Hello ladies. Does anyone know what prams/travel systems they are going for yet?

We went to the baby show this weekend and despite our efforts not to, we have fallen completely in love with the Bugaboo Fox 5. I found it looked the nicest but it was also the easiest to put up and down.

We are planning on travelling to NYC when baby is 4 months old (crazy I know!) and have been advised by multiple couples we know that the YoYo would be best for this.

My question is- do any of these ever go on Black Friday sales? And are there any other prams we should be considering.

Would you go to bongos bingo 32 weeks pregnant???

My friends keep nagging me to go for a birthday. They’re still quite young and haven’t had kids or been pregnant so don’t really think. They keep telling me I’ll be fine but all I can think of is the awful benches I can’t get in and out of, if it’s dangerous when people get on the tables, and the judging I would get. It’s not even the drinking I can’t do that bothers me, it’s safety.. They don’t see it that way though!
I personally wouldn't go either. Purely because there'll be loads of drunk people on benches dancing and it's a bit wild there. A drunk person could easily fall into you.
Don't feel bad about not going and what they think! It's all down to how you feel. Maybe explain to them if you were just going to a normal bar sitting at a table you'd be fine but bongos is just a bit rowdy!

I've had to start injecting blood thinners into my stomach and it's the worse. I cant help but cry and shake after and I just want baby to be okay. But we've been told he's really big and has a lot of fluid around him so waiting for blood test and glucose test results. I knew this could happen. My mum had GD with all three of us and with me pre eclampsia so ive been high risk from the star but when you hear the words it's still hard to process.
I’m sorry to read this. Is it the Fragmin injection? If so they’re the ones you’re given after a c-section. Is it the just mental side or are you also struggling with the injection itself?

Genuinely, didn't have any 'official' diagnosis of my pregnancy (apart from the private scan we paid for) until my results from my 12 week appt blood tests came back, which was actually a 13.5 week appt because I couldn't fit it in earlier. I had little to no symptoms either until about 16 weeks except going off hot drinks - if we hadn't wanted the pregnancy/been trying and I'd been younger, not in a position to have a kid etc., firstly I don't think I'd have tested but secondly I don't know if I would have fully believed it!
It's strange isn't it!

The only thing I had was after I'd had my positive test was that I could smell, I lost a lot of it after COVID so it was weird to have it back for a short period of time!

I've only seen mine once at my booking appointment. She forgot to call me for my 16 week checks (which are over the phone and not in person). I text to ask if it was still planned for that day at 11am which was an hour after I expected to hear from her and she rang me back at 6pm the next day.

I also messaged when I had COVID to ask if there was anything specific I should do (have since learned that I should have had a blood test but no one ever told me that until 20 weeks) and she read the text and never replied or called me!

She forgot to book in my GTT test, called me a day before I was due in for a 24 week check to say she was on holiday so I'd have to see someone else on the following weeks clinic.

Have also heard from a few other mums to be in my area that she's just as bad with them so I'm not taking it personally! If I was a more anxious or worried person, I'd probably be asking for a different midwife but I'll just stick with her 🙈
Wow that’s bad! It sounds like mine too, loads of stuff they forgot to book in or didn’t come back to me about. If I have any concerns or questions I literally just ring triage at the local hospital and they check me out there now. It’s further to travel but I do feel like they’re most consistent and thorough there

I'm 7 weeks and then same! Have you tried upping protein? I haven't cause I'm too nauseous and don't fancy it but it massively helped my hunger in general pre pregnancy.
That said, I'm just letting myself eat 🤷‍♀️ I haven't gained weight yet but I'm plus size anyway so don't know if that comes into it.
Yes, tried upping protein. Tried eating little and often, all the things people advise. It makes no difference! I'm reassured by people saying it calms down though.

Just got home from my (failed 😂) glucose tolerance test. The drink was actually not as bad as I was expecting, but I was still sick about half an hour before the time was up. I've now been given a 5-day home blood testing kit. I'm such a nerd that I'm actually quite excited to see my readings.
I’ve had one done and was also sick before the time was up so rebooked. I was wondering what happened if the same happened again! Absolutely dreading going back, the drink wasn’t even bad but just made me so poorly after an hour in

Looking for some reassurance from those who have had more than one pregnancy! I’m 7 weeks along with baby 2. First pregnancy was a relative breeze. I do remember some fatigue in my first trimester but no sickness whatsoever. This time I’m absolutely exhausted (I do have a 2 year old so I know it makes sense to be more tired) and I’m feeling sick all day long. Not actually vomiting- it’s not that bad. More like bad hangover all day.

