I don’t like any boys names! When I do decide on one I change my mind the next day. It’s so much easier to pick girls names for me.

Ones I’m debating on:

Alexander
Sebastian
Finn
Thomas
Ahh my boy’s name is on your list 💙

He is 6 days old now but I’m still hanging round here. I’m not ready to properly leave 😂

Anyone been told they can take a medicated nasal spray with the cold? I’m 32 weeks and got 2 hours sleep last night as I can’t breathe-was using vicks, olbas oil in a diffuser, 5 pillows and a saline nasal spray but nothing works!!!

We don’t know what we’re having so have a name for both, Holly or Harry! Maybe Harrison and then shorten it to Harry but not 100% yet!

I had a huge pregnancy pillow that was comfortable for 2 nights and then it felt too big and in the way so I bought the little kidney bean looking one and used it last night and it was really good!!

Am a diagnosed insomniac (treated with medication for the last 7 years) and have been fine with sleep up until about 28 weeks. But the moving from side to side, leg pains (not cramps weirdly, more like muscle pain) and baby movements mean I've not slept more than 3 hrs consecutively for about two weeks 😫 will wake up for about 10-15 minutes every 3 or so hours. Also means I don't have sufficient time to sleep off the medication so I'm extra groggy. If one more person says "wait til baby is here!" I may just snap 🥴 sat at my wfh desk considering just taking a sick day!

I’ve heard people say they’ve slept better with a new born than when they were pregnant so there is hope!

I feel you. I’m struggling with hip pains at night along with tremendously sensitive skin making duvet painful to use so I’m cold and tired constantly. I’ve also heard people sleep better once they’re out, so here’s hoping that’s true. Definitely have day naps, or you’re going to struggle more.

I'm one of those cursed people who can't sleep during the day unless I'm unwell 😭 the hip pains are rotten. I miss weeks 22-26 😂

Again, still lurking, but I’ve definitely slept better since baby arrived! Yes I’m up with him but I’m not in pain, aching and uncomfy when I do actually go to sleep. I wake up rested! Also being awake with a gorgeous newborn is definitely superior to being awake with sore hips and a constant need to pee 😂

How are you getting on?? Hope you’re both doing well

Yep! If you’ve ever seen my posts on the new baby thread you’ll know my first was a terrible sleeper, slept like a newborn until she was nearly 2, and I would still take that over pregnancy insomnia any day of the week

Hi everyone!
I’ve just found out I’m pregnant with number 2, very lucky in that we only started trying a month ago and last time it took 4/5 months so I’m a bit shocked! My big concern is that I’m due to have my tonsils out next Thursday, I suffer horrendously with tonsillitis and finally have a date to get them out. Is it very unlikely they will go ahead with it? Of course I want baby to be safe but just wondered if anyone could shed some light x

I vaguely remember having this with my first but tbh I thought this was much later on (am 25 weeks with my second) but the discharge! There’s so much of it. Anyone else had this?

I had dizzy spells in my third trimester and my GP wondered if it might have been caused by sinus issues so prescribed me a nasal spray (I think beconase?) - he said you can get it over the counter but was doing a prescription because a pharmacist would probably refuse to give it to a pregnant woman without a doctor's say so. It's one of those things that isn't proven as safe in pregnancy but only because they can't do trials on pregnant women - he made me aware of small potential risks and I was happy to have the spray because I'd been off sick for nearly 2 weeks and was so worried about fainting and injuring me & baby. I'd suggest asking for a GP phone consultation or filling in an e-consult form if your surgery does those, to see if your GP would be willing to prescribe or not. If not, keep going with the Vicks (I think it's recommended over olbas oil?), keep hydrated and rest lots 😊

No, you will need to postpone as it’s an elective procedure. I’d imagine they’d want to wait until after you’ve delivered x

Has anyone been prescribed cyclizine for nausea? I was prescribed 1 tablet 3x a day. But today I’ve been so drowsy feeling, I’ve been unable to do any work at all! Does say on the sheet inside the box that it can cause drowsiness. I don’t know what’s worse, the nausea or the drowsiness!

Yes I was and it definitely helped. I was drowsy but hard to tell if that was first trimester exhaustion or the tablets-I suspect it was first trimester exhaustion as i vividly remember that from my first pregnancy (I didn’t take anything for the nausea then just suffered through). If they are helping keep at them; the nausea would make you exhausted alone!!!
