I have gone back and forth that many times on if my cockapoo needs a friend or not, this will most definitely be me when I go for a second child 🤣. He LOVES other dogs… but that’s at the park. Who knows if he wants one in his home?! Such an overthinker. But it comes down to the same as everyone else says, I’m the oldest sibling and even though at one point I feel like I truly did like not my brother when we were kids (mainly when I would hide behind the door to scare him, he would hysterically cry to get me told off and the bollocking I got was NOT worth it… yet I’d do it again anyway 😂) now both my younger siblings are truly my best friends. Can’t wait to give that to my children.

Oooh, a baby monitor, a play mat, a changing bag, prep machine, white noise machine, outfits.

I totally agree, I have an older brother and younger sister and we had our fair share of dramas and fights when younger, but at the end of the day we always had each other to play with. I loved having a sibling for the silly in jokes and games and memories as you get older. And now, we are super close and I’m so happy to have them as our parents get older. My husband is an only child and he gets a lot of pressure and stress from being the only one.

We just got a baby monitor yesterday fron John Lewis was £90 I think but it projects stars on the ceiling and has a nightlight. I mean I haven't tried it yet but it looks good haha

Maybe bath/room/baby thermometers? Stocking fillers as such if you get close to the amount with something bigger.

So I’ve had my gender scan and now worried they’ve got it wrong and it will come out with different bits. Is there any point in me actually doing this stuff because I just worry anyway :ROFLMAO:

Baby carrier, car seat, change bag, towels, baby bath?
If there’s nothing you fancy for baby, don’t forget yourself. Can you use it at Waitrose to stock the freezer and cupboards with goodies for recovery, nappies, wipes and bath products too? Or from JL a nice lip balm for hospital and body cream for pregnancy, a good water bottle or comfy bra, nightie & dressing gown, crocs/flip flops.

I was the same! But they were amazing - put things in place so I don’t feel at risk & just been really supportive. It’s worse in your head!

Depending on your team and relationship with your manager, I would suggest a quick chat with your direct manager to give them the heads up and once that is done tell HR?

It’s a bit of a weird one because I only started here in December as a fixed term contract, then fell pregnant. I don’t know how it works because I’m only supposed to be here until December, but obviously I’ll be on Maternity leave by then. The policy here for maternity pay is you need to be working 6 months by 25 weeks, I just miss this by two weeks so I imagine I’m not entitled to any maternity pay. I’ve put in all my holidays so only have two more weeks left here but have had no communication from my manager or HR about maternity leave/pay. I’d like to try and apply for maternity allowance but I also need a letter from my employer that states I don’t get mat pay!

I have no advice because head office deal with the financial side for us but I know there are a few HR savvy people in the newborn thread who may be able to advise 😊

I was terrified telling my work. Had only just gotten a promotion, and been moved to manage a new team.
Ended up having to tell them much earlier than I’d intended as our anchor office day is a Monday & my morning sickness was very bad at the start, so was in and out of the bathroom far too often for it not to be unnoticed and I got paranoid they thought I was hungover every Monday 🙈

Thought I was doing so well not having PGP symptoms but the last few days I’ve woke up in agony at the right side of my pelvis and it’s hurting to walk 🙃
I had it awful in my first pregnancy, to the point I was on crutches and paying privately seeing an osteopath.
Last time I was fine, not a thing.
I’m only just over 22 weeks and praying it isn’t as bad as before!

Just had my preop, I'm in the morning group tomorrow! Can't believe by this time tomorrow I'll have a baby 😭😭😭😭
