Every area is different. With mine, you fill in the online form at around 5/6 weeks and then you dont hear anything until around 9/10 weeks.
The wont confirm anything or do a test or anything like that.
They basically take your word for it 😂
Same where I am! So glad to see someone else say this 🫣 when I first told my husband he wanted it confirmed by a Dr, questioned my midwife and she basically said it'd be the exact same test you do at home. So they just believe you.

I managed to get a call with my GP because I’m on certain medications and obviously wanted to check whether I should carry on taking them. But the receptionist pushed back lots first, and directed me to self refer to the midwife. It’s so weird to me that they’d just let you carry on with life and trust you to research everything yourself, in the first 10 weeks which are most volatile and risky? Seemed soo strange to me!

I had my booking appointment with the midwife at 6.5 weeks. I even had a call with her beforehand and she filled a prescription for folic acid. I think it entirely depends on where you are. I’m East Midlands.

Am South East and can confirm those mfs don't give a single tit 😂 I didn't get seen until 11 weeks (in hindsight, was 10 and a bit) then had a scan and am seeing midwife again next week for 16 week appt (will be 17 weeks 😂)

I booked an appointment with my doctor at 5 weeks. Went in to see him and said I’d had a positive PT. He just shrugged his shoulders and went “ok then, is there anything I can do?” I actually had to inform him I needed more folic acid on prescription!

Another reason I moved north from the south east. I imagine Worthing hospital would have been similar.

Doctors know very little about pregnancy except from the basics.
Usually it'd be the midwife that would put through for it if you need the extra dose of folic acid.
Although saying that, I've never been told i should be taking the high amount!

Thanks for all the reassurance. It’s on and off but quite bad when i wake up and much better when I take paracetamol. Have you had any contact with midwife service yet? I filled in a form for mine and am waiting. It feels very weird just to have to wait around for anyone to officially confirm I’m pregnant 🤯
I’m in Australia so contacted my private midwife and she’s organised everything!

I’m sure people will know this already, but if you make a baby wish list on Amazon, you can claim 15% off on eligible items and a free gift.

i have my 12 week nhs scan in two weeks. Do they do bloods for the combined test On the same day? If not, when do they do them! And when do you find out. I wanted to announce to family after my scan but worried I won’t have heard results yet

Mine were done on the same day and I think that’s quite normal. Takes a week or two to get results back.
