I had my flu jab and whooping cough at the same time, she didn’t say which arm was which but one arm killed for almost a week after 🤣 I think that was the flu jab though! But I had no other side effects ☺

I felt a bit fluey after my whooping cough vaccine but I’m a precious princess who always gets the side effects so probably not a good test case 😂 All joking aside though, nothing a good nights sleep didn’t fix.

Been off sick the last two days as I've had dizziness that started on Sunday and won't go away. I rang the doctor today and he thinks everything's fine but has asked me to come in this evening with a urine sample so he can check there's definitely nothing wrong. I'm wondering if the dizziness might actually be a sinus infection from where it's been cold and I've been sneezing a lot so I'm not overly worried, but it's still a bit stressful because I feel unwell and just want everything to be ok with the baby. I'm normally very calm and practical but it's easy to get carried away and worry that something bigger is happening. I'm just going to carry on resting and reading my book, and hopefully it'll be good news later 🙂

Well I’ve had it and I feel fine just a bit of a sore arm! The nurse kind of just jabbed it in though to be honest 😂

I also had a midwife appointment which was fine. I have however been having regular bump tightenings and my stomach goes hard so I mentioned that to her and she was like oh I really want you to keep an eye on that and made it sound as if it wasn’t very common at this stage (I’m 24 weeks) and could go into labour early so I’m now thinking what do I do if that happens, I’m not prepared 😂😂

I’ve had this on & off since about 17wks, now 27. My midwife at the last appointment said it was normal & wasn’t bothered by it. I always get my list of questions out after she’s done her checks 😂

I’m a midwife and when I was training I was really anti induction after having a failed 3 day induction myself.

I did my dissertation on it and can promise you there’s actually lots of positive stories out there. It changed my mindset.

I’ve been qualified now for 13 years and love caring for women during IOL.

Just remember no two bodies or babies are the same.

Take the pain relief if you need it, stay MOBILE and go for little walks, bounce on the ball, stay hydrated and have little snacks. But also sleep when you can!

Good luck
Well thats a lie.

Please don't troll the pregnancy thread.

Why is that a lie the poster asked about induction advice and positive stories not her salary

A newly qualified nurse who qualified in 2022 who was previously an admin assistant is not someone who's been a midwife for 13 years. And if they're pretending to be, they're on dangerous ground impersonating a health professional.

Lying about being a midwife on a pregnancy thread is dangerous though.

If they were to give you information or advice and you listen, presuming they're a midwife, then that's dangerous!

If someone claims to be a long since qualified midwife and isn't, it puts you all in danger if/when you follow their advice. That isn't mumsnet-y, it is common sense. As new/expectant mothers you are vulnerable to this kind of tit and people trying to look out for you isn't out to get others (except maybe the fraud seemingly lying to you by their own post history).

Hardly mumsnett-y. People are giving out unsafe advice as it is regarding reduced movements. No shame to any first time mums, but you shouldn't be taking advice on a forum as gospel, it's what triage is for.

You don't pretend to be a midwife on a pregnancy thread - it's sick. Especially when you've previously said what your supposed job is.
