I got a Better You magnesium spray and couldn't stand the sticky feeling it left on my skin. I tried spraying ( actually, maybe it was a pump) half the amount but just threw it out in the end. Hated the lavender smell too.

I had terrible pain in the ball of my right foot for ages. I thought I must have a hairline fracture it was so bad. But no. Just good old perimenopause 😩

A friend told me that magnesium glycate (glycinate? however it's spelled) helps you poo, and you need a different kind of magnesium for sleep. I just can't remember which kind, so sorry for only giving half a story.

I think its Glycinate for sleep and Citrate for the laxative effect

My cupboard is full of supplements at this point in my life!

I'm taking bisglycinate and it helps with my general relaxation (mind and body: a lot of the tension I carried in my back and neck have eased) and sleep.
The brand I use is PrizMAG, the 150 tub is much better value than the smaller ones.
I took citrate before and it gave me terrible diarrhoea.

For various reasons but mainly as I forgot, I’ve stopped taking collagen, omega 3, magnesium and vitamin d. I don’t feel any worse whatsoever. I’m not saying I feel great but certainly no worse.

I'm stuffed then as it never did anything for my sleep 😂
Me neither 😪

I'm currently rotating melatonin and antihistamines for sleep. Been told it's a bad thing to do, but I was literally a state from lack of sleep

Lots of meds/ supplements that come in those capsules seem to give people tummy trouble. It's always something to take into consideration.

I did my research before buying for the first time and glycinate ruined my sleep (because I was awake in the early hours dashing to the bathroom 😂), so I just don’t trust magnesium at this point!

Same here - not quite the good nights sleep I was hoping for. I am a bit scraed to try the spray in case it has the same effect

Peri brain fog means I have several bottles of the same or similar vitamins that I forgot I had ordered and, better yet, forget to take!

I take the novomins magnesium and Trip ashwaganda gummies together at night. The magnesium is citrate, but doesn’t have laxative effects on me. Different sites tell me different things about the magnesiums and it’s confusing!

the weight gain has definitely kicked in. it’s just sat in a circle around my lower belly/hip section totally disproportionate to my shape.

I finally had my previously cancelled GP appt today. Have come out with a prescription for estrogen patches. No argument no fight, happy to give it to me, chemist was a nightmare so will pick up tomorrow now. The difference the coil has made to me is unbelievable. My mood lifted and more energy literally the day after. Hoping these patches do the final push now

This! I mean I’m already chubby but it’s like someone’s put a tyre around my middle.

I need to exercise more but everything hurts and I’m so bloody tired - it totally sucks. Have upped my gel to three pumps a day so hoping it helps a bit

i remember specifically thinking I wanted to try to lose weight because in the next few years I would be in per and it would be difficult then being disappointed because no matter how hard I tried it wasn’t shifting then in the middle of that getting slammed with unusually difficult and random symptoms to then find out I was in early menopause and that was why.

Missed my window so now I likely will own this massive human tyre forever grrr

Of all the peri things I've experienced so far (and the symptoms that led to me discovering I'm probably AuDHD was a big one) the weight gain is by far the hardest to deal with.

I've been overweight most of my life but throughout my 30s I lost and maintained the loss of 5 stone. I was slim, fit and felt good about myself. Since hitting 40 I've gained about 4 stone around my middle and I hate it. No matter how much exercise and healthy eating I do it will not shift. I've had every blood test known to man and I've spoken to my GP multiple times but they can't really explain it. I hate how it makes me feel about myself and in a period of my life when I'm feeling generally quite crappy it's really not helping!
