My husband has strict instructions to go to the M&S below the midwife led unit and purchase a packet of salami and a can of full large coke once I've given birth 😂 can take or leave alcohol
I've told my partner I expect a box of doughnuts and / or cinnamon rolls to be delivered as soon as baby boy is out. Gestational diabetes has got me neeeeeding them so badly 😂

I just want a sushi platter and a cappuccino the size of my head (can’t do coffee right now with my HG).

I miss sushi, I know you can eat it if it’s been deep frozen but I just don’t trust it and would rather just go without. Really miss have steak as I have it medium rare. It’s a crime to over cook steak. Also wine, the non alcoholic ones are rubbish. I had the very occasional tiny glass of wine (like a sherry glass) with dinner once in third trimester with my first (like once or twice a month). Only 9 weeks here so enjoying my non- alcoholic fruity ciders from Aldi

Question for those colostrum harvesting???

I've just started today, collected 1ml so feeling very happy but unsure how much I should aim for??? Also one boob definitely was doing most of the work for that 1ml!

When I did some harvesting before mine turned up I had the syringes and they were 1ml syringes so I think you’re doing pretty well. They have tiny tiny tummies when they are born. I think I did about ten syringes - we did try and use one but she wasn’t having any of it at the time but thankfully we didn’t have to rely on it either. I still would have rather have it as insurance than have felt frustrated to need it and not have it x

I didn't have time with my first as he came early but my supply came in late and he also ended up with Jaundice, ended up having a low supply and had to pump pretty much from the start. So wanted to try and get something for this one just in case.

But no idea what I'm doing, I got some 1ml syringes from a friend that they didn't use and looked online for videos but no where seems to say much about how much to aim for.

Definitely put my mind at ease a bit with knowing I've managed to collect 1 syringe!

I would recommend following Olivia Lactation Consultant on instagram - here is a link to her colostrum harvesting video that she did

she also talks about storage and everything after

Yeah the guidelines are really confusing. I had no idea about the deli meat thing and polished off a tray single handed. In fact I made a number of pregnancy food faux pas. She’s fiiiiine.

the guidelines for the uk are here:https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/keeping-well/foods-to-avoid/
I ate pheasant (fancy work meal, other option wasn’t pregnancy safe) and mine seems fine too 😂

Smoked salmon can be eaten if it was frozen but I never risked it. Also had one coffee a day after 12 weeks which probs explains why she doesn’t nap 😂

I think I’m the only one on this thread that actually really misses alcohol🤣 don’t get me wrong, going out without it isn’t half as bad as I imagined and will probably continue going to more events sober even after baby is here but my god do I miss my wine and cocktails🤣

What type of bag is everyone planning to use as a hospital bag? I can’t remember what I used last time. Tempted to take a little wheelie case with packing cubes (labelled) inside with different bits in.

I’ll be taking a small hold-all for each of us. Husband won’t be allowed to stay overnight, so he can always bring the bits I need from home.
