How do you all cope with the worries of pregnancy please? Especially in the first trimester!

I’ve had a nightmare with pregnancies; I’ve no living children and I’ve had two miscarriages but I’ve just discovered I’m pregnant again. I’ve also had some illnesses and ‘things’ that are rare in pregnancy before, and it’s making me super nervous. I thought I was doing quite well and I bought a single baby grow last night because I wanted to prove to my brain that positive thoughts and things aren’t harmful. I then had a dream I miscarried again last night and I am a MESS mentally!

I made it to work and actually feel a lot better than what I did this morning. I only work until half 2 so I think I’ll last the whole day. It’s good to be out, but I have the constant runny nose now 😂

Got my second 20week scan later this afternoon after last weeks non mover! Feel terrible because my little one gets upset he can’t come to see the baby on tv. Going to book in a 4d so he’s able to get involved, he’s so excited for the baby now but keeps saying he will only be happy for a boy 😂
Lol my 4 year old is the same, he’s known for months he’s getting a little sister but all of a sudden he’s started saying he wants a brother. I said to him the other day, you’re getting a sister that’s just as special. He was like ‘meh, can’t we just get a dog instead’ 🤣

So with knickers I’ve just been sizing up in my normal style the entire pregnancy and been doing ok but they’ve been getting a bit uncomfortable the past few weeks. My MW told me last week I should get full briefs and 4-5x bigger than normal so they cover bump and will work after my csection. So I bought a couple of packs yesterday.

OMG. I look like Humpty Dumpty. I think even my Granny would have turned her nose up at these pants 😂

I ordered some maternity clothes from New Look & Boohoo the other day and they came today! Tried them on and they fit really nice and look good. The summer dresses from New Look especially - my bump looks nice in them 😂 Hope we get some nice weather before I give birth in 6 weeks so I can rock the bump but they’ll still look ok on whilst I’ve got a deflated post birth belly 😂

Aww guys thank you @raspberryjuice @Brewtime87 @Greencatfysh @littlepup 🥹🩷

I’m so happy to be here! I’m just under 4 weeks. I keep trying to think positive things.

i haven’t and didn’t plan to tell any services I’m pregnant yet as the pain of having to cancel it all when something happens is just something else to deal with, but I might so I can get help with my mental health. I think I’m even worse because one of my miscarriages was a missed miscarriage and I had no symptoms at all so I’m haunted by that! I’ve already put aside the money I’m going to throw on private scans 😂 we won’t be telling anyone at all apart from work and parents because we’re just too scared. I hope it does get easier; I think it’s because the MMC was at a time I should have been ‘safe’ too. I keep saying to myself it’s a brand new pregnancy and a totally different time 🩷

I’ve never been one to believe in things like this but since January I’ve looked at the clock and seen 11.11 at least twice a week. In January just before we conceived we also saw a double rainbow that literally ended in our back garden. I can’t help but think maybe someone’s helping us along 💖👼🏻

Midwife went well! I'm showing some signs of pre-eclampsia so need to keep an eye on everything but looks OK so far! Also have PGP but again it's not an extreme case!
Spoke about getting sterilised during my c-section and they seem very open to doing that, which is a relief for me, all in all I feel VERY good after seeing her haha

Oooo I need some nice maternity stuff! I went through my wardrobe the other week and charity bagged a load of stuff that I’m not putting pressure on myself to fit back into 🎉🥳 that felt goooood xx

I swear the next clever dick to say to me "if you think you're tired now just wait until baby is here!" is going to get snapped at :ROFLMAO: just let me have a moan about how I feel NOW

I feel like my belly didn’t really grow much until about 20 weeks and now (26) its rapidly expanding by the day.. I just need it to slow down for another week as we have a BIG event next weekend and my dress was SNUG when I tried it last week 👀👀

I’d have appreciated people being up front and declining their invites way ahead of time because it means you can invite someone else in their place, rather than having someone drop out after you’ve confirmed numbers and paid for food and then it’s a bit late to add someone else on without looking like they were an afterthought 🤣 but also I’m very laid back whereas I know some people can get funny about everything and anything wedding related 🙈

Eugh I feel really irritable and annoyed that my SIL has bought baby a little top already that says 'everything is better with Daddy'.
I was so looking forward to going out this weekend with my partner so we could buy baby girl her first bits together. And I'm being hugely daft as I'm bitter the top is about Daddy, like it's alllll about him and his family, nothing to do with me, you know the person carrying, growing and birthing this child.

I'm being a div I know. I need sleep 😅

Hi girls! joining this thread I’m 13 weeks and some days now and I suffer from a fluctuating belly. Some days I wake up with a bit of a belly other totally flat 🤣🤣

I really don’t know how to dress anymore. Any tips on how to dress during this weird weeks where belly is not obviously showing looks like I had way too much food?? haha I normally dress very girly dresses, skirts, boots heels so would appreciate some good fashion advice please

Hi all 👋🏻

I've been following this thread for a week or so - I am currently 5 weeks with my first and your posts have been giving me lots of reassurance and laughs along the way.

I'm in the boat of not really knowing how to feel (no one but my partner and I know), anxious that the community midwife team haven't called back from my initial request for an appointment last week and also feeling a little bloated but quite short tempered as well! I was shamefully a smoker up until the day I found out so went cold turkey so I'm pretty sure that's the reason for a lot of how I'm feeling!

Anyway - just wanted to plonk myself here and say thank you!

When I told someone at work I was pregnant after my 12 week scan thinking I’d kept it a massive secret, she literally went “oh I knew that, you’ve looked like death for months” 😂💀 thought I’d hold my nausea and wanting to lie down and die very well but thanks for letting me know x

My blood levels have regulated thankfully not to overthink what caused the blip as google is full of really nasty stuff.

Can confirm the McDs Biscoff Latte has got nothing on the McFlurry. It’s pretty bland.

In other, I’m sure entirely unrelated news, I now have to do the GD test since all the monitoring has picked up glucose.

Fun and games this pregnancy malarkey.

Another perspective on why men might not appear as involved is fear! We’ve had a couple of losses and awful complications before and my husband has really kept his fear and anxiety from me.. he just shows as appearing disconnected or not that excited. I pressed him the other day as we’ve literally just found out I’m pregnant again and he didn’t say much, but it’s because his way of coping is almost pretending nothing is happening. He was super excited the first time and told all his friends and family (I had to tell him to reign it in a bit) and now he’s guarded 😭 he also said he was super scared of me having to give birth, so the fact it’s less involved for men might make their fear worse. An honest chat would definitely clear things up
