My friend bought me a new t-shirt so I was taking a photo of it to show her that I was wearing it, and in one of the shots my face is in it, and I don't even recognise myself. Where did i go? That's an old lady.
You said you were sleeping better and then that you can’t sleep?I’m not fairing too bad in the heat. I think the lack of ventilation from my doors and windows is working in my favour! I also had my new leather sofa delivered last week so I’m not sitting on a fabric sofa reflecting my own body heat back at me!I went out yesterday though and was completely drained from the heat and my feet were very swollen.
I need to have my HRT review in the next few weeks. Kind of annoys me that the GP doesn’t come back to me to arrange a follow up. I will have to fight for an appointment again. I’m feeling the benefit of the estrogen. I’m sleeping better and I’m more productive. The combined progesterone patch is awful though. I feel like I have permanent PMS and can’t sleep. I saw a TikTok the other day from a woman with progesterone intolerance who was prescribed a pessary even though they are apparently only licensed for fertility issues.
I can sleep now with the estrogen only patch, but on the weeks where I use the combined estrogen and progesterone patch, I can’t sleep and feel tit. It seems pretty conclusive to me! Progesterone is apparently supposed to be calming, but some people are intolerant to it and it is more difficult to get the correct application and dosage. You said you were sleeping better and then that you can’t sleep?
How do you know what’s the oestrogen effects and what’s the progesterone ?
I find it all so confusing. And then blood tests in peri are apparently so unreliable. And the more I read online, the more bamboozled and overwhelmed I become.
Same; my legs looks as if they have odema especially my thighsThe heat makes me bloat up everywhere. I feel like a sweating beach ball.
Stacy Solomon posted a link for a shark fan that blows mist out as well £130 I bought a similar one for £14 on Amazon and it does the job and a lot cheaper than £130ooooh also, this neckfan comes recommended and is currently greatly reduced! (As much as I hate to support Bezos)

My post was more confronting than intended! I’m just trying to figure this all out. I didn’t even know there were combined patches. My GP didn’t discuss any options with me. I’m on oestrogen patches changed twice a week and a nightly progesterone pill. So because I’m on both all the time and started both together I don’t know what is doing what.I can sleep now with the estrogen only patch, but on the weeks where I use the combined estrogen and progesterone patch, I can’t sleep and feel tit. I feel like I’m living in a greenhouse! Double aspect windows in every room are a witch, you’d think they’d cause a cross wind while open but no, there’s no airflow, just circulating warmth around, I popped into Lidl earlier as they had some fans on a stand with remote controls etc for £20, well worth it! I currently have it at the foot of the bed and I can change the tempo depending on my flushes without even lifting my headI’m not fairing too bad in the heat. I don't want to sound gloaty in case your area is still v hot but we have a cooler breeze this morning so opening up all the windows for an hour and living room is down to 21c. I no longer feel like I am in a permenant hot flush. My bedroom is down to 27cfrom 30 earlier
I’m down to 24c which feels fine now. The heat hits me so hard to start with but I think I can acclimate fast, which is a shame in this country as it doesn’t last and the we have to start again!I don't want to sound gloaty in case your area is still v hot but we have a cooler breeze this morning so opening up all the windows for an hour and living room is down to 21c. That’s amazing! I hope you get what you needJust wanted to post a small win I had. I finally had a GP appointment last week and he was amazing. I got upset as soon as I got in the room and explained how I'd been feeling and he was brilliant. Im having some bloods done this week and then if there's nothing else going on there, hes happy to give me a go on HRT. I honestly couldn't believe how good he was and how he listened and took me seriously. I cried with relief after. I know this may not be the answer to everything but I feel like its a massive step forward.
I’ll give it a miss thanks
What an absolute bleep. He needs a slap!I am so depressed. Partner had a go at me as I didn't want to go to family members on Monday, the heat was making me feel awful as as well as peri, I'm on SSRI'S that make it harder in the heat. I was made to go, hour drive there and back in a car with no air con as it's broken. Yesterday he said he can't stand the thought of having to spend the rest of his life with a hormonal menopausal miserable woman whose default emotion is depressed, also that he feels sorry for our daughter being an only child, and it's my fault as I'm too past it to give her a sibling!
I just feel old, haggard and don't recognise myself anymore![]()
Our bedroom is like this. Double aspect, but sash windows and we live on a main road so don't open them. And the sun is on our bedroom in the morning. We very quickly invested in an aircon unit which has been an absolute godsend! Luckily the downstairs of our house is like a fridge!I feel like I’m living in a greenhouse!
