Just in for my 3 hour long glucose test. The drink wasn’t too bad!! I was sooo thirsty so I think that helped a lot!

I also have a scan this morning, I can’t wait to see my baby 🥹

Anyway, bit of fun maybe.
My cousin said in her planned C-sec she had a playlist & song for baby to be born to. I couldn’t take it seriously at first, couldn’t think beyond “Circle of life” like lifting out Simba or perhaps “We build this city” or another 80s classic like “waiting for a star to fall”. Now I’m thinking about it and thinking “landslide” or “lean on me” which makes me teary or maybe my fave film theme or Hanz Zimmer “You’re so cool” or something like that. Or maybe just nothing at all.

What would you guys have, if anything?

I love this question! I don't plan on having a C-section so goodness knows how long a play list would have to be. But there are already a few songs I sing to baby sometimes adapting the words a tiny bit to make it about her.
'Pencil full of Lead' by Paolo Nutini is a favourite, with the bit in the chorus that goes "but most of all, I've got my baby"
'Ain't no Mountain' by Marvin Gaye
'You Make My Dreams Come True' by John Oates
And one called 'You Make Me Happy' by My sun and stars.

I’m so stressed, trying to do a gender reveal for our families and Mr 10 has fucking 25 family members to come and I’ve only got 9 so now it’s turned into this massive thing that I don’t want!

(if you don’t like gender reveals please be nice I can’t deal with any more shit today)

All I wanted was family there to do one of them confetti canons and for our families to get to know eachother as they haven’t met yet. It’s only a gender reveal not a baby shower so I don’t want a big thing, I just wanted a nice garden party with a few little buffet bits and now I just don’t to do anything.

Mr10 isn’t really supporting me, I’m so angry and I want to forget it all and just cry and be on my own.

husband caught sight of the placenta being removed to the tray and he almost passed out hun I’d just had my vagina cut open and birthed your kid but you pass out

my partner almost passed out too. He peaked behind the drapes after baby was out while they were still working on me and said the image of me smiling and chatting away asking about baby one side of the curtain and my insides everywhere and blood all over the floor the other side was too much and he had to sit down sorry mate, who’s insides were everywhere?! Must have been rough for you

16 week appointment and whooping cough jab all done and all tests etc came back all good! So that a massive weight off my mind and the itching seems to have stopped

For some reason, at a very huge 33 weeks pregnant I thought wearing a playsuit where I have to take it off completely to wee was a good idea today it's touch and go everytime I need the loo with how long it's taking me to stand up hahaha

Thank you! She’s perfect I can’t believe she’s 9 days old already! I took her to a playgroup yesterday with her older brother and my friend and her 4 year old and literally everyone was fussing over asking how old she was and how much she weighs. Everyone just says how small she is She is still tiny, she was 5lb1 and I put a sleepsuit on her when she was first home and it was huge and it was only a 6lb sleepsuit and I put it on yesterday and it filled out a bit more She’s such a cutie. We get discharged by the midwife on Friday Time flies!!

