In my experience, there is always a midwife awake somewhereThanks, I think I’d best call them in a few hours when it seems a “normal” time!
Ohh I hadn’t thought of those! That’s a good shout, thank youSo while I’ve never experienced this, I wonder if using silver cups might help? They’re meant to help heal sore nipples caused by breastfeeding problems and I wonder if they might help yours as it could stop your clothes irritating the eczema.
Apologies if this is an unwanted suggestion.
In my experience, no. It goes by your dating scan.Yeah I’m just worried I’ll go overdue and they induce me sooner than usual because of the extra 5 days making me seem later. I was late with both my girls and had complications so the 5 days could be an issue if it’s wrong. I’ll speak to my midwife as she was confident on the dates too and with my 2 earlier scans confirming it. Do they ever readjust dates based on the size at the 20 week scan? It’s been so long since my last pregnancy I can’t remember![]()
By average amount do you mean what was earned weekly during that period? I’m curious to work it out myself! I’ve been doing a lot of overtime so I think that may affect how much I am entitled to?No you’re not being unreasonable, if it’s only statutory you're entitled then I’m almost positive it doesn’t come from them anyway it comes from the government. It’s if they top it up with additional maternity pay that it would come from them.
I’m in a really similar position and my workplace were being very slow about it too, so I worked it out for myself and basically told them I was entitled and enclosed my average earnings, and asked them to proceed with the application as I was unsure what the hold up was.
If you want to work it out yourself, it’s the average amount you earned in the 8 weeks prior to your qualifying week. Qualifying week is 15 weeks before expected due date, so to work it out you:
Find the Sunday before your due date, count 15 back from then. Then count 8 back from that date and that’s your window (so effectively weeks 16/17-24/25 is your qualifying window)

By the way thank you to everyone who recommended to call triage this morning when I had different movements. They gave me all the usual advice (that’s i’d already been doing) like cold water, lay on your side, drink something sugary etc and literally as I was on the phone he started a tap dancing party and has been going pretty much every hour sinceI do yoga on a Wednesday evening so I’m wondering if there’s any link with him being more chilled afterwards? Although probably not

Sorry can I jump on this, so is your SMP worked out from only 2 months of earnings, the 2 months prior to your qualifying week?Oh this is so confusingand so stressful.
So I can’t take unpaid leave or be off sick in the next 4 weeks?
Do you have a link? I can only find that SMP is based on your earnings between 18-26 weeks
Edited to add what I’ve read in case it’s from a different website
Can also vouch for Vinted, I managed to get 2 pairs of maternity jeans, maternity leggings and a dress for £10Look on Vinted - I've had some bargains on there!
Same to you, sending positive vibesAh ok, I hope all is well with you. I'll keep an eye on how I am feeling and if it gets any worse I'll maybe give my Dr's a call. Thanks for the info
Thank you!! Im willing to try anything at this point, it’s hit me out of nowhereAnd I just wanted to say that when I was pregnant someone on here suggested love heart sweets and I have no idea why but they definitely helped for some reason
I know you want to bulk buy, but I honestly wouldn’t. What has worked on some of my children hasn’t worked on others, due to leaks/not fitting right etc. I will recommend the Aldi premium ones, but I now others swear by Sainsburys. It is a case of what works for the babyI’ve read a lot of people say nappies can be very personal to your baby and you need to find a brand that works for you - totally understand,
However I would like to try bulk buy our first lot so we don’t have to worry too much about it for the first few weeks ideally - does anyone have any recommendations that they’ve generally found ok? Or will it not matter too much in those early days? It’s hard to try and be prepared when there are so many variables![]()
I’ve had that too! Only in the one calf and it’s lasted weeksI was woken up by the most awful cramps in my calf last night. It was horrendous. I had completely forgotten about that delightful trait that comes with pregnancy!
So many boys are due in the next few monthsAnother boy🥹
Meee!! Congestion has been horrendous this pregnancy, I’ve also had terrible nose bleeds almost daily and needed to have my nose cauterised which was so hard cos I still had the congestionMy dogs haven’t- one is slightly more protective of me on walks but other than that they still try trample all over methey know when every other woman in the world is pregnant except me it seems.
Does anyone have really bad congestion? The last 3-4 days I’ve woken up with my nose so blocked and full of dried blood. As if breathing isn’t difficult enough, I wake up like I’ve got a full blown cold. Any advice or tips to avoid appreciated.
Transverse at 30 weeks, delivered at 32 weeks head down.Anyone have any experience with baby being transverse at 31 weeks. Midwife said bum is to the right under ribs and head feels bottom left… so sounds more diagonal…. Feeling most of my bigger kick movements right up under my ribs not just on the right most the time!
Why is that a lie the poster asked about induction advice and positive stories not her salaryWell thats a lie.
Please don't troll the pregnancy thread.
Hahaha yepTMI maybe? 27 weeks and just woken up and my nipples are like quadruple their normal sizehas this happened to anyone else?
Came here to ask the same - I don't really have any questions that I can't find out on my ownAre there any questions people have asked at the 28wk midwife appointment? Or wished they had?
I have a few but wondered if there were any general ones people asked?
I’vedropped a sample in today, had an awful night and still in agony. Just scared they’ll say I’m fine and being dramaticIn my experience. Make sure you ring up today as untreated UTIs can lead to infection(I am not a medical professional)
