Just popping on to say hi! I am so glad I found this thread, I’ve already learned loads reading through it. I’m 11+2 according to an early scan I had a few weeks ago. I’m going through pregnancy alone and will be raising my child alone. My husband had severe depression and killed himself in December and I found out 9 days after that I was pregnant with our first child. It’s been an absolutely heartbreaking few months, at a time where I should be happy I’m grieving. I feel so guilty because I just don’t feel excited about the pregnancy, I feel so detached from it. I never thought I would be doing this alone. My 12 week scan is scheduled for what should have been our first wedding anniversary, I tried to get it changed as I don’t actually know how I’ll cope but I was told it wasn’t possible x

Ah guys, not great news. It seems one of the twins hasn’t made it. Only one in there now. That one is doing really well, moving lots, hands and feet moving. Obviously so so sad but trying to be grateful of that one lovely little baby in there.

sorry not to have better news for you all x

Girls, i had my scan and we have a healthy heartbeat!! Were over the moon 😁. They measured the baby at 8 weeks and 2 days (so 3 more than i thought). The scan was so so worth the money for the reassurance. I would highly recommend. It was lovely having my partner there too. The internal side of scan is absolutely nothing to worry about. They lube it up and its basically a slim dildo 🤣

Hi everyone, everything’s okay. Baby’s heart is beating and it had its little legs crossed which was so cute. I’m so relieved. Just got to check in with the EPU now to be signed off - I’ll ask what they think the bleeding is.

Unfortunately my husband had to sit at entrance area of hospital as security guard didn’t let him any further (even though he was let in last time, not to the scan but to the waiting room so he could be there when I came out.) His mom who he has cut off contact with works at the hospital and saw him and approached him and he had to leave. So he’s now stressed out in the car waiting for me and didn’t get to enjoy the moment of finding out everything’s ok as I messaged him right when she came over. Shitty moment.

Just checking in...
We had a bit of a hard time with the labour resulting in an emergency C-section after 20+ hrs of active labour and a day or so of false labour before that. The crux of it, baby didn’t respond well to the induction drug but didn’t progress without it and was in a very awkward position to come down. Because there were no waters the infection risk got higher as time passed. She became distressed at various stages, buttons being pressed and doctors rushing in then it being ok again until it got to a point where she was very distressed and needed to come out.

We then had to stay in for a few days which wasn’t very nice tbh baby girl had trouble with feeding but the care from the hospital post labour was absolutely awful and made the experience quite traumatic.
I’m sure the last thing pregnant ladies need to hear are all the details so ultimately we had a safe delivery of a healthy baby girl At 39+2, 7lb. She’s a little dot and absolutely perfect, the rush of love that I was worried I wouldn’t get after a difficult pregnancy and struggling to connect to it, was instantaneous. Hearing her cry for the first time was life changing.
Lots of post pregnancy emotions are kicking in now she’s been here a week, it’s tough, but she makes it all better.

Top tip if you’re not going for pain relief is to take a handheld fan and water spray. Absolute God send.
My epidural pump broke halfway through, we didn’t realise, thought it was normal to have that pain so went with it for quite a while before investigating. I absolutely don’t understand why anyone would want to do it naturally. It’s hell on earth!

My pp bleeding has been like a heavy period for the first 2 days and a light period since. I’d read horror stories, took massive maternity pads and inco pants, stocked up. Didn’t need them. Perhaps if you have Amazon prime see how you go yourself before buying lots of supplies and get them next day if you suffer badly.

I’ve just received my letters - my midwife appointment over the phone is on 3rd March and my scan is 27th March. I was hoping to have the scan before Mother’s Day (14th) so we could tell our parents then, but I don’t think they’d change it for that reason. My partner did say we’ll probably get a better view of the baby by that week too.

I had my early scan with window to the womb booked for Valentine’s Day, but after speaking to them this morning they’ve suggested pushing by it back a few weeks. I’m now thinking about having it on the week of the 1st or 8th March, so we have a scan pic and can still tell our parents with on Mother’s Day like we planned. It would also be less of a big gap then for us between the two scans.

