Someone has accidentally ruined my gender reveal :( I’m absolutely gutted! Have to try and pretend to be surprised now because my husband doesn’t know. 😫😭
Oh no! When were you planning the reveal? I hope you don't have to keep it secret for too long now

For me choosing between a section and induction, I also factored in my husbands paternity leave. With us only getting two weeks, I didn’t want to waste multiple days of that in hospital while waiting to see if various methods of induction worked or not, but I also didn’t want to go through it alone. There’s obviously other things too as other posters have mentioned, but my friend’s husband was already five days into his paternity leave by the time they got home with their baby after every method of induction failed and they then had an emergency section and had to stay in another night.
That’s a great point! Hadn’t considered that angle before!

Does anyone have any good cream/ lotion recommendations for stretch marks please? Just in the early days where they’re fresh and slightly painful and red. Thank you 💙

Me and my partner have been discussing me coming off the pill and trying for our first baby together. I’m 29 and have been on the pill (rigevidon) for probably over 10 years now. I did get pregnant when I was 16 (mistake with first boyfriend) and we decided to terminate the pregnancy as I was still at school and we both weren’t ready. Is there anything set in stone how to quickly I can get pregnant coming off the pill? Will my body take a long time to go back to normal after being on the pill for so long? My period is very regular I always take it on my week break from the pill.
Hi hi!

I have a similar story to you. Got pregnant at 19, didn't keep the pregnancy (definitely a good decision - the guy was an absolutely abusive prick) and was on the pill for a very long time. I stayed on the pill until the end of May 2022 as I was running a marathon as a bucket list goal before we started a family. I was pregnant by the start of July 2022 (less than 5 weeks). It can happen very quickly. I honestly don't think I've had a normal cycle since I was a teenager but it's starting to come back now as I've not gone back on the pill.

I have no idea if that's something that can happen every time, if some women are just more prone to that happening, or we just got 'lucky' (I say lucky in inverted commas as I don't know if I was truly ready and we expected it to take a few months so it felt very much like a surprise, if I'd known it would happen that way I would have waited a little longer...). No idea if it'll happen again when we start trying for baby 2. I'm assuming it will so we're going to try and really take our time and get everything lined up first.

I would be gutted if that happened to me 🤣 jesus you need a few weeks to prepare 🤣
I also work in the NHS but got lucky with how my annual leave fell, so I went off at 35 weeks. Had him at 37 weeks after being in hospital for 4 days before he arrived 🙃

Did anyone else feel a huge change when they hit 34 weeks?

I’m just over 34weeks and the pressure in my pelvis has intensified, I’m 100% sure baby’s head is now engaged, the pressure in my back, thighs…and the braxton hicks are now happening in the day rather than just in bed.
It’s quite annoying as I only have 5 shifts left at work, but right now I can barely see me getting through the next night shift 🤯

I felt absolutely fine until I got this point 😂

i know it’ll likely vary for every area but how long roughly is it to get the results back from the Down syndrome / edwards / Pataus screening? I can see my NT measurement in badger, and while it’s under the “normal” level it’s at the high end. I actually saw a post elsewhere by someone panicking about a measurement which was smaller than mine which has sent me into a bit of a spiral.. my logical brain knows it’ll likely be fine. Thought the anxiety would ease after the 12 week scan but it just changes clearly 😂

And you can drive as soon as you feel able - there is no rules about waiting ‘6 weeks’ (I’m determined to bust this myth!)
If you’re on lots of pain killers or don’t have full range of motion it can still it can be considered as impairing your driving (morphine and diamorphine comes under drug driving laws at a certain level too) so it’s worth bearing that in mind.

The 6 weeks thing apparently comes from the idea you’ll have had a 6wk GP check so able to prove you were fit if needed.
I had an accident at 7 weeks, fortunately not my fault so they weren’t really interested but we discussed it.

Yeah that's my thinking as well, I wanted a boy but after seeing the clothes I just think nah, boring and utterly dull !. Can't bare character clothing, so ugly. Yet if a girl wants to wear a Barbie jumper I'm all for it. I am not even a girly girl myself but in all my favourited items basket it's all pink flowery girly girl stuff.
👩‍⚖️justice for boy mums 🤣

This is a very strange one but I am currently 16+5 and I have a niggly pain in my left hip like a trapped nerve. Probably jot even pregnancy related but the pain is going down my leg a little and the left side of my vagina / groin 🤣🤦 when I say pain, it's more of an ache. I'm not worried I'm just curious if anybody has ever experienced this or if I am just being absolutely mental 🤣🤣
I’m 16+6 and getting this as well! Just wait for the lightning crotch aka Fanny daggers 💀

I had asked my work for an enhanced maternity package. For clarity, I am a senior member of staff, worked here for 6 years. The pay and hours are good but we have zero other benefits. Just took a promotion for no pay rise, although I will have a better bonus (which I haven't actually been told about yet). Anyway, they said no. I'm incredibly frustrated.
I relate. I'm in a similar position. I have friends who work in the same profession elsewhere and they get full pay for 3-6 months.

We’ve been kindly given a Snuzpod4 and a Chicco next to me second hand from family but unsure which on to use? They both got their pros and cons from what I’ve read so struggling to choose which one, any idea of which one is best?

Congratulations to all of you newly expecting mums 🥰

I rang my GP when I had got to 4-5 weeks and the receptionist said 'is it a happy pregnancy' and then gave me the number for the local midwives hub who took my details and arranged my booking appointment.

I also said the same thing to my husband as someone has mentioned about not actually testing my urine and they just took my word that was I pregnant 😂

Am now almost 30 weeks with my first - due early January!
Genuinely, didn't have any 'official' diagnosis of my pregnancy (apart from the private scan we paid for) until my results from my 12 week appt blood tests came back, which was actually a 13.5 week appt because I couldn't fit it in earlier. I had little to no symptoms either until about 16 weeks except going off hot drinks - if we hadn't wanted the pregnancy/been trying and I'd been younger, not in a position to have a kid etc., firstly I don't think I'd have tested but secondly I don't know if I would have fully believed it!

Absolutely no chance. I wouldn’t go not pregnant if I had to stay sober. Not because I can’t have fun sober but everyone gets absolutely steaming. Unless your lot aren’t likely to. It’s one thing to be sober in a room full of people having a social drink and getting merry over an evening, it’s another to watch people do shots and get blotto where you can’t even chat and you’re just dodging getting bumped into all night.
I’ve never heard of this place but it sounds wild!

Anyone at 37/38 week mark absolutely starving 24/7? My appetite has been pretty much normal throughout but since last week I’m absolutely starving constantly! I keep going shakey and clammy and just craving sugar constantly! Anyone else had this? I’m hoping it’s a sign labour is near as I’m so tired of being pregnant now 😭

Anybody else absolutely starving in the third trimester? I’m on my third meal and fourth bag of crisps 😂
ME 😂 I vary wildly between nauseous and at the point of throwing up (because I’ve eaten so much) and needing to eat NOW. I’ve started only making things like pasta, curries etc that I can have second and third helpings from easily 😂😂😂😂😂

Had my 3d/4d scan today and baby girl did not want to cooperate. :( She’s positioned head down and was facing my spine so we couldn’t see her face at all, she only pouted at us a little. 😂

Did they offer a rescan at all?
Cute little nose and that pout !!

They’re so expensive! I want one with this baby as we had one with our first but hubby doesn’t really want to 🥲