Spoiler: Planned section story

I had a planned section just over 2 weeks ago and it was so relaxed. They’re very different to an emergency one. I got to the hospital at 7am, had my obs done and a listen in to baby, was given a gown to change in to and then just relaxed. The midwife who was looking after us for the morning came to introduce herself, then the anaesthetist came and went through the consent form again and explained step by step what would happen. By this point I was feeling quite sick because I had HG and hadn’t been able to eat so the anaesthetist did my cannula and gave me meds before we got to theatre. Before I knew it it was time to go down. The midwife looking after us walked us down to theatre, introduced us to everyone in the room (there’s a lot of people which can be a bit overwhelming but they all have a role and they’ll all introduce themselves and explain what they’re doing). The worst part of it all for me was the second anaesthetist trying to position the needle for my spinal block - that was the only painful part of it for me and I think that’s because I’ve broken my coccyx before so my lower back is always very tender anyway. They do numb it once they’ve located the position for your spinal. Once the spinal block is in everything moves really quickly. The drapes go up and the midwife will insert your catheter and the anaesthetist will stay by your head and talk you through everything they’re doing. Someone will check your spinal has worked by running ice from your toes to your boobs and it’s so weird, the only part of it I could feel was a dribble of cold water down my neck as the ice melted. Once they’ve confirmed you’re numb it’s literally only about 5-10 minutes until your baby is born! You can feel a bit of tugging/pressure but absolutely no pain. The anaesthetist will keep checking you’re ok - mine was an angel. I felt horrendously sick once baby was out but she held a sick bowl by my head and pumped me full of antisickness meds until the feeling went and kept talking to me the whole time. By this point you’ll be watching your OH and your beautiful new baby and won’t even notice that they’re stitching you up and cleaning you off. It took about 40 mins after baby was out to get me stitched up etc but you don’t even notice the time. Then your OH and baby will be taken to recovery while they finish sorting you out and move you to a different bed and then you’ll join them. If they offer you the diclofenac suppository then take it - it lasts about 18 hours and is brilliant pain relief. Don’t be afraid to ask for morphine when your feeling starts to come back. Mine started coming back after 2 hours and was completely back after 4 hours but I had to stay in bed for 12 hours. After the 12 hours they’ll remove your catheter, get you up for a little walk and the midwife or midwife support assistant will help you get pyjamas and your pad on etc as obviously you can’t bend. Keep asking for morphine if you’re in pain and ask for some to take home - not all trusts let you but if you don’t ask you don’t get. Day 2 and 3 were the worst pain wise for me but I found if I kept moving the pain would ease. Since then it’s not been bad at all and im pretty much back to normal now 16 days on. And take some laxatives once you’re able to move otherwise the first poo is the worst part of the whole thing

I’ve moaned on here plenty about my MIL, but she’s just came to pick up my toddler since he can’t go to nursery with the chicken pox break out. She’s walked in the door and said pffff your belly is massive!!! Told my husband I don’t appreciate that, you can’t just be calling someone massive. He said, but she hasn’t seen you for a while she’s been on holiday. I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t like it if I started calling her massive!

I had a lady I work with who used to rub my belly and say “omg you’ve got so big!” every time she saw me. One day I was having a bad day because I’d just come out of hospital and was rather stressed and not in the mood for people and she did it so I rubbed her belly back and said “aww so have you!” she laughed it off but she avoided me after that

Re planned sections.. I was told from about 22 weeks onwards that I’d probably have mine at 36 weeks because they didn’t want me going in to labour at all due to placenta position and continuous heavy bleeding. Not once at that point did they say it was risky and that usually they’d do it at 39 weeks, I was just repeatedly told they would likely do a ELCS at 36 weeks. Then it was 37 weeks because the bleeding stopped but placenta was still in the wrong place. Then placenta moved slightly and they pushed it back to 39+5! And then they brought it forward again to 39 weeks due to GD.

What frustrated me though was the last 2 weeks, as I’m sure those who were on the thread back then will remember, I had reduced movement, baby had tachycardia, and then scans showed he wasn’t growing. But they still stuck to 39 weeks then and blamed it on adhd risks. Even though for the majority of my pregnancy we were never getting to 39 weeks. Seems like the 39 week rule is only in place when it suits them.

It’s a uti, got my prescription I’ve been sat on the toilet for four hours because it’s the only thing making it bearable. Currently running a hot bath to see if that will help soothe the pain

We are 24 weeks. I've got an anterior placenta which doesn't exactly help with the whole feeling movements thing but even when there's no pattern you do still worry don't you. Hopefully I'm home again happy and reassured before I know it.
I've got an Uber to take me as the parking at the hospital is beyond awful, last time I was doing laps of the carparks for 15 minutes til I got a space and still ended up paying nearly £4 when I was there less than an hour. Turns out this Uber driver is a chatty one. Now I'm guilty of being a chatterbox at times but surely when someone's destination is a hospital you calm it down a little bit

Went for a private scan tonight after panicking and googling things during my uti (never Google, I never learn ). Gosh it was so much nicer than the nhs scan photos were lovely and so much bigger compared to the tiny a5ish size the hospital printed. She explained more and the vibes were just so much more relaxed and encouraging. To be fair they bloody should be for 50 quid

feel reassured and less worried now, baby is measuring 12+4 with a due date of December 5th. Boyfriend is now in a sulk because I’ve told him he has to put the Christmas tree up by himself
