The thing I don’t understand with those superstitions is what happens with number 2? I wouldn’t be buying all new so are you meant to move it all back out?🤣

Gonna start a petition to make it illegal for pregnant women to work past 14:30 😫 my energy and motivation is LONG gone by 15:00. Should be allowed to just nap imo

I've also been on Amazon 🙈

But now I'm starting to freak out about maternity pay as it's a lot less than I thought it would be so need to try to save as much as possible in the next month or so.

Also, is anyone else finding a lot of judgement during their pregnancy? It tends to come from older women for me - those who had children in the 80s and early 90s. I've also heard people talk about friends/acquaintances of mine in a bad way when they have had babies and again it's just getting to me. For example, safer sleeping - they don't agree with how it's done now because that's "not what they did in their day" and calling people snowflakes and neurotic etc. It just adds to my stress tbh. Oh and the "they never put the baby down" well why would you want to? Babies need that love and affection and reassurance and it's not going to last forever, soak it up now I say. I think some women forget what it was like to have a newborn and be a first time mum. Sorry for the rant! Just been on my mind a lot lately 😔

Ordering the beans personalised Christmas stocking next week 🥲 we probs won't put anything in it beyond her Christmas outfits and maybe a book but it's just the idea of seeing it hung up with ours (and the cats!) 😆

It's such a weird feeling that I could go into labour any time now 🙈 I'm trying to get all the last minute things prepared and trying to relax and prepare myself as I get quite anxious about labour and I know that's the worst state to be in when in labour so I'm trying not to think about it at the same time.

I'm getting quite emotional though because I'm going to miss my bump and feeling the baby move around.

I had a bit of a cry earlier because I realised how much I'm going to miss being pregnant 🥺 I have actually really enjoyed my pregnancy (apart from the acid reflux and aches and pains) but I've loved not having periods (dreading them coming back!) and my mental health has also been loads better. I can see why some women have a lot of children close together but unfortunately that's just not an option for me - this will more than likely be my only pregnancy so it makes me sad that it's almost over 😢
This makes me think I should try and enjoy it more in case I regret not embracing it. I don’t HATE being pregnant. But I do feel like I have to keep reminding myself that these changes are a temporary thing and I do feel like I’m counting down to baby being here so I can get back to myself. I miss doing things I enjoy, I’m not a fan of the change to my body at all, and don’t enjoy trying to dress a pregnant body. I don’t feel “beautiful” and have to say the idea of giving birth im just trying to block out at the moment 😅 I am grateful as I haven’t had a terrible pregnancy so far (24 weeks this week) and I’m still active etc. Legs ache a bit and I’m rolling out of bed in a morning haha. But I’m not someone who loves it.

“I’m not dying, I’m pregnant.” Is a favourite around here now.
My god, same. It's sweet that my husband is so hands on and wanting to do everything but it's a little bit grating. Example: I LOVE Halloween and have bought loads of decorations over the years and always get lots of sweets etc... this year he's concerned I'm going to injure myself getting up and down from the sofa so often... our sofa is maybe 2.5m away from the front door.

Growth scan was all good, no concerns and baby's head is right in my pelvis - don't I know it this morning! It's actually quite painful. I'm also getting increased CM which I keep thinking is my waters going 🙈 I wish babies actually came on their due dates because this limbo is so hard, I have no idea what to expect as it's my first so anything is making me wonder if labour is coming 😂

The superstitions around pregnancy are bizarre but not heard that one. The one around not bringing your pram home before baby is there blows my mind. How are you going to learn how to use it before baby arrives? Ours was really stiff so needed some wiggling without a bag in it.
The superstitions are so annoying and my husband will not tempt fate at all, so he won’t have the pram in the house and his mum told him that you shouldn’t have anything the baby will sleep in in the house until it’s born either so he’s refusing to have the cot, Moses basket or next to me in the house at all!!! Which I’m so annoyed about because the last thing we want to be doing is fucking about collecting all these items of furniture from everyone else’s houses and trying to build them with a new baby to look after 🫠

Had my 20 week scan yesterday and it was a dream, baby was moving around mad with their little legs crossed so even if we wanted to find out they're refusing to show us 😍 already know it's my child.

