Everyone I know who’s been told they’re having a big baby has ended up with a very regular sized baby!
My first son was 8lbs 11oz which is obviously on the bigger side but not as big as they expected. The lady I shared a room with in hospital had an almost 12lb baby though - looked like a full toddler!

I’m absolutely at my wits end with being unable to sleep 😭😭😭 I am at hospital today for scan and consultant, does anyone know if I mention it will they be able to do anything?
I've found this whole pregnancy, the midwives tell me.theres nothing they can do for 99% of my symptoms but I always think it's good for them to note things down. I used to just say 'yeah i'm fine' but in my 39 week apt yesterday, I made a point of saying my hands were in agony with carpal tunnel.

Sure I was just told it would go once the baby is here, but I want it down so I can follow up if it doesn't go straight away. I'm not sure how I can pick a baby up in the night when I can't even move half my fingers in the morning.

Carpal tunnel is one of my issues too 😩

You have my sympathy, the lack of sleep for no real reason is absolutely horrific 😭 I asked my midwife this last week and she said not really, but that’s often their response tbh! How many weeks are you?
I’m 34+4 today and just fed up. I’m soooo tired. I can fall asleep in the day, but at night I’m seeing every hour it’s awful.

Magnesium Glycinate has been a lifesaver for me and it's safe to take during pregnancy which I checked with the midwife. Since I've been talking it I've slept really well. Went from waking up every couple of hours and being awake for ages each time to sleeping all the way through except for going for a wee. GP was awful and no help and basically said I should go on antidepressants?!?

Ah we must have the same due date!

Yeah it’s grim. I’ve tried EVERYTHING - magnesium glycinate, warm baths, cutting out caffeine, eating early, having a snack before bed, no screens, going to bed early, the list goes on. If (when) I wake up I’m up for a minimum of 2.5 hours which is super fun with an early rising toddler and a full time job 😄 I’d 100% rather be awake cluster feeding a newborn

I had insomnia in the beginning of pregnancy and asked my doctor who told me I can keep using Melatonin spray - it helped me fall asleep most days but I didn't over do it, I only used it occasionally (maybe once or twice a week max). Maybe you can ask about it and try with it, it's natural as your body produces it anyway.

Which one do you take? And what dose please? I’d love to try it, my sleep has been awful 😭

Looking at the last few posts I feel like I could have written them myself. I'm so fed up. One more day till maternity but no sleep, throwing up and being unable to comfy at any point of the day ia driving me crazy. I spent last night crying to my partner about anything and everything.

Scan went ok, baby is measuring at around 7lbs 1oz (which everyone keeps telling me is huge lmao they’re trying to tip me over the edge!!)

they kept saying babies head was measuring too small while they were calculating and then started saying amniotic fluid was too low which sent me into a panic but then they said that her head was probably just too low in pelvis to get a reading and then she was able to measure amniotic fluid again and it was 4cm not the 1.8cm she was originally getting 😂🙃 wish they’d keep quiet until they know for certain I was about to burst into tears haha

Been referred for a growth scan tomorrow because baby has gone up a centile 🙃 she said it may just be because the student midwife has measured so it’s two different people but at least it’s a growth and not a decline I suppose? The last fundal height measurement was two weeks ago and was 34cm and today it was 37cm so it doesn’t seem too big of a jump?

she was measuring just below the centile line two weeks ago so I would have thought it was normal that she’d gone up a centile but what do I know 😂 at least it’s another chance to see baby I suppose?

has anyone else had a scan because baby is growing too much?
I was measuring big. Had a growth scan and everything was fine but baby was measuring 90th centile at over 8lbs
He was 5 days overdue at 6lb 9 and doesn’t fit in anything haha

Exactly this, seen it so many times! I was told to expect a very small baby, they were funny about home birthing etc. he came out 8lb 6, my biggest so far 🤣

Our Snuzpod arrived earlier. Only 82 days left until due date. 🥰

Also my MIL has decided to get the people that we bought our travel system without her. She said she’d pay for it back in August and we ordered it in October when there was a big sale on. She’s now saying she won’t pay for it because we robbed her of letting her choose one for us. 😂 I feel like I’m living a real life Reddit thread with her.

cant stand overbearing MIL’s who think they have to be a part of everything! Generous she was offering to pay but doesnt give her the right to have a say in the travel system you choose, makes me so mad… my mum and dad bought my travel system for me when i was having my first and my mum was so chill she was like whatever you want get and il send you the money 😢 makes me a little upset i didnt take her with me so she could see the joy i had picking what i wanted… husband didnt get a look in 🤣

im nervous about having this baby because my boundaries werent observed last time by in laws and im scared theyre not going to be observed again. My boundaries and tolerance is being tested atm because my MIL touches my bump every time she sees me despite her knowing how uncomfortable it made me with my first she insists on doing it again this time and i just wish she would take the hint and stop being a space invader. Sorry just went off on a tangent about in laws there…

To chime in on the MIL chat. I have a horrible relationship with mine after she acted like a spoiled cat and tried to spoil our wedding. So much so that I haven’t spoken to her in 2 years. She doesn’t even bother to contact now. We haven’t told her I’m pregnant and I’m 26 weeks today 🤣. She only contacts Mr Pixie if she wants something.

After she heard about our loss last year she randomly texts hubby every few months now asking am I pregnant (only messages she sends btw). I don’t think she has the right to know and hubby agrees but I’m dreading the headache if she finds out after baby is born as she will just make a drama and all about her too.

Do you think he should tell her before baby is born to avoid her bursting our newborn bubble or shall we keep putting off until baby turns 18 😂?

My mother is the nightmare, not the MIL. I’m more scared about navigating her than the baby!

My thoughts exactly! I also think toxic family members don’t have an automatic right to know your baby. If they can’t behave properly around you why do they get to share the good stuff!!

Brand doesn't really matter, I've tried different ones with the same results. I take a 280mg dose but think they can come up to 400mg but 280mg works well for me. It's actually super beneficial for pregnancy in other ways. It reduces nerve issues, restless legs. It's shown to help with neural development of the baby and build strong bones and teeth. It helps morning sickness and mood swings. There's so much research out there about the benefits. Feel free to have a read for reassurance and helping you to make a decision about it.

Contractions have started, cervical check showed 2cm dilated…baby could be coming soon 😳😳

I did not realise contractions would be so painful 😫
