Probably 5-6 weeks. The pain improved then one day wasn't there at all. I did start the Complete Woman (Boots' own) the same time so that could be helping tooI’ve been taking boots evening primrose for 3 weeks- how long did it take to have an effect?![]()

I've been the same. Ive heard people blaming the moon these last few days.My rage is off the scale. Period ended last week. Another brewing now. Bloating so I resemble a puffer fish.
Ffs.
I wondered that too. I've been experiencing this a LOT recently. Really intensely. Always been a worrier but never quite like this.Is really low mood part of peri too? I'm so emotional and have like little panics about things that haven't even happened. Like my elderly parents dying, my little boy being poorly etc. Like irrational thoughts I suppose?
It is horrible. I'm the same, always been a worrier and over thinker. But it seems full on atm. Plus iv been having breast pain and so I feel quite low. I'm sure it must be perimenopause.I wondered that too. I've been experiencing this a LOT recently. Really intensely. Always been a worrier but never quite like this.
I feel for you, it's horrible.
As others have said, I'm sure it is part of peri - I have found over the last couple of years that irrational thoughts, worries, and anxiety have taken me over a little bit. Low mood has come with this too.Is really low mood part of peri too? I'm so emotional and have like little panics about things that haven't even happened. Iv been exactly the same. I definitely notice the lead up to my period I'm really low. Iv just bought some evening primrose oil as people suggested its good with the breast pain, but also people have recommended it for the low mood too. So maybe get some yourself too. I really feel for you because I know how awful jt can be xxxAs others have said, I'm sure it is part of peri - I have found over the last couple of years that irrational thoughts, worries, and anxiety have taken me over a little bit. Small things that I would 'just' have previously found stressful are now causing ridiculous amounts of panic. Particularly in the run-up to my period.
The run-up to Xmas, Xmas Day, and afterwards has been PMS week for me, and it's felt unbearable. Period arrived last night and although I still feel bad and very depressed/anxious, I know why I felt so terrible this week, now.
I've been 'off' a total of 8 days and started again.Last period was a 6-week cycle, looks like I'm about to come on again 2 weeks after the last one. Not impressed.
Holy tit new symptom unlocked. I have the period from hell and a pain in my left armpit thats agony. Currently sat braless with an ice pack under my armpit. Apparently a peri symptom to do with hormones and lymph nodes.
This is NOT fun.
I’ve not long had a pretty thorough exam with ultrasounds etc after a scare so I’m fairly certain in my case this is a hormonal thing linked to the sore boobs, but absolutely agree it should be checked if you’ve not been examined recently.I had a severe stabbing pain in my armpit recently which I'd never experienced before and thought it could a sign of something more sinister. It was really painful. It kept happening on and off.
Luckily it wasn't anything serious and as you say, I was advised it's hormonal and affects the lymph nodes.
However I would still encourage anyone with any concerns to get yourselves checked out.
I take magnesium and it really helps with the lack of sleepCan anyone recommend any supplements for insomnia please?
I'm so tired and find it easy to go to sleep but then I'm awake half the night. My brain seems to think that 5am is a good time to get going atm![]()
