I had to reschedule my drs appointment to discuss my menopause stuff and it’s another months wait for an appointment 😩 (I cancelled with four days notice btw, not wasting appointments by cancelling last minute and was beyond my control). I feel so down.

Another one where bloods show normal so GP not interested. Doctor on this says to look at holistically rather than just a blooming blood test!

Dr Louise Newsome is a real menopause guru.
I used to be a real supporter until I saw her openly criticised by Dr Liz O'Riordan who is a former breast surgeon who's also had breast cancer and many comments agreed. Louise runs her own private clinic so can be quite an HRT zealot.

I remember listening to her podcast or was it on 'x'?! Anyway she talked about how people were criticising her work, however she will always be an advocate for HRT.

I follow quite a few people on Instagram who are Menopause specialists selling supplements for Menopause which are retailing for £50 a jar! Everything seems to 'help" Menopause symptoms and its really really expensive! They are exploiting women.

They do say to avoid any "doctors" on You Tube also selling supplements. 🤔

Liz is good. I like her. Newson has been criticised for prescribing well over the recommended amount of HRT. Which is off label and therefore might be dangerous.

Or the same but the other day I saw twinings have made a menopause tea!! Wtf, how is a tea going to help me 🤣 would love to see the claims behind it. It’s just bandwagon jumping and feels so belittling for some reason, but perhaps I’m just sensitive at the moment.

It’s just bandwagon jumping and feels so belittling for some reason,
I think you're right. I think the reason it feels belittling is that because it's a women's issue medical research (like all other things specifically related to the female body) is much more limited die to the bias towards the male body. This means the only broader interest in the menopause is from those who wish to exploit women at a vulnerable stage in their lives and extract money from them. Every "expert" or "spokesperson" is shilling something so it all feels very disingenuous. I imagine it must be similar to living in the US where every element of healthcare has been monetised!

Has anyone had any problems with their eyesight? X
My prescription jumped up quite a bit at my recent eye test. I'm getting into varifocals territory, rather than single vision. Although that's more age than hormonal as the male optician said a similar thing is happening to him at this age.

Menopause knickers, wtf? 🤣

My eyesight is shocking, I’ve been short sighted for as long as I can remember but I’m having trouble reading things now, will have to get some reading glasses asap 😩

The menopause underwear is just cotton AFAIK 🥴. I didn’t see it in real life but it’s hard to find cotton at a good price point esp in bras. I gave up underwire some time ago and most of the wireless options are made from sweaty material. You pay through the nose for natural materials 🫠

Sitting waiting for my gp consultation to see if they will give me hrt. Feeling so nervous about it but no idea why really need something to get my head straight and stop my horrendous night sweats - will probably blame my antidepressants for that but it’s definitely getting worse as I’m getting less and less nights it doesn’t happen. Migraines have increased too has anyone experienced that with the menopause?
