I didn’t hear great things about their bottles but have the Mam ones which also self sterilise in the microwave (add 20ml of water) and Baby Parsley has got on really well with them. They also fit in the Tommee Tippee prep machine so can still use them with that!
This is really helpful to know, thank you!

I guess I'll get a couple of Tommee Tippee ones and a couple of Mam ones and see which work best for us when baby is here. I'm all up for not having to find more space to put a specific steriliser machine in the kitchen 😅

I got the mam ones for the microwave sterilising but still use the steriliser for them because one bottle melted on the bottom 😂 they also come out the temperature of lava. So we stick to the cold water steriliser. The bucket isn’t massive so just fits in the corner of the kitchen by the sink.

You might also have stuff like dummies, breast pumps, rapid cool etc that need a steriliser rather than the microwave

I’ve got the Mam ones too and one also melted on me in the microwave 😂

I’ve got the cold water steriliser and I can’t recommend it enough! So quick and easy and you can just take and refill within the 24 hrs it’s so easy. It’s a bit of an eyesore the bucket on the counter but honestly, you get used to all the random rit dotted about of baby equipment anyway 🤣 I love the milton steriliser just as much as I love my nuby rapid cool 🤪

I’m so glad you both rate the cold water steriliser, seems like the least amount of faff and that was my reasoning for choosing it 🤣 plus it’s cheap for if (more like when 🤪) we need to buy a second one to fit our millions of bottles/baby accessories in 😂

Thank god for Amazon prime!

Thanks ladies, invaluable advice as ever! Back to a separate steriliser I go as the thought of something melting on me is terrifying. I'm already good enough at ruining things cooking, like the time I left a rubber spatula in the pan my dinner was cooking in while I left the room for 5 minutes 🤣

On the topic of sterilizer, I spotted some sterilizing bags in boots. How do they work? Are they for one the go? Or do you still need a microwave?

I didn’t even realise cold water sterilisers existed. Just been having a look, they do look good so I’ve added to my wish list !

Does it make the time between using the rapid cool any less?

Sadly not, it still needs to reset itself. I’d definitely get at least 2 if you’re planning on using it regularly.

My head is fried and I finish work Tuesday so really have to get it done today 😭😭

I’ve just got some of these to go along with the cold water at home for out and about. They do need a microwave but no different from needing a microwave for Mam self sterilising and I’m thinking they’ll be good for dummies, teethers etc too. Worse case I could put in some cold water and a bit of Milton and seal it up for 15 mins I figure.

When LO took bottles they took both TT and Mam. I found Mam self sterilising good except you can’t stand them in water to cool/warm because they suck up the water into the bottle. This time i’ve got the free 3 pack of TT anti-colic from the Amazon wish list 🤞🏼
I’d agree don’t buy a whole bunch of any one brand just in case.
On FB market place you often see people selling massive bundles of bottles “barely used as baby didn’t like them”.

Our SPL forms are mega complicated as well 🤣 I’ve just winged it and hoping my calculations work out. No wonder it’s an underutilised benefit!!

I honestly can’t rave about the Milton cold water steriliser enough. I don’t know why anyone would spend the money on these fancy UV ones. You don’t even need the whole bucket, a large basin or something would do the trick!

My husband tried the MAM bottle once in the microwave when we were out at his grans and never had another bottle with us. He burnt it and the teat went brown. You just can’t go wrong with sticking them all in the water bucket for an hour and they’re ready to go when you need them! We use it for just generally cleaning everything now too because it works so well! I’ve popped some Milton tablets in the bath and cleaned my oven trays 😂

Congratulations! Glad your announcement went well. Were people shocked?

Sorry to put a downer on the thread, did anyone else mental health take a dive in the 3rd trimester?
I definitely have some rough days more than I had in the second trimester. I am under the perinatal mental health team though and have a MH midwife who I see every 2 weeks.
I think for me it's just the stress of trying to be organised while being completely a scatter brained person and trying to work out how ill juggle 2 kids without leaving one out.
I just over think everything but I think it's normal?
Definitely speak to your midwife though because you shouldn't just suffer alone she should be able to help x

I will do thank you! I’m already medicated for it and was doing okay but it seems as I hit the 3rd trimester it’s becoming more of an issue x
