Baby girl made her arrival into the world at 9:55pm, weighing 7lb 2oz so they were bob on with her measurements 🙈

Went from 2cm to 7cm in four hours, then 7cm to 10cm in another four hours. No pain relief other than gas and air - surprised myself with that one I thought I’d be screaming the hospital down but it honestly was not as bad as everyone had been telling me up until they had to give a little cut to help me push her big head out 🙈

Congratulations. What an amazing mumma!!

For those suffering with carpal tunnel - you can be referred to your hospital’s physio department and they’ll give you a wrist support which is supposed to help. I have all the numbers for the different departments in the front of my birth folder - I’d mentioned it to my midwife who pointed this out to me. She said if I had any other issues to just raise them too as you can self refer in when pregnant and you’ll be seen! Fortunately my CT that was awful in the first trimester and part of the second has cleared up. Instead I get multiple nightly calf cramps and have to jump out of bed and stand up/walk round. I miss the CT 😂

Wow amazing! Well done!! Manifesting this for myself 😂😂

Hope you and baby girl are both well 🥰

I. Am. Exhausted 😩 took my car in for its MOT yesterday, had to walk 3.5 miles home which took me 1h45. Then this morning took it to another garage for new tires cause it failed, they couldn’t find the wheel nuts so had to leave it there for them to sort and walk another mile to the supermarket cafe, then walk another mile back to get it again. Doesn’t seem like much but I’m aching all over now

I had no idea about this. I raised it with my.midwive who told me to ice my hands and elevate them at night and that was it. I ended up buying wrist supports myself, but I've found the cold weather recently has made them a lot worse. I raised it again at my 39 week appointment this week and she basically just said there was nothing to do and it'll go when the baby is born. So helpful 🙄

I wasn’t told in my first pregnancy. My midwife this time round has been fantastic and I’ve seen the same one each time (first pregnancy it was someone different on each occasion). I think given where you are she’s probably right, and it’s extremely likely to disappear overnight. Just annoying you weren’t signposted before.

Hi guys,

Just come to tattle to seek some support whilst staying anonymous (not many know yet, only those who see me daily and would know from the sickness!)

I’m 9 weeks with my second and I am suffering SO bad. I don’t remember it being this bad the first time round, but that was 8 years ago so I think my memory has faded.

As I throw up in the night with a raging cold, I’ve got my head in the toilet thinking (what have I done?!) but I could never say that out loud cause we planned for this and baby is very much wanted by all. I have support at home but I’m struggling big time with feeling so unwell, I’m sure it won’t be so bad once I’m not ill with cold/flu anymore but although I’m so tired. I also can’t sleep?!

Not looking for solutions, I know I have to ride it out! But any tips at all that have helped people recently, any new inventions, would be much appreciated 🙌🏼

I work full time and still having school runs etc so resting up is not an option 🥴

Hello and welcome to the thread. I'm really sorry you are having such a terrible time. I'm sure you will feel better once your cold goes too. I had one around week 9 and every time I coughed I got more sick.

I've suffered with sickness my whole pregnancy but my midwives kept brushing it off as normal. Can you see a GP before your first midwife appointment? I wish I had pushed more cause getting anti sickness meds has saved me. I didn't get any until week 32 and this week there was a delay getting more (I'm 40 weeks on Sunday) and I was back to being sick all the time. It's awful.

This thread is full of such lovely people so I'm sure others will have good advice but I hope you're holding up ok as you can be. X

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, everytime I cough I get sicker too, it’s a vicious circle. I’ve already had my first midwife app but she just brushed it off as normal too. I saw the GP today to check it wasn’t tonsillitis (I used to suffer bad in my 20s) but she never offered. I’ll consider going back.

I just wish I could get some sleep! My youngest is so unsettled worrying about me! But I can tell them yet as they’ll tell everybody and it’ll be a longggg process for them 🙈 feels so much harder now I’m older! Xx

Anyone know what cough medicine is safe to take during pregnancy? I've got a nasty cough and it's keeping me awake. I'm going to go to the pharmacy and ask but if it was anything like last time it was the cycle of no one wanting to take liability and saying to ask the GP who said ask the pharmacist 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’ve suffered with HG in both pregnancies and it really is the worst. I considered a termination with both and they were extremely wanted and planned pregnancies, but it got to the point where I genuinely thought I was going to die.

Please go to the doctors and ask for anti-emetics - there’s lots you can try so don’t be afraid to keep going back until you get the combination that works for you. The ‘pregnancy sickness support’ page on Instagram is brilliant, and they can give advice on what to ask for at the GP if you’re met with resistance.

sending love x