On the downside woke up this morning feeling terrible and tested positive for covid... Not sure what even the protocol is anymore but one less injection to get aa I was due to get vacinnated next week

Right, birth plans. Who’s written one? This is my plan for today. Do you use a template, did you hand write it? Do you have two - one for natural and one for section?
Our app has a birth plan section you complete which has specific questions and then more of a general comments section.
I didn’t really do one with my first and this one is also a bit vague:
Open to whatever pain medication I feel I need but please can you warn me if I’m running out of time for one!
They can do the injection to deliver the placenta
Vitamin K is fine
If baby has to go somewhere, my OH goes with them if possible and stays with the baby

My birth mantra is basically 2 healthy people in, 3 healthy people out so I’m open to al and any medical advice that makes that happen.

I appreciate though that I don’t have massively strong feelings about birthing pool/music/moving around etc, so I didn’t feel I needed anything more than that but it’s your chance to put down what you’d like - as long as you know that in some circumstances it may not be possible and you’re prepared to be flexible and deviate if necessary xx

You're not alone in this, don't worry. I love feeling her move and wriggle but I don't love being pregnant. Generally speaking I've had a very easy pregnancy - scans all good, no deficiencies or GD or UTIs. I think I was physically sick maybe once in the first trimester? But the act of being pregnant is very much a means to an end for me, I don't feel like a positively changed woman, I'm just doing it all for the little person at the end of it. I don't even really think about being pregnant much. It's all very "meh" for me.

Sleep is that bad atm I'm debating having my husband cut a bump shaped hole in our mattress just so I can sleep on my front 😭 woke up this morning and my legs and hips are in bits from side sleeping - I've tried maternity pillow, blanket between legs, normal pillow. Nothing makes it comfy 😫

40+5 - feeling super emotional today and people's unsolicited advice is not helping. I've started panic buying more stuff for the baby (when I turn to shopping I know my MH is in a tailspin) I'm trying to stay positive and on an even keel but it's getting hard with my hormones being all of the place. I had a contraction this morning and got so excited but then I didn't have another one so it's just sent me into a bit of a black hole. Sorry to rant but I just have no one else to talk to or that understands.

Thanks ladies I’m exhausted this morning! Have to stay in still for monitoring because he was early
I’m going to stick around in this thread if you don’t mind as I feel I’m still pregnant as he was 4 weeks early 😆

My partner keeps telling me off for saying I’m tired and the baby is taking all my energy😂

apparently it can’t be that hard to grow an entire life inside of you 🙄
And a whole extra organ!
Went for an uphill walk yesterday and my partner commented on my heavy breathing, so I reminded him (as I do at every opportunity) that life’s a little trickier when you’re carrying a WHOLE HUMAN in your belly along with an extra organ that you’ve grown! He’s brave enough to remind me that I wasn’t overly fit before I got pregnant, but that’s a whole different issue so I’m enjoying milking it for these last few weeks 🤣

Woke up this morning feeling like my pelvis has shattered into a thousand pieces so I'm spending time on my birthing ball today. Got all in my feelings last night, just feeling super overwhelmed. Pregnancy is such a wild ride and despite that I'm still not ready for it to be over 😭 I keep worrying about having a newborn that will rely on me when I feel like I can't even take care of myself right now. I know these feelings will pass but yeh. Sorry just needed to vent.

My lymph nodes has been going bonkers in this pregnancy but GP said don’t worry. Do get medical advice for your own sanity though

It’s pasta scan day! Looking forward to seeing the little meatball again. It’s been 11 weeks.
as it’s Halloween, I’m making all the efforts for the family party and have bought some cat ears 😆 sober parties are so dull.

So I’m setting up a group chat with my mam and best friend to invite people to a baby shower 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m having it at home and I don’t want children running around the house. Is it rude to invite people and tell them to leave their little ones at home? There will be people drinking, it’s not really a child friendly home either in regards to being able to leave them in one room ( a lot of old furniture, ornaments etc) and with the time of year it won’t be suitable having them in the back garden.
I don’t think baby showers typically include children? You can head it off in the invite saying it’s adults only or just fend off enquiries when they come?
“Little Timmy can come, but I’ll leave it to you to explain the Orgasm or Childbirth guessing game to him. Lots of love xxx”
