baby anytime between now and Valentines. I feel so unprepared even though I know I've done a lot, it just never feels enough.

I had a 6 week early scan today mainly to settle my anxious brain as I had completely convinced myself that something had gone wrong as I had been in and out of the EPU for blood tests 4 times in 8 days…
I saw the yolk sac, the gestational sac, embryo and a tiny little flickering heartbeat

Still convinced something will go wrong so I am trying to relax and keeping it very much a secret

Great news that you saw a heartbeat! Easier said than done but try to relax. Your body will focus on growing the baby and you have to trust that it will continue. I have been trying to focus on milestones so for example midwife appointment at 8w, 12w scan, 16w gender scan etc. You'll get there x ❤

I have my first scan at the hospital next Friday 🙏 I’ll be six weeks and I think one day.
I cannot wait to get it done just so I know either way.
I’ve never had a scan with a heartbeat.

39 weeks yesterday. I've spent the evening crying. Had a lot of pelvic pain last week and tried too go for a gentle walk today but it's done me in and I'm just feeling very done. Would very much like him here now. I know walking is good this far in pregnancy but it hurts to just do so. Just feeling like a hit of a failure tonight even though I know deep down I'm not. Sorry for the little rant

38 weeks on Sunday and I’m in agony - lightening crotch, pelvic pressure the lot. Also cried a few times over how useless and frustrated I feel. You aren’t alone!! Not long to go now we can do this last bit 💪🏽

Congratulations! Don’t worry about what you’ve been eating and drinking, the placenta doesn’t take over until later on so baby is getting nutrients from the yolk sack for now. I got my positive test this time after a holiday where I’d been drinking pints all day and wine all night 😅

As for food etc during pregnancy, I don’t avoid anything. I still eat rare/med rare steak, raw or smoked fish, runny eggs you name it. Except pate but that’s purely because I hate it 🤣
Could agree more!

I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 9 weeks pregnant and I had been drinking throughout the weeks leading up to finding out.

I also haven't changed my food at all ! I already eat a lot of fruit and veg just because I like it and I haven't stopped eating anything in particular. I am now 24 weeks and everything is absolutely fine ❤
