Has anybody had Covid in pregnancy? Went to York designer outlet over the weekend and I immediately regretted it because it was so jam packed busy and now I feel like I’m coming down with something and I feel awfully similar to when I’ve had Covid in the past and I’m worried :/

I did in my first pregnancy, tell maternity because they gave me the injections for blood clots (I don’t know if this is something they still do) I had covid in 2021. I was 39 weeks so got quite poorly because the baby was already squashing my lungs

I’m feeling the same, no one has commented yet but my bump is far smaller than I’d expected at almost 20 weeks. I know I’ll obviously get much bigger and “pop” at some point, but in most photos I just look large. We are taking bump pics and I hate them all, it’s a B shaped bump right now and I’ve just put weight on my arms and chin. I don’t care too much in the bigger scale of things but I’ve also been up and down most of my life (I lost 4 stone last year and finally felt at my happy weight, then we had our MC and I really just lost interest in eating well and exercising). I’m finding I want to wear clothes that make me look obviously pregnant when I leave the house. It’s such a mindf*ck!!

I wore a stretchy dress the other week thinking it would show off the bump but didn’t enjoy the pictures. It’s such a weird time as I was expecting to be all bump and happy with my body but as long as it’s growing my baby fine then that’s all I can ask for!

One of my colleagues is pregnant, about a week behind me. She’s got a lovely bump and I must admit I’m a bit envious! We eyed each other up and down obviously comparing in our heads lol, but never made a comment.
I think I expected to show sooner as I lost a lot of weight after our miscarriage and in the first trimester of this pregnancy thanks to the sickness.

I’m sure I will be whinging at some point about having a bump 🥲

Exactly, it’s not a big deal as long as baby is healthy. I think I was also surprised at how round the top of my tummy has got under my bra-line, I think I always assumed it would mostly be down by the uterus like period-bloat style, but it’s the entirety of my stomach from ribs to uterus that’s swollen

I asked on my location specific group on Peanut how everyone found giving birth at the hospital I’m going to used and it’s 95% negative responses. Everyone is happy with the actual giving birth, but seeing the exact same comments re. the aftercare being horrendous. Makes me feel a little nervous, so hopefully I’m in and out.

I’m 31 weeks today and it feels like it’s dragging now 6 weeks left of work aghhh - how many weeks is everyone else planning on finishing work on? Feel like I’m stopping late and could happily finish tomorrow but want the holiday hours to add on to the end of my maternity leave

major tmi... but im 37 weeks now ive been having very watery stools all day, went to triage last night too as was worried as she was moving so much for hours which Is unlike her wasn't too concerned but as I had gestational diabetes I was worried even more, all was fine but I was having alot of Braxton hicks as well I could see on the monitor as well as feel
is the loose stools a sign labour could be near? or am I becoming unwell maybe, this is my first child so im pretty clueless of signs!
also think ive been loosing my mucus plug over past few days top
I also feel okay, quite tired, but overall okay

I finish a week today and I'll be 35 weeks then! It's only 3 working days now!
My maternity leave actually starts on 17th June but I've used like a week and a half of hols cos I cant cope anymore and by the time my maternity is over our new holiday allowance will be out in my company so I don't feel like I'm wasting anything!
I've really hit a wall this last week though I don't think I coulsnwork a minute longer than currently planned

I’m nearly 10 weeks but haven’t heard a single word from the midwife team, let alone a 12 week scan apt - is this normal for #2? For my first I’m sure I had my booking apt much earlier than this. I called the hospital last week and they were a bit dismissive and told me I’d ‘probably’ hear between 8 and 10 weeks

Try not to worry too much. My hospital was atrocious with antenatal care, terrible whenever I was admitted to the maternity wards, gets appalling reviews everywhere, slagged off constantly on local fb groups and their CQC rating is bad but I actually can’t fault any of the staff that dealt with me and baby on the day I had him. There’s only 2 things I’d moan about - they didn’t change my pad for about 9 hours after my section and as I was stuck in bed I couldn’t do it myself so Mr R had to when they should have been monitoring blood loss, and too much interference “help” with breast feeding. Other than that they were fantastic for the time we were in there and I’d never have thought that if id gone on my own antenatal experiences or what everyone was telling me. You’ll find the unhappy people will shout a lot louder than the happy people or the ones who had normal experiences so try not to go in feeling too negative

Yes it can be a sign, your body likes to have a good clear out before labour starts. Good luck if it is

Try not to worry too much, everyone's care is different and in reality like everything people are more inclined to leave negative reviews over positive. It's like when people find out you're pregnant and feel the need to tell you the most atrocious birth story they can think of.
Hopefully you will be I'm and out anyway but it will be a positive experience

I find this such a weird time. I’m also so tired and it’s dragging thinking oh 9 weeks to go but also I’m panicking thinking I’ve barely got anything and don’t know how to look after a baby

I’m finishing in a month then using all my annual leave before going on maternity on my due date - can’t wait ! I was hoping they’d go easy on me in this last month but nope super busy with new work and handover !

I’ve been trying to work out my leave. Last time I was pregnant was covid and was furloughed so didn’t really matter as I was already off.

I’m going to start maternity leave from the 19th August at 37 weeks, although I have 24 days holiday I’m going to take first so should finish up on the 15th July at 33 weeks, that is a Monday though so I don’t know whether to still work that extra week and take 4 Fridays off before instead or have a days unpaid leave.

I get a year. Very grateful but I wish I could stretch it to 18 months. 12 months seems too tiny to put my baby into nursery

I'm entitled to a year but I may have to do 9 months and husband take over as I only get statutory maternity and he gets months of paternity at full pay. I'm saving like mad in the hope I can do the full year.

I'll be just over 15 so I think I can get away with it. Haha, I have that "how would they know" stuck in my head now

I flew to Sweden at 15 weeks and didn’t need a certificate. I thought it was only when you were well into the second or third trimester you needed one from drs

I flew with Jet2 at 24 weeks very obviously pregnant and didn’t get asked to show anything - I took a letter from the midwife just in case but don’t think you officially need anything till 27 weeks but just check with BA. If you do want to take something check with your midwife as mine couldn’t give me an official fit to fly letter as they don’t do them anymore it has to be done by your GP. Might just be my area though - midwife ended up giving me a letter which just confirmed my due date and how many weeks I was. As I say didn’t even need it but better to have than not I suppose

Think mine is ending up about 11 months. 6 months full pay, 3 months SMP then I’ve barely used any holiday this year so I can add it to the end as well as using some of next year’s holidays
