I started just before my 51st birthday but, with hindsight had been struggling for about 8 years
I suspected a lot was down to menopause given my age of course but I never got those hot sweats during the night. Eventually I was diagnosed with a thyroid issue and lots of the symptoms overlap.

Has anyone come off antidepressants whilst taking hrt. I'm a complete mess at moment and OH just doesn't understand. I don't understand so can't expect him to.

Have had what felt like palpitations today and anxiety for a few days. Went for a walk and to the gym but felt so paranoid I just had a coffee and left. I'm sure it'll pass.
Did you taper properly.

I've been lightly bleeding just about non stop for 2 weeks now, for the first time in months. It's so painful

I'm just about ready to get myself listed for a hysterectomy

I told my GP I am bleeding heavy and sometimes just spotting continously at random times. Her advice was to put me on a mirena coil.

It is supposed to help as it can lighten periods and it gives off (not the right term but you know what I mean) progesterone so it's kind of half HRT (if you topped it up with oestrogen).

I do wonder if GP's are on some kind of commission with the coil as they really push it hard

The coil is amazing (I have one) however it doesn't have progesterone, it has progestin and it is the progestin that is responsible for the tiny rise in breast cancers attributed to HRT.

I had periods lasting 3 weeks and I was given the Mirena coil and haven't had one since. That was 4 years ago.

I had the mirena because of heavy painful periods and I spotted with it all the time which was more frustrating!
It came out last year and I never had it redone so went on gel and tablets instead which have been great. My periods aren’t painful or as heavy anymore thank god!

Does anyone have any tips for sore boobs? Heavy and dense, it happens for a full 2 weeks before any period and it's making me miserable. Nothing fits right and I feel really "booby" I'm already above a DD cup so don't need them to be any bigger or fuller 🙄

Evening primrose oil helps sore boobs.

This has been my problem. But I started taking evening primrose oil and it is definitely helping. But I feel you! It's horrible isn't it? Xx

Please just let me have one decent night’s sleep once in a while.
I’m sick of being wide awake at stupid o’clock. 😩

Hey everyone, am looking to see if anyone who’s started HRT had problems with their mental health? I was on the pill for years to control my periods (I’m late diagnosed endo) and being on the pill exacerbated my anxiety and depression.

I’m 42 and in peri. My last period was due 189 days ago, had my hormones checked about 4 months ago which show I’m in the menopausal range. This all started mid 2021 as I’d been regular since then after coming off the pill in 2011.

I’m really struggling with energy some days, migraines every few weeks, hot flashes and bad anxiety every other day, and a host of other things. I’m just starting to look into HRT. My GP told me at the start of 2022 that I was too young for it and put me on an anti-depressant which didn’t agree with me. Since then I’ve tried dealing with it but some days are harder than others.

My main worry with HRT is that is affects my mental health the same way the pill did. Has anyone found this to be the case? I know everyone is different but I want to make as informed a decision as possible, I don’t know if I could face another breakdown.

It is! I don't have a great relationship with them anyway, always hated how big they are but this just makes me depressed. I love my clothes but feel like nothing sits right now 😕

I've gone through that phase now but for years it was hell! The only thing I tried was tight sports bras but it did help when worn.

I went from an E to F cup during the last year when I was on HRT. Since stopping the HRT then I lost the weight I’d put on it but the boobs have remained the same. Primrose oil helps with the pain and discomfort but I still get this full heavy feeling in the days before a period. I’ve got no answer and pray they’d settle down and stop growing. 😩