Is it normal for 2 pregnancies to be so different? I’m spiralling thinking it means there’s more than one in there. I could cry even thinking about that possibility. Booked an early scan this Friday to try and ease my mind
Yes they can be very different !
Pregnant with a boy last time and again this time so gender didn’t even matter for me 😂

With my first I was actually sick multiple times for weeks, had so much heartburn, needed to nap a lot.. and now I’m almost 24 weeks with my second and I’ve only actually physically been sick once or twice. I think in weeks 7-9 I did feel like I had constant nausea that if I ate safe foods little and often it seemed to curb it but that stage passed quickly for me.

I have a 21 month old too so I’m not sure if I’m actually more tired this time hard to tell if it’s just tiredness from chasing him 😂

Wondering some days why anyone actually wants to get pregnant while already having a toddler tbh 🤣

Did anyone do/is anyone planning to do colostrum harvesting? That + perineum massage being two things I should do from now on is giving me a bit of ick 😩
I went to a baby event and nearly died 🤢 by the end of the evening I'd been convinced that eating my own placenta in a smoothie was a good idea 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Anyway, I did that and had dried pills made and the midwives couldn't believe how much colostrum I was producing! Boobs absolutely didn't leak squat prior to giving birth.

Picked up our travel system and why is everything so bloody technical 🤣 so many buttons and the car seat is so confusing it almost ended in a divorce putting it all together and working out what’s what hahahah
We haven't even attempted the car seat yet but we had a similar experience putting the buggy together. So stressful

I hate how unpredictable everything is and how everything can be mistaken for something else!
Omg this! I had a bit of a stomach bug last week and the whole time I was like "Am I sure that's what this pain is though? Could it be baby?" Thankfully we had a growth scan yesterday and confirmed baby is fine.

I'm also finding that treating one issue makes another one worse atm which is so annoying. I've been given some physio stretches to do to reduce pelvic pain but I can't do some of them now because they make my carpal tunnel syndrome worse!

Sometimes I just sit and look through our scan photos to remind me that this will all be worth it when baby is here 🥰

I’m in Scotland too and the whole thing (scan followed by screening bloods) took just over half an hour, but only because they had to stick me three times as my body absolutely refused to give up the goods. 🤣 Maybe tell work you’ll be gone an hour just in case you’re waiting longer for your appointment.
Oh wow that’s so fast! Who takes you for your bloods? Do you go back out to the waiting room to be taken through or does someone come in and get you in the scanning room?

Just had my last growth scan and have been told I have to have a C-section, I’m okay with it just a bit sad I won’t experience labour etc but as long as she’s here safely then that’s all I care about really.

I am quite scared tho and not sure what to expect 🙈
Is that because they’re saying baby is big? I’m sure you’ll be totally ok, and at least have some time now to get your head around it all 💕

Hi everyone, I’m 34 weeks tomorrow (yikes) and at my 34 wk appt today baby has jumped from 50th to 95th centile.
I have another GTT on Tues to check GD isn’t the cause - has anybody else had a jump like this?
I’m a bit worried they will push to induce me early if I do have GD / the growth is unexplained, which I really don’t want as am hoping for a home birth and it could impact that.
Thank you 😊

Personally I’d say go with which ever fits best. The next2me is good but it’s just plonked next to the bed, side down and that’s it. For this baby I’ve used it to rock a handful of times and raised one end briefly until I read you shouldn’t but otherwise I’ve never used the functions.
You could use one for daytime naps and one in the bedroom so if one is moveable, that’d be better for daytime perhaps.
Thank you for your help! Xx

I’ve never really had a craving the whole pregnancy. At 27 weeks I don’t know if I’ll develop one 🥲 I was looking forward to it 😂 I’ve just been plagued with nausea and reflux the whole time which has limited my ability to eat in general 😭

I am a first time mum so perhaps others can offer a first hand experience of this BUT I am a nurse and did deal with assessing and organising continence pads for the elderly. We had a younger patient who had issues with vaginal bleeding who wanted the tena continence pads provided by the NHS for this but tena explained they aren’t made for menstruation/bleeding and would not absorb to the same level or as quickly as a sanitary pad.
This could make you more uncomfortable and lead to infection etc etc.

bur perhaps any of the ladies who have actually tried it could advise better!
Thank you so much!

I have watched a few videos on TikTok about it and it makes me feel really queasy.
then my midwife apt this week we were discussing what feeding I’d like to do and I said preferably breastfeed if baby latches. So then she said at 36 weeks she will go through collecting colostrum with me and demonstrate on her knitted boob and supply me with syringes and was telling me the benefits of it etc

but the thought of milking myself makes me really queasy 🤢🥲
Yeah I’m the same.. I get all the theory it’s just the thought of it makes me feel gross. I am just wondering if it’s actually necessary as obv it’s a very new thing.
