I think it's different for everyone/every pregnancy.Hi everyone, currently in hospital 41 weeks and being induced. I had the propess just after 6 o'clock and been patiently waiting for something to happen since. Anyone else had this and if so how long did it take to kick in for you?
thanks so much for replyingI basically found out while I was on holiday that we probably/maybe shouldn’t have been there. Came back and had a midwife appointment on the second day back in the country (early apr) - mentioned it then but she really didn’t seem bothered about it. Heard nothing so presumed not much to worry about and then had a phone call about a week and a half ago saying not too worried but I’d have an extra scan at 28 weeks (I was 18weeks at that point). But much to my shock I had a phone call the next day from my local hospital wanting to growth scan me that day. Not sure why they did this as a bit early to growth scan normally. But went in at 18wks, everything looked as should then and they told me to keep my original 20wk appt which I have and they’ll measure my growth then. I’m not too sure as to whether I still have to go in at 28 weeks but everything looks and is ok so far - they’re only looking at size of baby’s head as that’s the main concern with Zika.
I think the time with her is what's worrying me the most. Elanna is a easy baby but is used to be on the go - we try yo do something with her every day. I think that's going to be the biggest adjustment, at least at first. Getting people to come to E first is a good idea though. Definitely think that should help!Ours was older so she had an idea about mummy having a baby etc. But when we got home I went to her first and gave her a cuddle, had a little chat and let her take it at her own pace to approach him. We also asked anybody who visited to do the same and not immediately run towards the baby and take two minutes to talk to her first. We just took it slow, she did get very frustrated in the first week or so with him crying but she soon stopped joining in. I always try to make time just for me and her at least once a week if we can around nursery and my husband working etc, even just an hour or so x
Congratulations! I was in a similar position, i work for LA on a team of 6 and my colleague had her baby in December, I had mine in March. Work were great about it, they have two temporary staff members on fixed term contracts covering us. Hopefully yours will be as supportive as mine have beenHi folks... I'm very early on in my pregnancy (literally 7 weeks 🫣) but super stressed about telling my work as someone else in the team is due on mat leave from August and ours will overlap by 3 months (if all is well w my pregnancy obvs)! I work for a local authority - has anyone had the chat with work yet and can tell me what they'll need to know?
quoting this from a few weeks back as I’ve just booked a work trip and realised after the country has risk of Zika 🫠 what did your midwife say?Thank you. I wouldn’t have booked if I had known but that teaches me for not looking into it. I’ll mention to my midwife as soon as I’m back in the country and go from there![]()