I’ll be 11 weeks on Mother’s Day - has anyone else told their parents at that point? We were going to wait until we’d had the NHS scan but as that will only be two weeks after I’m wondering how much could change in that time?
I don’t want to shit on your scan excitement but don’t forget NHS scans are for health screening, need to be at certain date/stages and can have serious consequences, changing them so you can tell your parents or get a better view is a bad idea.
That said, there’s a massive difference what you can see at 10 weeks vs 12, 12 looks like a baby, 10 not so much

I just had my 12 weeks scan, everything looked fine so we’re just waiting on the blood test results to make sure. They’ve changed my due date by 2 days to 29th August. It was strange not getting to share it all with my husband but I’m just pleased there’s a little one in there (fingers crossed they’re 100% healthy, I think that’s all anyone wants for their baby really)

I'm not pregnant and never have been but I fell down a rabbit hole reading this thread anyway. I'm now not sure I ever want to be either :ROFLMAO:

Congrats to you all who are expecting and best of luck pushing them out, rather you than me haha!

Thank you ladies for all your kind words. It’s just such a horrible situation. I’ve moved back in with my parents and they have been absolutely wonderful but it’s just not the same. I’ve my first appointment with my midwife at the end of February so I’m going to see if I can get referred to anti natal mental health as I’m really struggling to keep it together just now. I’ll definitely be sticking round here, there is so much that I don’t know and there are no antenatal classes or anything running where I am so I’m panicking about how all the things I don’t know x

Just had my 12 week scan too and got to see our little baby wriggling around!! 🥰🥰🥰

The ultrasound was...an experience, had a trainee sonographer and it took nearly half an hour and two wees (two!!) before they could get what they needed. Very thankful our trust are letting partners into scans as I think my poor husband would have been so worried outside waiting for me for so long! Also, turns out I’m 12 + 5 so a few days further along than I thought.

Hi everyone so glad I can join this thread! I am 4 nearly 5 weeks pregnant and tested positive Monday night and again Tuesday morning with a digital!
Already my nipples are super sensitive and I’ve had mild cramping since just before testing positive (which I actually thought was the onset of my period). I heard thats pretty normal, but I am just hoping and praying that each week passes smoothly and that bean stays firm and strong in there.

Had an early scan today, measured two days ahead of what I thought I was so I’m now 8+4. It’s been 6 years since I had my son and I’d forgotten how amazing it is to see that little blob on the screen with a tiny heart beating 🥰

Thanks everyone. We’re very tearful but we’ll be okay.

We decided to name the twin which passed away Shepherd. He’ll always watch over his twin x🧡

More brown blood today :( why can’t this just be stress free. I have blood like once a week. After losing the one, I’m so frightened about the other one :(

I’ve texted the midwife to see what she thinks.

It is very difficult being around pregnant people after a miscarriage. I remember sobbing in my storeroom one day when a coworker announced her pregnancy soon after I’d lost mine.
ah this happened to me, I had returned to work 2 weeks after finding out about the missed miscarriage, having spent the two weeks lying in bed sobbing and bleeding through my clothes and in pain, my return to work date was actually the day my 12 week scan was supposed to be, the day I had imagined finally being able to surprise my friends and family with my announcement, I cried in my car on the way to work. Got to work, sorted my face out, went and sat down at my desk only for one of my team members who I don’t particularly like to be walking around beaming while everyone was fawning all over her, touching her tummy and congratulating her on her pregnancy. Somehow I managed a smile and a ‘‘wow that’s amazing congratulations’’, to this day I do not know where the strength not to burst into tears there and then came from, needless to say it was a shitty day!!

I completely understand that and I actually said this to my partner the other day. If the shoe was on the other foot I dont know how I'd feel. But she's one of my best friends so I cant not say anything... it's a hard one
all you can do is be supportive and be there for her if she wants to talk, you sound like a lovely friend to be concerned for her and hoping for the best possible outcome for her, and fingers crossed it is just that she is much earlier than she thought
