xI have never heard of that being offered before, and I’ve certainly never had it done in any pregnancy. Is there a previous history of issues with your cervix? If not, I wouldn’t worry, it’s certainly not a common thing to have done so you aren’t missing out on anything.
Thank you, that’s reassuring. No, no previous cervix issues. As far as I know it is routinely offered to everyone at my hospital.
I've never heard of this offered either, nor to any of my friends so seems a strange thing to offer unless they're actually concerned
That seems so strange to me, since they usually try and reduce the number of vaginal exams etc to reduce infection risk. I’ve assumed you’re in the UK but maybe that’s not correct?

I was also offered at it at my 20 week scan and declined it as I was the same as you, wasn't expecting it so wasn't prepared at all and didn't want anyone prodding in there unnecessarily.
Have you ever had LLETZ/2nd/3rd trimester loss/birth difficulties like second stage CS or instrumental delivery? A friend of mine had special cervical scans as she had had a second stage CS following failed ventouse and she had cervical incompetence (thinned cervix). It’s certainly not routine but there are risk factors that they offer it for (don’t know them all of the top of head, just from what my friend has told me about it)
Yeah, I’m in SE England.
This is my first pregnancy so I’ve not had any of the issues you’ve mentioned. The only thing I could think was that I was offered it because the baby is measuring quite big at the mo (88th percentile). They didn’t connect it to that in the scan though, they just said they offered a transvaginal scan at this stage in pregnancy but it’s completely up to me if I want it or not.
Ah right strange! Odd they’re prioritising stuff like that in a pandemic as it’s not usual. Must have some consultants there who insist on it or something lol
My hospital do it too! Had it offered with my son 4 years ago and this pregnancy.
Was it an optional thing for you too? Did you have it done?
It was optional and I said yes only because I remember having it with my first. Im a "yes" person so put me on the spot and I'll say yes to anything haha
I didn’t have any symptoms like hardly anything until recently then the sickness kicked in I was probably 8 weeks when I started feeling a bit ropey xxThank you @Chickenandgravy im about 7.5 weeks currently. Hopefully next week ill have more symptoms, which will be reassuring
High everyone slightly freaking out. I’m 6 weeks 1 day. Went to the toilet this morning and when I wiped there was pink spotting. There’s no cramping I’m so sacred

I had pink and brown spotting with all of my pregnancies between 5 and 7 weeks.
Doctor said it was probably left over blood from implantation along along with the baby burying deeper
I lot of websites, including the NHS actually list spotting as a symptom of 6 or so weeks pregnant.
Hope it makes you feel a little better

Just to add to @WhatABore said, I was the same at 6 weeks. I was also told it was implantation bleeding. Definitely better to call 111 and they should put you through to EPU and get you seen.
GPS don't tend to do much really. As soon as you're pregnant, they're not very interested
