Hey ladies and congrats on all your pregnancies. Im 7 weeks with my second and finding this pregnancy very different. I was sick the first couple of weeks but it has stopped which I find more worrying as I was so sick for 9 months with my little boy. Anyone else had very different pregnancies? I'm also so bloated especially at the top bit of my tummy. Anyone else find that? I'm a size 18 and after reading the horror stories of some of your scans I'm now really nervous i don't remember any comments about my belly first time round. There was one synographer who was so angry I went to the toilet before as I was DESPERATE and needed a number 2 as was so nervous

Congratulations! I'm super bloated as well at only 9 weeks I think I was pretty bloated last time round but I definitely didn't have 24/7 nausea, this time is so different with that

Congratulations to you too. Yeah the bloating is tough. I've just noticed my nipples have gone darker already...very different. Maybe I'm having a girl this time. Or maybe every pregnancy is just different

Its constantly hard but I haven't gained any weight yet so think I'm just moving it all around!

Didn't get braxton hicks in my last 2 pregnancies apart from if I walked really fast.
But today. My gosh. Its been constant even sitting down!

Interested to hear how your second labour/birth (vaginal delivery) went compared to the first?

My first was three hours start to finish and I’ve had a few people telling me that second time round it will be much quicker which is scaring me a bit!

I'm on number 3.
First baby was born at 40+2 and Labour was 12 hours.
Second baby I was induced at 40+6 and Labour was around 22 hours.
So don't know if it was because I was induced on the second time or that's just how it would've been anyway

Is it true that labour is longer and contractions worse when you are induced? A woman I work with told me this the other day but Iv never heard anyone say that before. I was induced with my first and labour was 15 hours and the pain was pretty bad but didn’t need forceps or anything in the end, I just thought this was a normal labour but Mabye if I’d went naturally it wouldn’t have been so painful ?

Personally, yes.
Being induced, especially being on the drip was a loooot more painful than natural labour

I found as well with being induced, the contractions didn't gradually build up, from going on the drip, they were instantly close together and long

Oh wow I just thought my birth experience was normal for every birth, really hoping I can go naturally this time if it’s going to be less painful!

Had a 7w miscarriage last year and remember the pain from that so wondering if there is any similarity there

I had a MMC at 9 weeks and was medical managed a few days after my 12 scan, the pain was more intense then a period but not as bad as labour contractions, I remember driving around a week after and getting really sharp stabbing pains, sore enough that I pulled over and had a bit of a cry, more because of how low I was feeling though not because the pain was unbearable

Mine felt like bad period pain yes. Started off as dull ache and then turned into pain that took my breath away. Have never been in labour so can’t comment but it was certainly painful xx

Mine was nothing like labour.
Tbh, my miscarriage felt like I needed the toilet really bad, constantly.
Mixed with the cramps.
But I don't think they felt similar in my opinion

I had medical management of a missed miscarriage back in 2013 when I was 12 weeks pregnant. I found it to be very similar to labour. I was in hospital for 3 days whilst the pregnancy came away and it was very intense and painful towards the end. I had gas and air and morphine to manage the pain. I had not expected a miscarriage to be so painful given that I’d already given birth 3 times before that.

just hoping if I start getting labour pains I recognise them for what they are as never had especially painful periods!

I've never had painful period pains tbh I've been very lucky. But I 100% knew when I was in labour with my first.
My worry is if I get the labour in your back people talk about because I already have constant back ache

I've had 3 miscarriages and they all just felt like a bad period no actual pain pain and nothing like my labor xx

Has anyone else’s thoughts about giving birth changed since they got pregnant? I always used to say I wanted a c section, just let them do it all then pass the baby to me when it’s done Since being pregnant I’ve completely gone the other way, I’ve been reading about hypnobirthing and water births and I just feel more... maternal? about it all!
