Mr Brew last night claimed the placenta disintegrates/dissolves when baby is born. Erm no babe, us lucky ladies have to deliver it after baby. His face was a picture not even like we're super young and naive, we're in our mid thirties hahaha

I was one of my sisters birthing partners when i was 21, the placenta part was WILD to me! Like you've just pushed a baby out now there's like a 2lb placenta together rid of? Absolutely not hun.
Honestly one of the good things about a c-section was I didn't have to think about it.
Seeing my sisters was probably half the reason I wanted 10 years to have a kid too hahahahaa

No it doesn’t hurt BUT it feels dead weird It’s like giving birth to a slimy snake

I'm glad you asked cos here's me laughing at my lovely div of a boyfriend but I was generally wondering this myself haha

No it doesn’t hurt BUT it feels dead weird It’s like giving birth to a slimy snake

I’ve only ever heard from my mum but she said it “slips out (ugh!) but you barely notice as you’re holding the baby/concentrating on other painful things so I’m hoping it’s a breeze compared to what’s just happened

If anything the weirdest bit is pushing the body out after you’ve pushed the head out! I remember pushing my sons head out and everyone being made up and I was like ‘that was sound that I’m done’ and the midwife was like ‘errr you’ve got the body to push out 🫤’ I was like ‘oh tit yeah I thought I was done’ But that was nowhere near as bad as the head haha

I don’t even remember pushing the placenta out, maybe it did just slip out, but I don’t think it was too long afterwards. I’ve said this before, I think I’m some weirdo that doesn’t feel pain because I didn’t get any pain or burning when pushing baby out, although I did have an episiotomy so I think they maybe numbed me before that and I didn’t feel anything? Or the gas and air just worked a treat

I have seen cases were the placenta doesn’t come out though and they need to fish it all out. I always remember my mum was really ill after having my sister, a bit of the placenta was still inside and it made her really unwell. She went to the toilet and it just popped out.

Is anyone doing that placenta into vitamin tablets thing?? Like placenta plus.

I looked into it briefly but there was no scientific evidence on the websites so I feel like it’s a bit of a fad. But I love a good fad

Any recommendations for a moisturising face cream, oil or anything like that for really sensitive skin that doesn’t cost too much?
I have really sensitive skin anyway but now it’s super dry and really stingy, I feel like I look about 5 years older

My absolute go to moisturiser is the Simple one. It sinks in immediately and goes amazingly under make up. I’ve tried tonnsss of others and nothing really compares for something that’s really sensitive.

I use dermol lotion as I have eczema and it’s always been my go to x

thank you 🩷 it spooked me so much when I first started bleeding, I know it seems to be normal for me now but I wish it would stop!

I’m back at EPU next week for them to have another look at what might be making me bleed and I’ve also got my progesterone to try and support the pregnancy!

I have a load of new Nivea products including moisturiser because I found out they were pregnancy safe. I can’t give you a review yet though because I’ve been sick as a dog and haven’t bothered because I’m too busy wiping sweat and sick off my face most of the time. I’ll check back when I get chance to try.. it’s a glam life

I read up about it last time it’s concluded that it’s a placebo affect if anything. There’s zero evidence that placenta consumption does any good and the CDC advises against it as being potentially unsafe, particularly if you’ve had any complications in pregnancy. If you consume it by encapsulation any potential benefit there could even theoretically be is destroyed by the process.
There’s still a lot to be said for placebo affect but if you fancy something health faddy, I’d be more inclined to spend the money on like a vitamin shot/superjuice or mega healthy food/snack subscription for a month.

Weleda skin food! Super thick but sinks in and super hydrating. I have sensitive skin but swear by it!

I had some injection thing to speed up the placenta coming out, my mum had that retained tissue with it with me so I wanted to make sure it was gone I had an epidural so couldn’t feel anything and tbh I can’t even remember anything about it coming out apart from the midwife asking me if I wanted to see it absolutely not love get it away from me

Turns out I had some Simple lotions and potions lol so gonna try them for a few days and if that doesn’t go well I will try some others.

Hey, I'm back I had a MC at 6 weeks less than 4 weeks ago on April 26th and I got my first positive test again yday. I did a digital one today just in case and it says 1-2 weeks pregnant. It's so hard seeing positive after a MC and I can't really let myself get too happy about it but hopefully it will be okay this time. Due date would be late January, early February.

Congrats . Must have fell pregnant very quick as digital would be 3-4 weeks preggers

my partner almost passed out too. He peaked behind the drapes after baby was out while they were still working on me and said the image of me smiling and chatting away asking about baby one side of the curtain and my insides everywhere and blood all over the floor the other side was too much and he had to sit down sorry mate, who’s insides were everywhere?! Must have been rough for you
