Hello ladies.

I was looking to book antenatal classes for me and my husband and was wondering if any of you have any strong opinions on NCT or Bump and Baby Club?

A pregnant friend is doing them both (?!) but I will definitely only get hubby to go to one lot, not to mention the expense. Does anyone have any experience with either? Xx

I posted last week after we attended our first bump and baby club and honestly we loved it!! The instructor was a midwife of 15 years and she was just amazing, there was about 10 other couples there as well so a great place to meet others who are due around the same time 🥰

We did NCT and thought it was great. Had a really funny and down to earth leader who just gave us all the info. And have lucked out with a really nice group of 7 other couples that we’ve already had some pre-baby socials with!

I have had my appt through to speak to the obstetrician about this - is he gonna try and put me off??
I came to my appointment armed with all of my arguements as to why I wanted it - weren’t needed though because he agreed straight away! Hopefully you have yhe same experience, but if not remember you can ask to see someone else.

We had our first NCT group last night. I only really booked it because I wanted to meet other people whose babies will be growing up at the same time as mine, but I really enjoyed it! It was just the right mix of information and casual chat. I have heard that Bump & Baby Club is better for diversity, but they don't run one in our area so I can't confirm whether that's true.

When you book you choose which one is suitable depending on your due date! They do fill up fairly quickly though

We’ve been kindly given a Snuzpod4 and a Chicco next to me second hand from family but unsure which on to use? They both got their pros and cons from what I’ve read so struggling to choose which one, any idea of which one is best?

Does anyone have any tips for insomnia? I am waking up between 3.30 and 4 most days, cannot get back to sleep - almost start drifting again at 6ish and then my alarm goes off at 6.20 for work.
I don’t know if there is anything I can do about this? I’m coming up to 28 weeks. If this is my life now, also thinking about whether I could ask for some adjustments at work… but not sure what would help!

Afraid I have no tips.. I’m in the same boat at 38 weeks!

I'm the same with insomnia. I've had it for weeks and can only sleep a few hours a night even if I'm shattered. I'm 34 weeks now and really don't know how I'm going to survive, along with all the other late pregnancy symptoms, until the baby comes.

Things I think help a little are:

Sleeping in another bed as then I can toss and turn without worrying if I'm annoying my husband.
Putting something on my iPad and dozing off to that.
Having a snack - I find I get sleepy after I eat in the middle of the night.

Same - I’ve moved to the spare room so when I wake up I’m not lying there trying to be silent which makes it worse. Podcast/book helps and love the idea of a snack, I’m also waking up ravenous so having breakfast around 6am. It’s hard but I’m on Mat leave now so can’t complain too much. Sending you guys love and strength! 💕

I have always suffered with insomnia and since we've moved time zones its been ten times worse (which is why I'm sitting binging UK tv on a VPN at 1.30am :ROFLMAO: ). The only thing that has ever worked for me is actually getting up and doing something. Also I know its cliché, but bananas. Try having a banana and see if it helps you fall back to sleep.

I have a lot of troubles falling asleep, I'm almost asleep and then I think YOUR LIFE IS GOING TO CHANGE FOREVER or YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE IN FOR and my heart starts racing like crazy and I can't fall asleep after that. 🙃 And if I get into thinking about labour / recovery then I'm good till morning, no sleep at all. :D

Weighed myself this morning and I have 66.6 kg. 🙈 Not sure if baby's sending me some secret messages. 😂 I'm at +5kg so far at 24 weeks, hope it doesn't go crazy in the last trimester.

I can't sleep either 😭 I was up at 4.30am on the sofa last night and managed to fall back asleep around 6 for an hour. I don't feel as uncomfortable in bed as I did feel around 25 weeks (I'm 32 now) but I just can't sleep.

The sleep is tit isn’t it. Practice for having a newborn 😂

I’m now 19 weeks but since the start of this pregnancy I will wake up mostly once in the night (or wake up around 5 and then don’t get back to sleep 🙃) but last night I think I saw every hour, have a bit of a cold and cough atm so just kept waking up to cough 🫠😭

My partner is off work sick too so at least I only have to do half the parenting of our toddler 😂

Someone has accidentally ruined my gender reveal :( I’m absolutely gutted! Have to try and pretend to be surprised now because my husband doesn’t know. 😫😭

Personally I’d say go with which ever fits best. The next2me is good but it’s just plonked next to the bed, side down and that’s it. For this baby I’ve used it to rock a handful of times and raised one end briefly until I read you shouldn’t but otherwise I’ve never used the functions.
You could use one for daytime naps and one in the bedroom so if one is moveable, that’d be better for daytime perhaps.

I'm so sorry this has happened. I know it was an accident but you are allowed to be gutted.

Oh no! When were you planning the reveal? I hope you don't have to keep it secret for too long now
