Any ideas of anything I can take for aching legs? If I sit down for more than 10 mins I walk like a 90 year old for about 2 mins when I get up as my whole legs just ache so much when I walk then it dies down. I'm already taking magnesium, horse chestnut and evening primrose.
What does horse chestnut do? Never heard of that one before.

Vitamin D 4000iu is the optimal amount for an adult. My legs are always the first to go when it’s low. We all should be taking it year round.

I've just ordered the book, I do think diet is really key to this and its so personal for everyone, what might work for one might not for another. But I prefer to try this sort of thing as opposed to giving my money to some Tiktoker recommending some magic cure. I think the body and how it works is so important to understand. Have you heard of seed cycling, is that what you are doing re: chia and flax seeds
I don't think so (seed cycling). I'm intrigued. Tell me more!!!!
p.s. if you like the book there are more books but they're by Anita Bean.
My friends and family did take some recipes from the book I have, but went on to later get some of the Anita Bean books.
I remember one of them made beautiful vegetable soup and other soups from the books and another loved the risottos and salads.
If you do the original book for 28 days you will find your palate changed and you will be able to identify ingredients (especially cornflour) in foods such as soups and sauces. You'll probably reduce your sugar as it will taste like poison if you go back to usual foods.
I even got messages that some husbands were sulking as they didn't get any of the meals (their wives assumed they wouldn't like it).

Seed cycling is a naturopathic remedy that aims to balance estrogen and progesterone levels by eating flax and pumpkin seeds during the first half of the menstrual cycle and sunflower and sesame seeds during the second half

Nit sure how it works with perimenopause as I don't have many periods so have no idea what day I'm on.

What’s a kcr?
The hip thing is really pissing me off as I went through loads of bursitis in my right hip when I was much younger
Sorry Grifty, lost this thread for a bit. KCR is kinetic chain release, works on realigning the body through the muscles. It has really helped me.

I read it helps with blood flow in the legs. Only issue I have now is I'm taking so much I don't really know what's working.
Thanks, I'll have to look into that one! I was taking so many vitamins at one point that as I run out I'm stopping them to see if I notice any difference or not.

Thank you! That sounds like something that would help me too

Has anyone had a really light period, when they are normally heavier? I'm not complaining but it's a bit odd.

Mine have gone significantly lighter over the last few months, however often every 21 days rather than the usual 28. I’m not complaining as previously they were extremely heavy from late 30s till 45.

My periods are generally a medium flow, but back in January it was so light it might well not have bothered. That seemed to be the start of my periods becoming affected by Peri. February was OK, but then this month was 20 days late.

So, I class Jan as the 'official' beginning of Peri for me.

Mine have got closer together too, they are usually just over 3- 3 1/2 weeks.

Mine are usually much heavier, this is totally different, like the bleed I used to get in my pill free week . Although I bleed between periods, so maybe there is nothing left.

The longest cycle I've had has been 32 days , that seemed to be a one off.

Is anyone using evriol sequi?
I started about 6 weeks ago and have now been bleeding for 13 days. It isn't heavy but it's getting a bit much now.

Mentally HRT has changed my life so will persevere but hope it's just with starting and will stop soon 😫

My periods have been very light for over a year now - they went from regular cycles lasting 4 days, then it went to 2 days of bleeding 2 years ago and about a year ago it went to just one day per cycle - they're still on time but they're so very light and watery now it's not a lot at all. I'm 42

I mentioned this to my Dr and she wants me to have my hormones tested via a blood test on day 1-3 of a cycle (so I'm going for that tomorrow) and I see her next week for the results. She said I'm quite young for them to be stopping like they are.

Is suddenly starting to snore a peri thing? I'm 44 and it's been happening for several months now and I feel I may be peri (though need to see a Dr for confirmation) as I have many symptoms. Just wondered if anyone else had this?

My legs have started hurting. There is a regular pain in the middle of my right femur (it’s a bad, dull ache) and my left knee hurts when I walk. It has come on quite quickly and is a new symptom. I asked a physio and she said it could be menopause related.

I am on HRT.

Does anyone have any recommendations to deal with this?

It is so boring isn’t it? I feel like going to the knackers yard and asking them to put me out of my misery.

I have just seen everyone else complains of leg pain. lol

sorry for not reading the thread properly.

@Chocolategoggler

what is the book on inflammation?

I did that detox diet! lots of cooking but the food was surprisingly tasty and yes, I felt good on it. Sorry I got rid of the book now.

The inflammation book is called How Not To Age by Michael Greger.
Was recommended it and got it from the library. I've only read a sixth of it, but bought it after getting to page 38.
I had to put it on one side as life got in the way, and I wanted to start with the detox and then add any stuff in he recommends, when I can get back to the book.
You can read the first 94 pages here - scroll down slightly after clicking:
How Not to Age: The Scientific Approach to Getting Healthier as You Get Older https://g.co/kgs/GGegWRw

As regards the detox, I got the book online for just over £2 and I have all the other books by Anita Bean

I've noticed my brain feels really clear and my hay fever is a lot better (touch wood).
