We had a 4d scan this week & I was told baby is estimated to be 3lb at 28 weeks. Their belly is measuring 80 something percentile but overall she was 58 percentile. Just worried this is big!
I have a GD test in a few weeks & supposed to be having growth scans from 30 weeks but none planned at the min
Our little one had a big tum at the 20 week scan and I’m overweight so I had the GTT which turned out negative, so don’t worry too much. No idea how big she is now but I didn’t get sent for extra growth scans and currently my fundal measurements are showing her as average size. I’ll find out how big she is in 3 weeks!

So, basically postnatal incontinence is when your pelvic floor is weakened (terminology?) during pregnancy and childbirth and you find you have some leaks (especially coughing/sneezing/jumping) - so many women struggle for a while after having a baby but they’re not the same as the maternity pads which are much more absorbent as the volume of lochia at first can be a lot. You need these for the first few weeks and then if you find you have a weakened pelvic floor and are leaking urine you’ll want some tena or equivalent xx
Thank you, I'll make sure I get some of each type

The sleep is shit isn’t it. Practice for having a newborn 😂

I’m now 19 weeks but since the start of this pregnancy I will wake up mostly once in the night (or wake up around 5 and then don’t get back to sleep 🙃) but last night I think I saw every hour, have a bit of a cold and cough atm so just kept waking up to cough 🫠😭

My partner is off work sick too so at least I only have to do half the parenting of our toddler 😂

I’m nearly 35 weeks and still haven’t been told anything about the hospital or anything about my birth plan. My next midwife appointment is Tuesday so hopeful they’ll go over something then but it’s such a big unknown im slightly worried hha
I'm in Scotland so I have a section of my pregnancy app to fill out which my midwife and then hospital can see. Ask about it at your next appointment. Mine was brought up at my 32 week one but I'm not sure how it's done elsewhere.

Has anyone else had their screening results uploaded to badger? I got the screening at my 12 week scan and am almost 16 weeks and still have no news on the results! Assuming that’s a good thing but when I asked the question through badger I was told that it’s the antenatal midwife’s job and they will probably upload them… no letter either! So frustrating
Mine did appear but I found Badger very unpredictable and unreliable.. when’s your next midwife appt? You could call them and see if you can find out over the phone as they should have the info

If you get one of these, make sure you bend the bar in it - just rub it to warm it up in your hands, and then give it a slightly bend around the angled part to contour it to your wrist shape (in a neutral position) otherwise it won't work!

I'm in my last week of work before maternity leave starts! Can't believe I've made it this far!

I'm a bit confused on wipes vs cotton wool and water for nappy changes. Is it ok to use water wipes from the beginning? Also will I need nappy cream from the beginning? NHS says to avoid anything on baby's skin for the first few weeks but my friends have been using wipes and cream.
Ahh, me too!
I’m finally doing some work from home days too, I got to Thursday and Friday last week and was done 😂

Only 2 site visits this week, roll on Friday!!
ill be bang on 38 weeks Friday 🥰 just a couple behind you!

No idea. Said all they had left was an emergency appt but obviously I know I don’t qualify for that. She said to try again tomorrow morning at 8:30 so that’s my last hope. Fed up of not being able to eat and feeling sick all the time
I can’t remember how many weeks you are sorry! but could you try calling the early pregnancy unit for advice? I never had extreme sickness luckily but I know that’s something they dealt with when I was at that stage - I was lucky enough my area was self referral so could just call and didn’t need GP referral?

You must have a quicker hospital than mine. Also in Scotland and my appointment took over 2 hours waiting for the scan, the back waiting for the midwife to take bloods etc. Even my 20 wk scan and whooping cough vaccine took 2 hours and I was the first appointment of the day. I swear my hospital is just always running so late.
Bloody hell that’s ages! I did have a consultant appointment where I was waiting for an hour before going in, but luckily I don’t have to see the consultant again!

Has anyone flown with Ryanair when pregnant? I fly this weekend and just realised I need a fit to fly letter but it's £50. My midwife won't do it and says it needs to be the consultant. I bet they don't even ask for it when I fly but then I don't want to be refused the flight if I don't get one.
Hi, yes a few times and going again next week. My last few flights with them were before 28 weeks, for which they don't require a note ( Do I need a pregnancy ‘fit to fly’ letter? – Ryanair Help Centre ). I took a copy of my maternity notes to confirm my due date in case I was asked but no one batted an eyelid even though I did look pregnant.

Next week when I fly I will be 30 weeks so I will take a note. Ryanair have a template on their website which I think you can get your GP or midwife to stamp. My GP also wants about £50 and seems a faff as they want me to go in. I have seen there are private GPs online you can get the letters from which are cheaper. I am also tempted to risk it but knowing my luck someone will ask me so I plan on getting a private letter.

Thanks ladies! We have built our pram and put the cot part on it today so I feel a bit more.. prepared 😂 I’ve had (early) losses before so I just feel like I still can’t quite believe this happening and I’m kind of scared now that it is 😂😂

another question. I will ask my midwife but I don’t see her til next week and it doesn’t seem quite so urgent to call about it - my nausea and vomiting is back and I’m back to only being able to really stomach bland foods. Partner made a lovely looking curry last night and the smell I just couldn’t bear it. Also feeling sick handling/cookjng raw meat etc, same as what it was in the first trimester! Is this normal?! Can this happen ?! I could cry at the thought of going through this again 😭

My hands have slowly started to swell up. I noticed it after a walk yesterday and again this morning. It's not terrible, I just look like I have sausage fingers 😂

Someone has accidentally ruined my gender reveal :( I’m absolutely gutted! Have to try and pretend to be surprised now because my husband doesn’t know. 😫😭
oh my goodness that’s so shitty! 😔 really feel for you, hopefully you don’t have to keep it secret for too long x

I accidently put a laughing react as my fat fingers were in the way 🥲 definitely didn’t mean to laugh!

What about Rory for a girl? Sorry I'm just watching Gilmore girls. 😂 I also love the name Aurora and then it could be Rory for short. :D
I came to say the same!

Aurora/Rory is on my girls list.

I find naming impossible as a teacher. Meanings of names are really important to me too, so it’s really hard to get the balance.

When is too early to buy stuff... I'm 19 weeks but Prime Day has some temptations! I.e. breast pump!

Has anyone had a successful sweep? My midwife has offered this when I’ll be 40+4, in case nothing happens naturally next week. Interested to hear whether they work, the stats online say they usually do…

Mine have gradually swollen over the last few weeks, can no longer get my rings on but wouldn’t have noticed it otherwise 🤣

Hoping they return to normal fairly quickly after 🤞🏻 3 weeks to go (hopefully), not sure I could mentally or physically cope going over 😬
