Hey, I'm very apprehensively joining this thread 🫣 Got my first (very faint) positive on Friday which makes me 4w4d pregnant, due date Dec 21st. 🤗 I'm 32 and this is gonna be my first baby. I'm still scared it's chemical as it's so early but the lines finally started showing a little bit stronger since yesterday.

When did you have your first doctor's check? My doctor told me to come at 10w2d and I feel like it's really late, I wanted to go private at 7weeks but the other doctor also said it might be too soon? But I've been reading at other forums (american?) that some have their first check at 5 or 6 weeks already (I know the heart may not be visible yet but they can still check a lot of other things, ectopic etc.).

I don't want to worry too much but I've probably done 30 test in the past week because the faint lines are stressing me out, I just want to know everything's fine for now. 😂

🙋🏼‍♀️ my partner is being a bit of a prick.
He still isn’t over keen on feeling baby move and seems to expect me to be 100% on the ball which I’ve exploded at a few times.
We went up to the hospital for reduced movements again last night and he came, he always gone alone before. Were there a few mins and he put the golf on his phone 😡
But he then said he just hates it all, he hates the worry, he hates hospitals, he hates what happened to me last time, he just doesn’t want to deal. He’s terrified we’ll lose baby, or something will happen to me, so it like he doesn’t want to become attached or acknowledge it all. What can you say?
I could say ‘step up, I need your support’ but that would dismiss his fears and trauma from last time so I guess I just have to go with it and accept he’s finding it hard.
He’s usually such a supportive sort and he’s turned quite selfish so I just hope this is all about self preservation rather than a genuine shift and try to be understanding. But that is hard when you feel like you’re carrying the whole load, literally.

Before I conceived my oldest I’d tried for over 4 years with no joy. That relationshipship was breaking up so no babies in sight but my dad bought me a piece of antique baby furniture because ‘well you’ll have them one day’.
Fast forward and he sadly and suddenly passed away just shy of his birthday. We were all devastated. Months later I discovered I was pregnant after just a month or 2 of trying again. My due date was a year and 2 days to the anniversary of his passing, 5 days before his bday. And it turned out I would have conceived the few days around my Mum’s bday.
I just felt he was helping me, giving her a last gift too, even though he couldn’t possibly and I didn’t want to put too much into it and be double mourning should anything happen, I couldn’t shake it. I knew what gender it would be too, he always called me baby girl.
When we drove to the hospital to have them one of his fave songs came in the radio, it’s obscure, not heard it on the radio since. My birthing room number was his bday. And baby came home on the anniversary of his passing.
Honestly it all sounds very morbid but instead of always being extra sad around that time, we’re just happy we had him and happy to celebrate LO. It’s like a reminder that life moves, he couldn’t stay but he sent someone else to be on my team. Perhaps it’s my way of dealing with it but you take comfort where you can 🩵
That is so lovely 🥰
We truly believe our baby is a gift from my partners Dad. He passed very unexpectedly last year, and at midnight on new years eve as I was stood watching fireworks I just looked to the sky and had a quiet little chat with him, told him how much we missed him, how much we'll always love him and then I wished for help to conceive, I was even quite precise saying I didn't want to need the appointment I had already in place for mid January to start our fertility journey. We ended up finding out we were pregnant less than 48 hours before that appointment was supposed to happen, just days before the anniversary of my partners Dad first being taken unwell, and when we look at our dates we are sure baby was conceived Christmas day, so I've said all along baby is a Christmas present from his Dad, that he wanted to mark our first Christmas without him by giving us the greatest gift in the universe. It makes me smile so much feeling like he's with us and helping us with this blessing.

