I used to be a real supporter until I saw her openly criticised by Dr Liz O'Riordan who is a former breast surgeon who's also had breast cancer and many comments agreed. Louise runs her own private clinic so can be quite an HRT zealot.Dr Louise Newsome is a real menopause guru.
I remember listening to her podcast or was it on 'x'?! Anyway she talked about how people were criticising her work, however she will always be an advocate for HRT.I used to be a real supporter until I saw her openly criticised by Dr Liz O'Riordan who is a former breast surgeon who's also had breast cancer and many comments agreed. They do say to avoid any "doctors" on You Tube also selling supplements.I remember listening to her podcast or was it on 'x'?! Anyway she talked about how people were criticising her work, however she will always be an advocate for HRT.
I follow quite a few people on Instagram who are Menopause specialists selling supplements for Menopause which are retailing for £50 a jar! Everything seems to 'help" Menopause symptoms and its really really expensive! They are exploiting women.
Liz is good. I like her. Newson has been criticised for prescribing well over the recommended amount of HRT. Which is off label and therefore might be dangerous.I used to be a real supporter until I saw her openly criticised by Dr Liz O'Riordan who is a former breast surgeon who's also had breast cancer and many comments agreed. Or the same but the other day I saw twinings have made a menopause tea!! Wtf, how is a tea going to help me would love to see the claims behind it. It’s just bandwagon jumping and feels so belittling for some reason, but perhaps I’m just sensitive at the moment.I remember listening to her podcast or was it on 'x'?! I think you're right. I think the reason it feels belittling is that because it's a women's issue medical research (like all other things specifically related to the female body) is much more limited die to the bias towards the male body. This means the only broader interest in the menopause is from those who wish to exploit women at a vulnerable stage in their lives and extract money from them. Every "expert" or "spokesperson" is shilling something so it all feels very disingenuous. I imagine it must be similar to living in the US where every element of healthcare has been monetised! It’s just bandwagon jumping and feels so belittling for some reason,
My prescription jumped up quite a bit at my recent eye test. I'm getting into varifocals territory, rather than single vision. Although that's more age than hormonal as the male optician said a similar thing is happening to him at this age.Has anyone had any problems with their eyesight? X
