Just paracetamol. I use buscopan for my IBS. I don’t use ibuprofen because I have asthma. What painkillers are you using? Don’t use ibuprofen if you get UTI’s.
Yes definitely. I've just gone 4 months without a period and kept getting period pain and thinking I was getting one. A lot of my pain was low down at the bottom of my stomach in the middle.Do we still get period pains even though we may not bleed? I have all my symptoms just no period.
I feel absolutely dreadful at the moment and my app is telling me I'm due on, my last bleed was November.Yes definitely. I've just gone 4 months without a period and kept getting period pain and thinking I was getting one. A lot of my pain was low down at the bottom of my stomach in the middle.
The last 4 months have been my worst in my peri journey. Terrible night sweats, terrible bloating, period pains but no period. Then I noticed a decline in the night sweats but when I did some reading on the menopause forum I found a good thread about what I was going through and it all made sense. When I did get my period it has been really light. I haven't even needed to use anything as it's just there when I wipe but I read this on the menopause forum 'hormonal fluctuations at this time of our life can mean that not enough womb lining has built up to be shed'.I feel absolutely dreadful at the moment and my app is telling me I'm due on, my last bleed was November.
I have IBD and my symptoms are always worse around my period unfortunately. If you have a regular cycle you could try having a bland/plain diet a few days before to try and stave off the symptoms. My GP said I’m in perimenopause but I’m suffering with terrible constant abdominal pain which has got worse recently. I’m having tests done and an ultrasound. I’m having headaches, dizziness & hot flushes. I also so suffer with IBS, did anyone’s symptoms with IBS get worse with perimenopause?
I’m also having urine infections. I had blood in my urine when I got the infection which never happened before with uti.
I’m currently off work because the pain is so bad, standard painkillers aren’t doing anything.
I do eat well and stay active but is there anything you would recommend to help with the symptoms?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated x
Yes you can, you shouldn’t take oestrogen without progesterone as your womb lining will thicken but some people (mainly not in the UK) take progesterone on its ownHi all, can I ask, does anyone know whether it is okay to continue taking progesterone tablets when you have run out of oestrogel? I am mid way through the 2 weeks and my gel has run out unexpectedly. Cannot speak to my doctor til later this week so not sure whether I should carry on taking them![]()
Ahh that's great, thanks so much. I was almost sure it would be okay but this group is so helpful I thought someone would know! I have learnt a lot from you all, and got lots if reassurance about some if my weirder symptoms xYes you can, you shouldn’t take oestrogen without progesterone as your womb lining will thicken but some people (mainly not in the UK) take progesterone on its own
Thank you, I will certainly try that. It’s so painful & I’m really struggling with it.I have IBD and my symptoms are always worse around my period unfortunately. If you have a regular cycle you could try having a bland/plain diet a few days before to try and stave off the symptoms.
I've only just found this thread and am busily reading through it but that can be a sign of Vitamin D deficiency. I had that myself. Anyway hopefully it's sorted now!Does anyone else get a sweaty scalp?! When I get my hot flushes, my hair is actually wet with sweat. I can feel the sweat running down my scalp, through my hair. It’s so embarrassing
Extremely fatigued. Can I throw out a question to everyone?
Without giving it too much thought (just the first word or words that come to mind) how do you generally feel - physically - on a day-to-day basis?
