Please can someone recommend a shampoo that will save me from waking up with greasy hair every day? I used to be able to wash my hair every other day but now it's like an oil slick every day, not helped by hot flushes and back of the neck sweats in the night :(

I've been using faith in nature shampoo I've had scalp problems due to perimenopause n i find this is the only shampoo that gives me a bit of relief as well as combat oily greasy hair.
U can get it from superdrug Holland and barret

Tho I buy mines from tk maxx as its always a bit cheaper in there
Hope this helps ❤❤❤

KinKind shampoo bars, either the fragrance free one or the Give Me Strength. I’ve got greasy hair that needs a wash every day, and these two keep it under control for me.

I've gone back to good old school Vosene. It was primarily for an itchy scalp but it seems good for oily hair too. I'd forgotten that carbolic smell which luckily I love.

Bloody love Vosene. Hadn’t thought about trying it for my itchy scalp… ❤

My periods have been irregular for ages now, I don't think I've had a normal length cycle in the past two years. So last month, when I was booking something special for next week, I was thinking, ok the calendar says my period is due to start that Monday but with the way things have been, it's extremely unlikely to actually be on time...
🤣🤗🤣 guess who's had the worst, antichrist witch luteal phase symptoms for the past several days 🤣 so maybe not Monday but yep, the most regular length cycle in many months, just at the most inconvenient time!
Last month's coincided with a stressful event.
Fml.

Aveeno apple cider vinegar shampoo is amazing. It doesn't dry my hair out but gives me a day or two longer before it needs washing

Washing your hair twice should help. Really have a good scrub of your scalp on the first go.

Every other wash , put the shampoo directly on your dry hair before you wet it. Then add a bit water to lather it up . Then do a normal shampoo after it's been rinsed

Yes scalp scrubbing is a good idea. I got a rubber scalp massager off Amazon for a couple of pounds. It's meant to be good for hair health generally - thickening and helping growth. It does seem to be doing that.
I also don't use conditioner any more but a leave in serum. Just a couple of drops from mid lengths to the ends. I think that is also helping with the oil problem.

I also have stopped using conditioner and after a few weeks my hair doesn't need it. I have a lot less hair dropping out when I wash it and its shine has come back. Like you I use some serum to stop frizziness and it works a treat.

Aveeno Apple Cider Vinegar or Redken Mint. I find these brill. Also a leave in Conditioner instead of a serum. I use Revlon Uniq1

Is there an app (preferably free) where you can record your symptoms daily? To see if it is peri menopause. To look at the overall picture.
There are days when I feel I’m not right, but when I think about it, it’s easy to attribute a symptom eg tiredness, to something else.
I don’t how much is enough and when to seek medical advice in this case. I’m only 41 so I feel I’ll be told I’m too young anyway.

It is just dreadful- I have been peri for about two years but recently it has been so much worse
Went to the doctors and got HRT patches which stopped the dark thoughts/ anxiety after abit

Now my periods are off scale
Every two weeks and just awful
The lining that I am shedding is incredible ( not large pieces but loads and loads)
Very very heavy periods
And I am so tired snd my bones are aching so much
I live in a three story house and it takes me all my time to get up the stairs some days

So fed up with it all

Am on iron tablets and HRT
Next step I think a coil ?

Anyone had one and it has made any difference?

Been months since I felt well
Just so drained
Any other ideas please that eases it?

I've had the coil for a year and I'm only just starting to feel the difference. Mine was fitted for contraception but at the time my moods were awful, I had horrendous anxiety and I was bleeding left right and centre. All of these things have improved since having it fitted but its been a long slog to get here!
