So I saw a really interesting tiktok with some thoughts on why boy names are hard. Basically our brains (lol, autocorrected to Brian there!) gravitate towards girl names because we’re genetically wired to see babies as cute and innocent so we protect them. As a result, any “boy” or gender neutral names that become popular as girl names (Lindsay, Beverly, Addison) tend to stick as girls names and we find it difficult to switch them back or keep them gender neutral. So there’s a much smaller pool of male names!

Ladies, can anyone help? We are going away in March and I will need a few dresses to wear around the pool/beach etc. and some bits for the evening too. I’ll be 24 weeks at that point. Can anyone recommend where I can get decent maternity wear that won’t cost an arm and a leg?!

I would see if you could get away with sizing up in a few bits and that way you can wear them again x

In my experience.
My waters were leaking with my second but labour never started itself.

Was it yours who was leaking previously?
I know normally they want to deliver within 24 hours of them leaking though due to infection

Nope this is the first I’ve had any leaking

Normally a 45min drive to hospital but at least I feel fine ! Rush hour traffic and several roadworks in our way

I’m 23 weeks and had a few things going on lately! I think cramping can be completely normal but if you’re worried you could always ask your midwife

I’ve had moments of tightenings across my bump and my bump goes hard surely this is a bit early for braxton hicks or is that what it could be?

this is what my niece said! Apparently Brixton hicks can start from 22 weeks so it’s hard to know! My stomach did go quite hard though and now it’s not Thankyou for your reply! X

Pregnancy hormones slows down digestion and other things so it could well be related to that

Hi everyone, just looking for a bit of advice and I’m not a fan of mums net I’m around 2 weeks pregnant very early I know but I’ve just found out. I’m having quite bad cramping and had a small light bleed mostly pink last night though only when I wiped. As I’m keeping this a secret until I’m at a safe date but it is driving me insane did anyone have quite bad implantation cramps? I’m so trying to stay on the positive side but I’m getting worried

By 2 weeks, do you mean 6 weeks? Or did you test really early, i.e. before your period was due? I had similar bleeding at around 8 weeks, got referred for an early scan when I called maternity day care about it, and baby was absolutely fine, bleeding was unexplained but could well have been blood left over from implantation etc. I'm now 36 weeks pregnant!

I’ve seen baby baths that are freestanding, they were talking about them on one of the baby care classes I’ve been to. Obviously wouldn’t be suitable for a super long time but definitely the first 4-6 few months surely and there must be other options as they get bigger!

Trouble is our bathroom is a really awkward shape - tbh I can't imagine how you'd fit a bath, a sink and a toilet in there in the first place (it's a 60s house so I think it was originally an extension of the bedroom and the outside office that he's refusing to complete was the outhouse). Basically we've got a corner cubicle shower - slightly bigger than average, but definitely not a fancy two person one, a sink cabinet and a toilet. And space for one person to move between the three things.

At this rate the poor baby will be having a bath in the living room in front of the fire XD

Wish she’d told me that! Prescriptions take forever here. Is it safe to take ordinary aspirin for now do you know?

From my experience, its better to wait because you don't know what dose you need.
It should be prescribed to you as others have said

Thanks both, 4/5 weeks so very early. I've spoken to my GP and they're monitoring hcg levels at the moment, just looking for other peoples experiences. It does feel like my period is going to come and any time i cough or sneeze it's sharp pain.

I am 5 weeks and I'm also feeling a bit like this. Not been in agony, just felt like i am getting my time of the month and sharp pain if i sneeze/ pulling pain if i stretch.

I just assumed that it was all normal though so haven't been worried. Did your doctor seem concerned?

TMI maybe? 27 weeks and just woken up and my nipples are like quadruple their normal size has this happened to anyone else?

Yep ha I tend to avoid looking at them sometimes

Anyone have any experience with baby being transverse at 31 weeks. Midwife said bum is to the right under ribs and head feels bottom left… so sounds more diagonal…. Feeling most of my bigger kick movements right up under my ribs not just on the right most the time!

If Iv felt baby move a few times but its reduced, a lot more sutble then normal… is this cause to ring triage?

Does everyone get a GD test? I had to fast today for bloods etc but didn’t have to wait around afterwards? Or is it only if you’re high risk. Don’t remember having to wait around after my bloods with my first child either x

I’m only having it because my brother has type 1. I think if you have a high bmi you’re asked to have it? x

Does anyone know if you can buy baby aspirin without a prescription somewhere?
My midwife told me to buy some for my blood pressure but pharmacies have told me she should have prescribed it. I can’t get through to her so I’m a bit lost for answers.

It seems to just depend on the pharmacy! Luckily my local one have just sold it to me no issue, as it barely costs anything and I couldn’t be bothered sorting the prescription each time.

Next edition of pregnancy symptoms I'm wondering if anyone has advice on.
Increased mucus production. Like upper airway. Feel like all I'm doing is blowing my nose and coughing up phlegm. I've had a cold but this is extreme. It's like a post nasal drip making me sick too

It’s so confusing as I know when I ovulated from tests I had done and also temping, and I had a strong positive 7 days later, we only ‘tried’ once too which was ovulation day sorry tmi Their date means I ovulated and got pregnant during my period I guess it’s no big deal as baby’s come when they come but I’m convinced it’s just another big baby

32 weeks. I have felt them but it’s really quite subtle, just doesn’t feel normal

Def, I went in for that over Christmas and was worried- she was fine but def go if you’re worried.
