I’ve been reading up on this today as the what you can eat & drink seems relatively straightforward but this is a minefield! I knew you couldn’t use retinol and salicylic is only advised against in a strong peel type formula, skincare is usually <2% active ingredient which research seems to suggest would not cause a risk if used as say a toner once a day 🤔. There are some really good mineral SPFs but I had no idea that was a concern! I’ve just spent a small fortune on ZO products because my skin has been dire lately so I’m hoping that I can keep my new routine fairly in tact as I did let her know I was trying for a baby when she designed my new protocol. I’ve seen the Mama Mio stuff as a sponsored ad, I’ve already got some faint stretch marks from puberty / weight gain years ago on my hips and thighs so willing to try anything to help prevent more!

Just curious for those of you working...when did you get your risk assement done?
Work have known I've been pregnant since I was 7 weeks (was subsequently signed off for 8 weeks) been back since then and I'm now 20 weeks. I work in a fairly manual job where I'm expected to lift and also get on the back of tankers to sample.
I work in a lab and have identified chemicals not safe to touch myself. I pointed out I would no longer be doing these things and asked when I could be risk assessed. They seem to really be dragging their feet with doing one 🙄
Does anyone know if it has to be completed by a certain week? Can't find much online!
Id mine done around 21 weeks as my job I sometimes have to lift heavy objects etc, but I don’t think it has to be completed by a certain point well it didn’t where I work. Before it was done if anyone asked me to lift anything heavy I just asked someone else or told them i couldn’t lift it

The mama mio tummy rub is really good I bought the giant tub as I had a voucher to use on look fantastic but I did go through it very quickly it was used up within 3 weeks and £35 is too much in my opinion to be spending every 3 weeks for a cream. I’ve been using a mix of bio oil and palmers stretch mark cream from 11 weeks and only have stretch marks on my boobs at nearly 37 weeks everywhere else is clear. Expected to get them on my boobs my mum had them there as well. Started using the burts bees tummy rub too the last 2 weeks it’s cheaper than the mamma mio one and seems to be doing the job

I’m just using normal body butter / body creams for my skin at the moment. Just finished my Soap and Glory body butter this morning. Do you think that sort of thing will do the job or should I invest in some burts bees or something similar made for pregnant tummies?

From what I've read, you can't really prevent stretch marks from occurring. I'm adding a few drops of bio oil onto my normal body butters and so far haven't got any stretch marks but I do have tons on my bum from puberty growth spurts...so I am expecting them to develop at some point.

I used bio oil and body butters constantly throughout my first pregnancy, ended up with loads of stretch marks so the whole thing was a waste of time 😂 they faded over the years anyway and not that noticeable. I haven’t bothered with any products for stretch marks with this pregnancy, I haven't got any so far but not too bothered if I do 😅

I don’t think there’s much point in investing in expensive creams because if your gonna get them your gonna get them. Any type of moisturiser is fine really just keeps your skin supple and hydrated. My boobs are covered in stretch marks I’ve had them from about 20 weeks but haven’t noticed any others so far and nearly 37 weeks

Unfortunately stretch mark are largely genetic j think. I’ve got a couple on my hips, I caved and bought the secret saviours pants very early on. Not sure if they limited my stretch marks but the pants are very comfy and supportive and definitely get less bump pain when I have them on! But I got stretch marks in puberty so knew it was likely I’d get them now

I know I will get them but the cream just helped me get rid of them quicker before I had them so bad when I was a teenager x

Just had my reassurance scan. I lost one in October and all is good though I thought I was 8 weeks (based on first day of last period) but it’s only measuring 7+4 ☹

Glad all is well. Try not to worry about the dates, the smallest millimetre in their measurements at that stage makes such a difference.

That's perfectly normal.
With my second I had an early scan at what I thought was 6 weeks but was measuring 5.
And this one I was put back 4 days at my 12 week scan

I honestly have no clue why anyone would wean early. Never mind the science behind it all, but you have to feed your kids every day, many times a day, for years. Give yourself a break and hold out on that as long as possible 🤣
This!!! 👏🏻

Yeah the classes id be looking at doing would be end of aug and im due end of sept 😊 super close to where we live, id be gutted if they booked up.
I enquired about my ones and I was reserved a place and had a couple of weeks to confirm. I think you can also see how many spaces are left too. Without being negative, they offer different levels of protection and cancellation depending on the circumstances x

My works policy is that it needs to be completed each trimester but I only ever had one done at 18w

I feel like overnight my bump has grown so much to the point I've been wandering around in my dressing gown all day 😂 none of my clothes fit comfortably! Can anyone recommend somewhere that does comfy lounge sets? Almost 32w 😬

Has everyone started to moisturise your tummy’s I have several oils and creams which are pregnancy safe started to do this more often and does anyone have a bit of a bump now I can still hide it but when I have leggings on and a t shirt you can tell x
I can thoroughly recommend this to anyone! Goes on a little oily/greasy but soon dries into the skin and even at the end of the day when I get changed my skin feels lovely and moisturised. Plus if you’re lucky you could get your partner to use it on your shoulders 😊

Have a look at the m and s loungewear or pyjama sets. I picked up a pretty black (pj) set and its comfy and loose. Perfect for sleeping in or lounging around the house.

Also from lush- i love the Ro's argan body conditioner. Its a body butter you use in the shower. Rub it in at the start and wash it off before you get out. It feels lovely and moitsurising. Saves time trying to remember to noisturise before bed etc and waiting to dry 😊

Hey ladies and congrats on all your pregnancies. Im 7 weeks with my second and finding this pregnancy very different. I was sick the first couple of weeks but it has stopped which I find more worrying as I was so sick for 9 months with my little boy. Anyone else had very different pregnancies? I'm also so bloated especially at the top bit of my tummy. Anyone else find that? I'm a size 18 and after reading the horror stories of some of your scans I'm now really nervous 😂😂 i don't remember any comments about my belly first time round. There was one synographer who was so angry I went to the toilet before as I was DESPERATE and needed a number 2 as was so nervous 😂😂