I’ve just had a second early scan, measuring at 10w6d and it was honestly the most amazing experience. I felt so silly booking another so soon after our 7 week one but it’s made me feel so much better and would recommend 10000%
Baby was wriggling around and it’s more than tripled in size! We saw its little hands and feet 🥲🥲🥲🥲

Dropping in here as I’m 5 weeks tomorrow with first baby, feeling so, so anxious! I’ve booked an early scan in 2 weeks time but not sure how to chill until then 😅

In hospital. The dull aches just haven’t subsided since Wednesday and now it’s a bit crampy. Not like overly worried but rang up and they offered to see me so also not going to turn that down. Better to be safe than sorry as I’m going away for a few days on Monday so don’t want to be abroad and still worrying

Just had my csection moved forward a week due to babies size. But also now on the ctg being monitored as baby is very “excited” apparently (his HR is over 180) so hoping for an even earlier eviction 😂

I'm not sure I think I'm around 12-13dpo. I will try and not test but it's sooo hard not to! X
I say this every thread so people will be very bored of it, sorry, but testing can’t tell you anything about the progression of pregnancy. It can give major anxiety when the lines go up and down in intensity and even in sad outcomes lines can get darker, tests can be strong positive for weeks.
Only thing you can do is to watch for any spotting or really severe cramping and book a scan for 7 weeks.
Easier said than done I know but concentrate on keeping down stress and anxiety, taking your vit D and folic acid and quitting any unhealthy habits, those 3 weeks to a scan will fly x

Just set up the moses basket for the livingroom 🥺 Crazy to think in a few weeks or maybe even sooner there’ll be a little baby sleeping in there!

I've been doing those cheapie tests since I found out I was pregnant, they've all come back really faint and I've been panicking. Finally took a first reponse and now I feel so much better, no more testing from this point on ☺
Also my morning sickness has appeared this morning right on cue.
I'm going to book an early scan at 6 weeks xx

Had my scan. All is well. She's defo a girl lol they checked again for me. She weighs roughly 12oz. Has her dad's entire face (my only girl typical). Started getting bad heartburn lately and for me that's a sign of a ginger baby. So far only one of mine has escaped the curse of orange hair I inflict upon them 😂😂

I’m 35 weeks - had a midwife appointment today and the midwife said baby is ‘really far down into my pelvis’ She was pressing soooo far down and was like, ‘yep there’s her head’ it was basically out of me 🤣 She was all ‘so yeah, what the hospital said, be prepared, is your hospital bag definitely ready?’ Etc etc, then as I was leaving she went ‘see you at 36 weeks! If you make it that long!’ 🤣🤣🙃

Also I can’t cross my legs anymore 😂

Had my booking appointment today (8+5) all went fine, she said I’ll be high risk due to IVF/multiples but they’ll confirm more once I have the dating scan and they confirm type of twins (almost certainly DCDA/fraternal twins due to the circumstances)
Interesting chatting to her about surrogacy, she said it’s quite rare in our area, I suppose I never really thought about it before we started our journey.
Dating scan booked in for 20th May when I’ll be 12+1 but I think we are going to book a private one around 10w to see how they are both doing, it feels so long since the last scan and it’s been less than 2 weeks 😂

We’ve just been for a drive through the countryside to try and bump this baby out and 2 young deer ran in to the road infront of us (didn’t hit them or anything, they were just panicking and running down the road). Both of them only had 1 antler each which made me sad anyway but then they tried to run in to a field and misjudged and one of the deer lost his other antler and I just had the biggest crying meltdown about it and worrying if it hurt him and what if his mum didn’t recognise him when he got home (?! 😂). Mr R had to stop the car and took about 10 mins to calm me down and google whether the deer would be in pain to reassure me he would be ok 😂 full on snotty sobs and everything about this deer 😂 pregnancy hormones are wild!!

I’ve officially reached the stage where I waddle at 2mph and old ladies look at me with sympathy as they pass me 😂

Sorry guys to put a dampner on things, especially after all the lovely talk about your partners. I'm feeling so lonely in my pregnancy and I'm only 10 weeks. This weekend I felt so sad. I don't think my husband really gets I'm pregnant and that I'm exhausted all the time. He's just going about his normal life and here I am struggling to get through each day. I really want to talk to him about it but the thought of it makes me want to bawl. I just want to be spoilt a bit and for it to be acknowledged I'm going through something. I know the answer is to talk to him but ahhhhhh.

Just back from hospital. I got put on a trace and all is well. They think she’s just moved into a different position. I have an anterior placenta so the majority of movements are felt really low down until now. Glad I went but hoping I don’t need to go back again as it’s a pain in the backside but worth it for peace of mind 🩷
